I was very disappointed in my experience with Career Smart. I was contacted by the owner who wanted to fill a position requiring my experience. The initial contact was followed by an hour long phone interview to review my resume, skills, etc. In addition, I was asked to fill out multiple application forms and to provide substantial documentation of past performance reviews, references, etc. to "prove" that I was a "good performer". According to the owner, this was necessary as her reputation rests on providing only well-vetted candidates to her clients. From the time I was contacted, there was a frantic push from the owner to get all of my information together as quickly as possible. I jumped through hoops to deliver, even interviewing with her on a weekend to accommodate her rush. After spending hours digging up old reviews and e-mails and calling former bosses to request records and recommendations, I heard nothing more from Career Smart. Apparently the position I was being considered for never materialized. Instead of calling to fill me in, the owner just stopped communicating. I invested time and effort after the owner sought me out. I did not approach her looking for an opportunity. The courteous and professional course of action in this case would have been for her to update me on the progress (or lack of progress) and to thank me for my time. As with the previous review, I went through the same experience. The Owner, Patsy, wasted my time after SEVERAL skills assessments, phone and in person interviews. She seems nice and even interested in helping you when you speak with her, but then never follows up and will not respond to you unless you call and basically catch her when she comes to the phone. I just think when you know people are looking for employment, you don't have to lie or lead them on. Just set the expectation that you will contact that person if you are able to move forward. And don't act like you want to place someone that you obviously do not think you will be able to place. I wonder how she would feel if she were jerked around like that... read more

I was very impressed with my experience with Career Smart. They are very friendly and professional. After applying for a job on line I received a call from Career Smart. They were very efficient and helpful in reaching my goal to achieve the position. I particularly was impressed with the companies methodology through out the hiring process.
