Saw him (Dr. Peterson) last December 2022 with symptoms related to the heart I was never asked to fill out paperwork reference to current/past medical issues or anything about family history. That was the first flag. Dismissive isn't even the word to describe this guy during my visit. Anything outside his cookie cutter experience he is lost and not your guy. No tests ordered or concerns just wanted me to take salt pills. That was the second flag. Thank God my husband and I had enough sense to know something was wrong and Dr. Petersons recommendation of 'salt pills' was code for 'I don't know what I'm doing' I'm now blessed with a real Cardiologist from across the Bay who listened, took family history, ran tests and saved my life with an ICD implant due to irregular heart rhythms and sudden death. Final thought, just don't.

He far surpasses many other doctors. Monday, April 13: admitted as inpatient. Surgery was performed and went well. Tuesday, April 14: discharged to go home - various items of mine were in the small hospital bag issued to me. Items include: 1 pair of white shorts black stripes; 1 pair of black Rothy's , and 1 pair of prescription glasses. As of this moment no one has contacted me with updates. My prescription glasses were approximately $300 and my Rothy slip on black canvas shoes were $150. The shorts were part of a set valued at $26. I had no bottoms. The third floor nurse kindly found me a pair of blue paper pants. My brief stay at Thomas Hospital went fabulously well until things could not be located. .... I still have incredible respect for Thomas Hospital. Things don't just walk off...I would like my items back. I look forward to hearing from you. ..Thank you, Becki Ducote

My husband is handicap and he was assalted by a drunk man outside Baumhower restaurant. He was…read moretaken there by the ambulance. He had broken arm with exposed bone losing a lot of blood. He had a concussion and a cut in the forehead. He was treated like a indigent at Thomas hospital the 3 days he stayed there. They neither gave him a shower during his stay nor cleaned him up.. The orthopedic doctor did the surgery that all what they did. They neither stitched the cut on his face nor clean the blood on his face and his hand after the surgery. He had to ask them for wipes to clean himself. They send him home with no regard to his condition. It took him almost 3 months for his mind to come back and act normal. He was alone and they send him home with nobody to help him. I was in Brazil and i call the hospital to complain the treatment he had. They call me back and try to send a help after 4 days. The staff and the nurses do not do their work. They neither care about anybody nor do for what they are paid for. They just getting worse and worse. Care about patient reviews but nothing do to improve. They need better administration. Unfortunately I was away because If I was there with him I would had make a noise. I speak up and do accept lazy people not doing their job. I DO NOT RECOMMENED THOMAS HOSPITAL.

I have Medicare and a supplement plan F and realize how financially impacted medical services are under these programs. Some medical facilities tend rush you through. I did some research, asked around and I got super lucky and found another cardio fit for myself. Karl Hakmiller is a sharp and friendly doctor, who like my previous cardiologist, listens to and cares about his patients. It was on my very first visit with him last year that I discovered that he's a New England Patriots AND a Red Sox fan, which is just a big fat bonus :-) But that's no surprise actually as he is from Connecticut, got his B.A. at John Hopkins and his MD at Tufts in Boston then did his cardio fellowship in Maine, so a real New Englander!!Okay enough homey talk back to the less fun stuff LOL He is a part of Cardiology Associates with several locations in AL and one in MS., mine is in Foley next door to the hospital. They're an impressive group of doctors, nurses and technicians that perform a big variety of testing in-house including stress tests, ecg, CT, pacemaker, pulnonary and much more. In addition to traditional heart and vascular studies, they're a leader in advanced cardiovascular imaging.  In 2005 Cardiology Associates was the first private practice in the country to offer cardiac computed tomography, CT, using the GE 64-slice CT scanner. In 2010, we added the additional capabilities of cardiac PET CT, impresive indeed. They also have automated check-in kiosks that scan your license & insurance cards, text reminders and online patient portals so these folks have got it going on from a technology perspective and I'm liking that. Bottom line: I really like my new doc and I feel very comfortable with level of care, knowledge, experience and the fact that he's a nice guy all works for me. Highly recommended!!

After waiting for over a hour I had to leave for another appointment. No one on the staff there spoke about when the doctor would see me or seemed to care. So I guess I just wasted my co-pay and would not be surprised if they bill me for the appointment. This is a very unprofessional group I do not recommend them. I will look for a group of cardiologist that have some degree of integrity as it is my experience if the office is this poorly run it is a strong possibility the doctors will mirror their staffs skill sets. The staff expects the patient to sign theirselves in on a Kiosk, which faces the room for all to see. This seems very impersonal. I for one would like to speak to an office staff member whenever I enter a Doctor's clinic. They act like we are bothering them when we speak to them. There seems to be only one person at each clinic who can do the scheduling, which seems unreal to me. What did they go to school for? Or did they even go? My husband used to go to Cardiac Associates in Foley, but he stopped for these same reasons. his words were, "one hand doesn't know what the other one is doing!" I hope one or more of the Doctors reads this review, and decides to make some changes. This is the most poorly run doctors clinic I have ever known.
