Ok. What can I say about Dr Karlsberg... caring.thorough , wicked smart and certainly on top of his game. He leaves nothing to chance and gets to bottom of things fast. I think I'm one of his more complicated patients and his expertise has given me another 100k miles. his staff is superb and answers questions by phone or portal of which I wasn't a fan before coming here. I love it. I would strongly recommend his concierge program. No waiting... for anything including diagnostics. His office fights like h&ll to get prescriptions authorized. It's a fine tuned machine. I first went to CVMG to see one of their senior physicians. I just didn't click with him; he was always hyperbolic, and kept trying to bill me for things that were already covered AND PAID by my insurance. As time went on, I was mainly being treated by his non-doctor assistant, and so I started looking for other options. A friend referred me to Dr. Carlos Quesada, and what a difference. Dr. Quesada is a younger physician, but he has impressive credentials, having trained at Harvard and the Mayo Clinic; he brings fresh eyes to patient care. Appointments are on time; I have never waited more than a few minutes to see him. He spends ample time during consultations, making sure all my concerns are taken care of. Dr. Quesada is very caring and gentle; he calls and discusses test results personally and has visited me in the hospital at Cedars-Sinai. There is no one who would take better care of me than him. My wife and children are also his patients now, and we couldn't be happier with him. He is truly all one could hope for in an internist and cardiologist: knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated. read more

Office experience- witnessed verbal abuse of seniors in the lobby, when asked for the manager they refused until I told them I witnessed senior abuse, and needed to speak with the manager. I do not take verbal abuse lightly. When I finally spoke with the manager, she downplayed the experience my mom, and two other patients had with that nurse. There are four witnesses to this abuse. She said there was no complaint form when I asked for one, and said that she can assure me that this nurse is just more ridgid with time. If a patient is hard of hearing and doesnt come back right away, no nurse, doctor, manager, or CEO has a right to yell at a patient. It is called a medical accomodation, and loosing your temper with a patient is a problem, and yelling at a senior is abuse. I cannot imagine what that nurse does to patients behind closed doors, she felt empowered enough to yell at patients in front of other patients. Why does your medical facility not have a formal complaint process? This may be a private company but you will have to answer to the state, since a formal complaint was sent. I would not feel comfortable letting my mom, or any senior go to this facility alone ever. Shame on that nurse and shame on the manager. read more

I see Dr Allen Lew of Cardiovascular Medical Group of Beverly Hills for hypertension, tachycardia, a history of familial heart disease (CAD). Dr Allan takes the worry, stress & anxiety out of the experience. He actually takes the time to listen, gets to know his patients & knows how to have great conversations with his patients. He's extremely thorough, and only performs tests that are necessary to get to bottom of ones cardiovascular issues. He gets back to you promptly & always responds to emails quickly. Dr. Samuels and Dr. Swerdlow are both the pinnacle in their field. I'm answering for both myself and my wife. My wife had been diagnosed with bradycardia and wanted a second opinion. She didn't feel comfortable with a second opinion. So we talked to good friends which led us to Dr. Samuels. Dr. Samuels was absolutely fantastic. Took all the Time in the world to listen to my wife, answered all her questions, and that was that. Tests revealed that she was probably going to need a pacemaker. So, from there we were referred to Dr. Swerdlow, who is also a doctor within the Cardiovascular medical group. Dr. Swerdlow is the absolute best at what he does. Period. Dr. Swerdlow has been around forever and has seen it all. My wife was a clear-cut case. He explained exactly what he was going to do to the letter and it was off to surgery for my wife. Her surgery went off without a hitch, her scar is minimal, you can barely see the pacemaker, if at all. And her life is completely changed! 1000% difference! I felt so comfortable with doctors that I made my cardiovascular check up appointment immediately. I too saw Dr. Samuels and I too couldn't be happier! These gentlemen are fantastic doctors and we couldn't say enough about them! The staff is unbelievable. The gals at the front desk are as nice as could be, and as helpful as could be (StephanIe is the best!). Not to mention Dr. Samuels assistant, Lorraine! I was reluctant to write this review but I feel it's necessary. Do NOT go to this medical establishment. I'd give zero stars if I could. I was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect at 47 (although I never had any issues or symptoms, I took on a primary care doctor there, and he just wanted a baseline since I had never had any cardiac testing-- and apparently they found it). I was told I would need yearly monitoring and (most possibly) eventual surgery. That turned out to be four tests per year-- and because they have an insane and greedy "concierge fee" of about $300 if you want more than one test done per day, I was going back all month, basically-- at about $800 copay. I never got any feedback from my doctor after all the time spent on these tests for several years. I tried to reach out to their secretary countless times with questions about the issue as well as results for my tests (none were ever relayed to me) and would get no response. The only time I ever saw or spoke to the doctor was during my yearly physical, which had to be booked about nine months in advance. It's absolutely impossible to speak to him outside of your visit and all communication is done through a portal that first goes through his secretary and then she relays the information. Absolute bs. To be fair, he was nice enough (in the room) and so was the front office staff and nurses, but his secretary and the administrative staff were usually cold, curt, haughty, and dismissive. I felt extremely lost and overlooked, but felt the doctor (and that's who matters right?) was so preeminent in his field that he must be on top of things. Well, I finally mustered up some self respect, I found another primary care physician and also found another cardiologist (as mentioned, apparently my issue needed yearly monitoring). My new cardiologist tried to get the records showing the congenital defect from this office but to no avail. So he did his own. Guess what? No defect. We did an MRI to be sure, because I found it hard to believe this esteemed group would misdiagnose such a basic structural defect-- especially with 16 tests over the past several years (and no one knew what they were monitoring??) Well... MRI also showed no defect. \ As grateful as I was, I was furious. How did no one know my "issue" before all that testing? They obviously would have had a clear view. Did my doctor never look at the tests he ordered over those years? I was floored. I wrote to him, and got a very general apology for feeling completely disregarded during my time spent there as a patient, but none for the misdiagnosis. Unacceptable and I wish I had never stepped foot in their office. I would have saved a lot of money, countless hours, worry, stress, and several years of believing this was something I would be living with for the rest of my life. If they have too many patients to do good work, and they're too lazy, uninterested, or arrogant to pay attention to their individual patients, then they are he worst of what doctors should aspire to be. Yesterday I met with Dr Quesada. I was tended to quickly by the office staff and everyone was friendly, maintaining exceptionally strict safety precautions given the current issues with COVID. Dr. Quesada was very helpful and thorough, providing me answers to all my questions. He reviewed all my lab work as soon as they came back (I have a patient portal via cedars) and he encouraged me to ask questions as well. I really appreciate his attention to detail and excellent bedside manner. A big advantage is that the office provided many imaging services in-house and has their own lab so I didn't need to ping pong around different buildings to get my stuff done it was all there! BEWARE - trust the other reviews. The billing department! WOW! Horrible. Awful. Shocking. I actually very much liked Dr. Samuels but I have been dealing with the business office since August of 2024 - that's 7 months - to try and figure out my account. I never once received an itemized statement with individual charges just totals due so I had to refer to the insurance claims they submitted to realize I was actually owed money. I was able to get that back and thought our issue was resolved but received a statement for another $92 owed them and trying to get it resolved with either Kimberly or Jasmin has been a joke. Jasmin was actually rude to me this morning when I asked for a breakdown of all of the charges so I could see exactly where I owed them the money. She told me to refer to my insurance. Yes, I have! It's maddening really. Let's hope my account does not go to collections but I'll be shocked if we get it resolved in time for their own 10 day deadline! Despicable. read more

Doctors are amazing, so are majority of the staff but what we noticed are some employees have extreme entitlement levels, are rude with attitude and they address patients as.. hey, bro or ey. This review is for Dr Samuels. I was referred to him by my endocrinologist after she discovered a low resting heart rate. The doctor was nice, apologizing for making me wait (that's a first!), was easy to talk to, and answered all my questions. The appointment process is easy if you are already in cedars sinai system and they'll call to confirm your appointment the day before. I haven't run across any issues yet with billing or anything like that. Make sure you don't park in the building. Cash only and they charge an arm and a leg. The parking lot next door is an hour free and lots of lots around Beverly hills offers two hours free. read more

After contracting Covid, I had to find a cardiologist for heart symptoms. A very dear friend recommended I go see Dr Karlsberg at the Cardiovascular Medical Group of Southern California. While the quality of health care I received was excellent, my experience with the billing and accounting department was so bad I decided to take my health care to another practice. The office lost my heart monitor, and I was assured that I would not be billed for that visit. I was still charged, and the accounting staff refused to listen to anything I said. I was charged the wrong amount for each of my three first visits, then on the 4th one I was asked to pay the difference, only to receive later another bill for the 4th visit, for which I was already charged. The accounting staff never returns call, and you do get someone over the phone, they are as efficient as a robocall repeating, "You have to pay your co-pay sir" I do understand that I have to pay the co-pay, thank you, I am not as stupid as you imply, however, there is a discrepancy between what I paid and what I am being asked to pay now. The only answer was sighs of frustration and not-so-discrete "oh my god" comments over the phone. It baffles me how such competent doctors can be surrounded by such terrible accounting staff. I am trying to solve those issues almost 4 months after my last visit. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this doctor and would certainly not recommend it to anyone. Dr. Bhatia is a kind, compassionate and incredibly smart doctor. I always feel cared for by him and am so grateful how much he listens and explains things to me in such a clear and concise way. As a woman I was reluctant to see a male cardiologist as I know things present differently in women, but I assure you that Dr. Bhatia is very up to date with women's health. I also want to acknowledge how wonderful Elizabeth is in the lab. I had my blood taken this morning by her on an empty stomach and passed out. She was so lovely and gentle with me. I'm so sick and tired of doctors who just want to take advantage of people financially. I go see this doctor, who I've been seeing for years. I talk to his assistant, and confirm he's in network. I talk to his scheduler, and confirm I want to see him as a primary care provider visit. I get there, and only when I'm THERE, do they tell me he's no longer in network for me as a primary care doctor, and is now exclusively a cardiologist, which makes him a specialist, which raises the amount of money I got to pay him. I can't tell if these people are lying or incompetent, but I had to pay triple what I was going to pay. On top of that, THEY BLAMED ME for the mixup, even though I emailed my insurance info to them ahead of time, and confirmed over the phone. The audacity of these morons is astounding. Also, they keep trying to get my blood tests done at their out of network lab, which means I need to pay them even MORE money! A bunch of lying scum buckets they are! read more

Hard to blood cots in the past went to see him after he was highly recommended he did a battery of tests and bottom line I had old dry blood in my arteries I've been throwing blood clots. So I just called this office. And I am SHOCKED at the level of service to patients looking for help from a qualified Doctor. I was told by the receptionist that Dr Bhatia pretty much cherry picks his patients, that you cannot schedule an appointment with him, unless you are referred by a specific Doctor , but she cannot tell me which doctor I can see, to get a referral, even if I don't need a referral from a primary. Then, I asked if I can see another doctor in their office, and she said, she cannot schedule me with another Doctors, unless I looked up their website, and then requested with her another Dr by name, which is strange to me, as many offices will say, well you can't see this doctor but we have these other doctors you CAN see. SO I pulled the website up, and began to just run down the names of the doctors on their site, and the next doctor she said, he only takes certain patients so no. Then named another name , and she said he is very particular and doesn't take all patients, so I named another name, ( since she couldn't just HELP me ) and say who I COULD see. and she said " this doctor is taking new patients, but, you have to pay him 500 upfront, in case there are any cost associated that insurance doesn't cover . " HUH??? so you want me to pay, for something that I may not even owe later? pay upfront for what?? you haven't done anything yet. I"m sorry, that is GREEDY and unscrupulous to me. DO these doctors care about people?? or just what money they can make upfront??? most won't even see you!!! The front desk and nurses are extremely pleasant and helpful, and I've found them to be very prompt in replying to phone calls, questions, etc. I imagine we wish all doctors could be like Dr. Bhatia. Although clearly a busy man, I always feel he takes the time to ask the right questions, and answer all of mine, even if they fall outside of the specific realm of "cardiovascular" related issues. My cardiologist is Dr. Sharma and he is the only doctor who didn't just write off my heart concerns as anxiety. He truly listened and without hesitation said, "Lets figure out what this is." After a few tests, turns out I have a heart condition. As much as this was scary to hear, I was so happy to at least know what my situation was and address it. I am so grateful and feel so lucky to have him as a doctor. I recently recommended him to another friend of mine and Dr. Sharma saved his life. I cannot recommend this doctor enough. Dr. Satinder Bhatia has spent more time with me in the last 3 months than my NYU Med Ctr Cardiologist did in the last 3 years. His state of the art equipment was able to non invasively find that my bypass grafts are fully open and give myself and my family peace of mind. The office was very clean and filled with a hardworking, nice staff from the receptionists to the nurses and to of course the reputable Dr. Bhatia. He treated my first visit just as serious as I feel he would treat any and all visits, as he really wanted to get to know me personally and properly test my health. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to the part that you will be responsible for anything that is unreimbursed! They added a $500 consultation fee to me and to make matters worse, as most people I signed without reading and NO help with explanations. DO NOT sign you agree to arbitration as well. They will take full advantage. To make matters worse after I went through the same tests that my cardiologist did nothing exceptional or different they had the audacity to tell me they couldn't do anything!
