My mother's health continued to decline and Mariam attended to her every need from doctor visits to medication monitoring and administration, including scheduling appointments on many levels. Mariam understood my mother's mood swings as dementia took over my mother's life. She was cheerful and caring and treated my mother as if she were her own family. Mariam and her people shopped, prepared my mother's meals and as my mother's motor skills became limited they even hand fed her. Mariam is very knowledgable about health issues and was extremely helpful in anticipating health problems and communicated issues with us very well. Most important, my mother was looked after by people who cared about her and treated her kindly and with respect and dignity. Mariam was with my mother and our family during her last days and right to the end. I cannot express how much Mariam and her staff did to help all of us - we would have been lost without her. Mariam is a professional in every sense of the word.

We were able to feel secure in knowing there was always someone kind and experienced to be with her when we couldn't be - and this also allowed her to maintain her dignity and live comfortably in her own home. Her caretaker was with her until the end and became like a family member to us. We will always be grateful.

I was awakened at 5am every day so that the staff could bathe my incontinent roommate before shift change. During shift change, it was impossible to get assistance even after pressing the urgent call bell. Three times I waited over an hour to get help. Most of the nurses were nice, but there was one who kept yelling at me. When I asked her not to yell, she said she wasn't yelling and that she just had a loud voice. The food was awful. I have a restricted diet and the kitchen couldn't manage to get me meals that I could actually enjoy. On several occasions, my dinner consisted of 4 slices of dry bread toasted on one side and a pile of lunch meat, with no mayo, margarine or anything else. I was given a prescription for oxycodone when I left, but my pharmacy wouldn't fill it because it was incomplete.

My grandmother suffered serious neglect during their stay, which ultimately resulted in an emergency hospital visit after they did not monitor her glucose levels properly and she was found by family hypothermic and in Hypoglycemia. The staff at Wayne Center failed to monitor her properly, allowing it to deteriorate to a critical point without taking appropriate action. When the emergency unfolded, the communication from the facility was virtually non-existent. I had to learn from hospital staff how bad things had gotten and was left in the dark about how the situation had been mishandled. The extremely rude nursing staff showed little accountability, and any attempts to get a clear explanation were met with vague responses. I have waited days for the administration to respond and they have not taken any accountability either. Not one phone call to address what took place. I would never recommend Wayne Center to anyone seeking safe, attentive, and professional care for their loved ones. Don't be fooled by the cleanliness, homey feel, or Ginger the support cat that hangs out in the lobby. This facility could have been the result of a patient's death if not found in time.

Also must be on a clock because she would call and talk to you for no more than 5 minutes and then just cut the call off, even if you were in mid-sentence with her. Didn't explain what services were available. I had asked about support groups; got yelled at instead.

Your Health Information Is NOT Confidential…read more This health system needs to be honest with patients about how their records are handled. Patients should know that their full medical chart can be accessed by far more people than most expect, not just doctors or nurses. Check-in staff, vitals technicians, and other staff members with broad access credentials can view a patient's entire history. Sensitive information also isn't separated, and privacy controls that are typically available in modern electronic health record systems are not being used. In addition, break-the-glass protections, which are meant to guard the most private parts of a patient's record, are not enabled for outpatient care. Since the majority of care occurs in outpatient settings, this makes patient information more exposed than patients would reasonably assume. The system also lacks transparency when it comes to record access. When asked who accessed a medical record, Mainline Health declined to provide an audit log. Without an audit log or similar reporting, patients have no practical way to understand how their information is being used or who accessed it. Overall, patients deserve clear privacy practices and meaningful safeguards. Right now, protections are inadequate, and patients are not receiving the transparency and control they should have.
