CCR handled a fried hard drive on my wife's computer quickly and efficiently. A few weeks later, a repairman (Joshua) made a house call to help a sick friend make the necessary adjustments to a "smart TV" which came with no instructions, and was not letting her see the programming she wanted. He was polite, patient, and compassionate toward my struggling friend, going well above and beyond mere service and repair. Turned in my laptop for repair June 11th and it wasn't complete until September 3rd after multiple calls asking for updates and being informed it would be done soon. After explaining my displeasure to an employee due to the amount of time it took he took a nice discount off the price. Now, the work the shop did on my laptop was FANTASTIC. It works just like brand new. I'm sure there was just some sort of miscommunication or maybe just forgetfulness. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for compute repairs. Carbondale Computer Repair had our computer over 4 weeks. We called numerous times and were told every time to check back in a few days. I stopped by to see what the situation was and saw the computer sitting on the floor in the same spot it had been placed 4 weeks earlier. The side panel was laying on the floor in the lobby another panel was in a back room. I asked the employee what the deal was and he had no idea but suggested I check back in a few days. I took the computer back. When I got home, I noticed the panel screws and dust cover were not included and they gave the wrong power cord back. Very unprofessional when I had to bring my computer back to them after paying over $400+ on having my computer to be fixed. Only to have two employees yelling and arguing in front of me and another customer and her young child. I'm very disappointed that I now have to send in my computer that I use for school into Dell to fix up this businesses mistakes. read more

When I took my MacBook over to them to repair a battery, they said they got the part, no problem at all. However that relief was short lived when I found out that after replacing the battery, you can't connect to a WiFi network anymore. I don't know if this was a gimmick or highway robbery. But I do know this people should make sure they check everything next time. read more

Incompetent and very poor service. My daughter brought her Apple MacBook in for service because the keyboard was not working correctly. She paid $250 for a new keyboard to be installed. When she picked it up, the keyboard still did not work properly. She returned it and was promised it back on Friday 8/9/13 or at the latest Saturday 8/10/13 as she was leaving town to return to her out-of-state home. Went to pick it up Monday morning 8/12/13 and they had not worked on it at all, so she had to leave it behind and return home (and I had to pay to have it shipped back to her). When I picked it up later that day, the 'new' keyboard still did not work properly and they said they couldn't fix it. When I asked why they charged my daughter for a new keyboard and repair and it still wasn't repaired, I got a blank stare. I would never ever bring a computer into this repair shop. I brought it in to Carbondale Computer Repair, they got me an estimate for my insurance company that day, we gave them the go ahead on Wednesday, and they got my computer back to me, fixed perfectly (it wouldn't turn on. I am all about supporting local and really wanted to like this shop. We had a broken hard drive on a Mac book that we needed recovered. He said he would try and attempted to do a data backup. After a few days and little communication, I just went back into the shop to see how it was going. I was told he couldn't help. Okay fine, fair enough. He then still wanted to charge me $60 for his attempt. Annoying, but fine. What really bothered me was that he broke the case to the laptop while trying to put it back together and tried to return it to me with a broken screw and a laptop case that wasn't even sealed. So essentially he wanted to charge me $60 and give me a laptop that was MORE BROKEN than what he started with. That's absurd. Eventually after I told him that was unacceptable he went back inside the shop for a little while longer and managed to put the screw back in he broke. These people are very well priced and don't talk over your heads which is always good, but what really won me over was they're honesty. I came in with a stuck disk drive. They said that they my have to replace the disk drive but if they did they would call me first and discuss it because getting a USB disk drive would be much cheaper. In other words they were willing to tell me cheaper option that would not include me paying them much at all as I would essentially take my business elsewhere. Great policy to have! Great experience! My 8 month old Macbook air would not turn on and was still under warranty. They contacted Apple and ordered two different parts and it was fixed in a week! This is a wonderful service to have in Carbondale as the closest Apple Store is 2 hours away. I will definitely use them again with or without an active warranty! read more

They had my Macbook for over 3 weeks without ever giving me a quote. I called three times with no answer before I just went in and asked for it back. Guy attempted to give me a quoted price, seemed like he just pulled a number out of nowhere. Payed $60 pretty much for them to hold my laptop for 3 weeks. Absolutely ludicrous service. Dropped my laptop off with HD issues and was assured I'd get a quote in a timely manner. A week goes by. No worries, sometimes people are busy and I have no idea how long it takes with these sort of things. I call and leave a message just to check in. Two weeks go by. No return of my message. I call a couple more times during business hours, no one picks up either time. I leave two more messages. Three weeks go by. Now I'm mad. By this time I've called 6 separate times during BUSINESS HOURS and left 5 separate messages. None of them have been returned. I finally go in and pick up the laptop and they guy gives me a quote without looking at any material. I'm pretty sure he made it up. No, actually, I'm certain he made it up. I decline the quote because I'm not going to trust someone who doesn't know how to operate voicemail with fixing my computer but still have to pay $60 for the service of storing my laptop somewhere other than my house for 3 weeks. Pretty sure I could have my computer shipped to France then shipped back and it would be cheaper with the same results.
