A quick Google search revealed the closest tire repair location was just a couple of miles away. The neighborhood looked sketchy since most of the businesses had bars on the doors and windows but I didn't really have a choice. The whole event turned out to be delightful. We pulled into Gilbert's and were waved to a spot in front of the building. They were busy with two other cars but, within five minutes, Gilbert himself, started removing the tire. He asked if I wanted the hole patched from the inside or a plug inserted. I asked him what was best as this was my first flat tire, he recommended the patch and I told him that would work. He took the tire into his shop and was back in 10-15 minutes. He reinstalled the wheel, charged me $20 (I gave him $40 and told him to buy his guys a beer) and we left. The whole experience lasted less than 30 minutes. I can't speak highly enough about Gilbert and his service. I also learned that you can't judge a business by appearances. Thanks Gilbert!
