This place is a straight up money grab. Care is non existent. They ran tests on my mother who is a long time patient billed insurance and never called her back! We tried repeatedly to get results. My doctor sent a request to CA, and for four weeks (going into the fifth week), I made calls to CA to get information on my device and lead sent to my doctor. I just needed to find out if my device is compatible with running a much needed MRI. When they finally sent the info in the fifth week, they only sent serial numbers of the ICD and Lead and my doctor does not have access to the system to look the device up. I ended up calling my Device Clinic in Wisconsin. I provided them with the serial numbers and they told me within 2 minutes that my device and lead were compatible with an MRI. I was always told the health services in the south were bad but I never expected this level of incompetence. read more

I had to find a new cardiologist and I'm very impressed with the referral I got from my PCP. He sent me to Cardiology Associates and by the luck of the draw I got Karl V. Hakmiller, MD, FACP, FACC specializing in clinical & invasive cardiology who got his MD at Tufts AND he's a New England Patriots fan, how cool is that?! Trust me it's cool. They have got their in-house and online tech in order. You can request an appointment online and in the Access Patient Portal access you can request a prescription refill, submit questions and update information plus another portal for a quick and easy way to pay your bill online. It's pretty slick and works well, I like good tech. Recommend! read more

This is the most incompetent doctors office I have ever experienced in my life. If you or a loved one have a real medical condition that needs treatment, do not go here. They will not follow up or return your calls even if you say it's an emergency. I don't know how they function well enough to open their front door each day. Terrible. read more

Dr. Bunch saved my life, and then he gave his to people in the pandemic. I have a partner of his now, and I haven't gotten to know him yet. But, I can only pray that my heart continues to stay healthy and that I can continue to count on Cardiology Associates. read more

I had a very poor assessment with Dr. Douglas. He had a preconceived notion about my medical needs and order 4 new medications (without any testing) and told me I had heart failure. Pursued a second opinion from a cardiologist outside Cardiology Associates. After stress test and echocardiogram, I was told I have no heart issues and was not ordered to take any new medication. Dr . Douglas was narcissistic and would not listen to my concerns. He diagnosed me without testing, and generally was dismissive of my questions. Dr. Thornton is absolutely amazing and was very thorough about my uncles upcoming valve replacement surgery and his Nurse Jaimie was absolutely Outstanding with all her help and she above and beyond with getting all of my uncles test in order before he had this surgery. This is absolutely the worst medical organization I have ever come in contact with. When prompted by the pharmacy that I use, to have a prior authorization completed, so that my Tri Care for Life will cover the cost of the medicines that they prescribe, they never respond. I have seen these prior authorization forms and they are very easy to complete. One of these meds will cost me $1800 per month and the other $600. Try Care will charge me about $28 each...... Also, they are very lax to inform me of appointments... When I first started going there, I enrolled in their patient portal online, and it is totally useless..... I am really disappointed in something as important as this..... read more

Dr. Thornton saved my life the other night. I woke up with what felt like an elephant on my chest. Horrific pain that would not go away. After the slowest ambulance in history finally inched up my driveway, they got me to Thomas where the ER staff was literally miraculous. I had a 100% blockage of the LAD and only my wife's quick-thinking (and knowledge of where our very old bottle of nitroglycerin was) and their very fast turnaround saved my life. Protocol gives them 90 minutes from the door of the ER to the cath lab and they had me there in less than 40. I was literally dying and they saved me. I am so incredibly grateful. The last thing I remember is Dr. Thornton coming in and I was in excruciating pain. He assured me that all would be well. Next thing I know, I was awake and joking that he was getting a 5 star review on yelp. Thank God for Dr. Thornton and the amazing team at Thomas! read more

Gary C. 05/09/2019 Overall Professionalism Whats wrong with this picture? Your almost 102 yr old Mother is in the hospital over the weekend and Dr Trotter sees her one on one whenever. He along with the hospital Drs decide she should be on Hospice. She vaguely remembers seeing him. She does not hear well. I feel like it would have been nice to have talked to Dr Trotter. After all it is my Mom we are talking about. So I called his office and offered to make an appointment or maybe he could call me. I got the switchboard and was transferred and shortly someone called me back and "asked" me what I wanted. I am sure the Dr will get his MONEY from Mom's insurance for his visits to see her and discuss what was to be done in her condition. Please understand that if I had seen his Mother and He wanted to speak to me about her condition, I would have had a few minutes of my time to give him comfort and consideration. I hesitated in writing this but the more I thought about it the more disgusted I became. read more

Dr. Trice and Dr. Robichaux are good Dr.'s. However, their staff is very incompetent and lack common sense. They really do not care about their patients based on our experience with the staff. My father went down with a cardiac event while vacationing in Gulf Shores. While the Dr.'s did a fine job in getting him back on his feet, the follow up care required appt. scheduling and testing at the Cardiology Associates offices. That is where this really bad experience got even worse. Again, good doctors...bad, bad service from the staff. Avoid. read more
