I was scheduled for a COVID test here. Despite having testing fully covered by my insurance, without exception or qualification, CareCube insisted that they would only accept direct payment from me for the test, despite their public claim to accept insurance for testing. There were also sick patients in the waiting room who told the receptionist that they had been exposed to COVID but no effort was made to separate them from other patients or the staff. Bottom line - this place is a health risk and a fraud. Don't go here. read more

Be careful making an appointment or expecting to be able to get tested at CareCube locations. I made an appointment (several days in advance) to get tested at their 153 7th Ave (Park Slope) location, to get a PCR test for Covid, only to find when I showed up at the scheduled time, the location was entirely closed. I called the location's phone number several times, got no answer. Called the central CareCube phone number and was told that appointments are optional; yeah, that's not how appointments are supposed to work. Optional or no, when a customer / patient makes an appointment, that's supposed to mean that they can expect the staff to be there, open, staffed, and ready for them. I made this appointment for 11am on a Monday, needing a PCR test within 72 hrs before my flight to Tokyo. If I hadn't been able to get tested that day, because of this nonsense with the location being unexpectedly closed, my entire travel plans could have been ruined. Thankfully I was able to get tested at the 408 7th Ave location, where staff were kind and professional and everything went smoothly. But the attitude of the staff member on the phone, making only excuses and no apologies for an entire location being closed when I had made an appointment specifically, explicitly, to go there at that time to get tested, is unbelievable. My main request is that this location practice social distancing between patients seated in the waiting area, there are no floor decals nor is every other seat spaced or marked off to encourage the fact that we must social distance. If I could give this place -5 stars I would. Made an apt a day ahead and asked what my copay would be with my insurance. Never got a response but had three people call to confirm my apt and say they didnt know how much my copay will be. The waiting room is so tiny with no windows so you're pushed up against about 20 people who may or may not be sick. I waited for 45 minutes after my scheduled apt time and finally got into a private room, in which the door didn't close all the way and I could hear people yelling in the other rooms. The nurse (who was the one saving grace, she was very nice and helped answer some questions) told me that there were still EIGHT people ahead of me. The people in the front have absolutely no idea what they're doing either. Save yourself the trouble and go literally anywhere else. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Do not come here and get tested, they are completely unprofessional and will charge you incorrectly. I was incorrectly charged $175 for a Rapid Test even though my insurance covers it. I was exposed to COVID and was experiencing symptoms. On top of that, the test wasn't even a rapid test, and I received my results the next day AFTER phoning them and reminding them where my results are. Worst part is when I am trying to file a claim under my insurance to get my money back, this company REFUSES to provide me with their provider tax id information. I wonder how many people they have incorrectly charged. If you can go get tested anywhere else, I highly recommend you do that. I have submitted a complaint against them and 311 is in the process of investigating this facility. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

Hope that it isn't unfair to say: Based on my personal experience, I wouldn't recommend this facility, or alternately... only go to this provider if you have $1000 to spend on unexpected lab tests. Going to Carcube on Pitkin (in my network) they decided to perform bloodwork, oddly, adding additional tests that I did not request. Since receiving the $1k bill from the lab, Carecube has told me a veriety of explanations, like: it is b/c of my deductible (which is $200), and: it's not their responsibility to see if their lab is covered by a patients' insurance... basically anything to get me to shut up and pay the bill myself, which it looks as if I will be doing. My insurance provider has now called them multiple times requesting they resubmit the original claim w another code so they may pay the bill, to no avail. This is far from the worst thing to happen to someone as a result of a simple visit to an in-network provider... but I would not have walked in that door, had I done more research. Sidenote: The Doctor was otherwise helpful, very pleasant, and clearly overworked. Hope this is helpful. read more

*** If you get a Rapid test at the Park Slope location, be prepared to NEVER receive your results, but be charged $$ anyway! *** I had a rapid and PCR done at the Park Slope location, paid $125 out of pocket for the rapid. They said typical wait time for rapid results was 3 hours and I should get an email. I waited all day and night, keeping my elderly parents waiting, since I didn't want to infect them, but still received NO email. The next day I had to walk back down to the clinic and ask in person what had happened. It took the staff a few minutes but they figured out that they in fact HAD had my results but "must have forgotten to email them" to me (as the doctor told me). They told they would give me a refund--because what is the point of paying $125 for a rapid test when you don't get the results on time or ever? They told me to contact CareCube offices, which I did. It has taken months for them to respond, but the offices finally told me that they would NOT honor my refund and that "there was nothing they could do." I have worked in customer service for a long time, and if the store/company/provider messes up and does not provide the service they promise, they REFUND THE CUSTOMER. Especially in a a high stakes health crisis situation like this, I would think it would be of the integrity of the company to make up for their mistake at least by NOT keeping the money I paid them for a service they ultimately did not provide. read more

The staff was nice and stuff but they take forever with the test results 3-5 day most places are saying period. I went to Modern MD and you get it back within 1.5 day like common guys what's the hold up yall going to take the hole 5 days SMFH. read more

I must say this Dr office saved my life, 4 years ago, I felt a sense of loyalty, now I don't know, since the pandemic services have been shaky, I need referrals they know about, I call rings a few then click hang up not professional at all, maybe time for a new doctor, definitely taking my grandchildren outtakes there, they say Dr will call at this time never happens, I have medical needs, calling my HMO make sure they don't charge my insurance for services not rendered. read more
