BE AWARE! if you are on Medicare, Optum uses its own insurance codes for standard routine or annual gynecologic exams which can not be accepted by Medicare. Even though these exams are Medicare acceptable with the correct codes, Optum chooses to substitute their own, so you are forced to pay their own high bills. I have been using their mammography services for years. How is it that every time I try to call their line to make an appointment, their line puts me on hold for over half an hour. I often give up. The reason I continue to go is because the lady who goes the mammography is great!!! She has nothing to do with their scheduling, so I don't want to punish her by limiting her clients. That is why there are 2 stars. Other than that, which I mean is a big deal, I have an issue connecting to their scheduling office. If you are not already going there, then don't. Too big and spread out. Making appointments for one office only to find they auto-assigned to another in a different town. Must check in online and will ALWAYS have carry over fees staff 'cannot see' that must be paid in order to check in. Try following up with their billing person and no one is there- or they don't 'see' the same thing on their screen. Leave a voicemail and know it won't be returned. Clinical staff is great but their infrastructure and internal operations are god-awful and borderline criminal. Sorry this is the only service your insurance covers... we're stuck and screwed. read more

This practice is absolutely terrible. It's gotten even worse since Optum purchased the practice. I've been on hold for 45 minutes trying to reach my nurse while the recording tells me every 30 seconds that "personal attention is given to every caller". If they didn't have a monopoly on the region they'd be out of business. Next complaint is to the NY State AG. I am an 80 year old male in good health. My CareMount doctor, who has been my family doctor for over 25 years, retired in April 2021. During my last appointment in April, he suggested that I make an appoint 6 months hence to meet his replacement. My appointment was in October with a young doctor, who was 3 years out of med school. The visit was classified as a "new patient visit,,,,,30 - 44 minutes." The consultation lasted less than 10 minutes and she never even put a stethoscope to my chest. The content of her conversation was generic and didn't address my concerns. I was very disappointed with our meeting. read more

They never answer the phone. Doesn't matter what department you call. They have one receptionist per department that is always helping other patients. Poor service poor communication lack of interest in child care. Always on hold for more than 15mins at a time no matter what you need help with. A virtual visit is the same experience has going into the office. Nurses assist aren't worth a damn. They do not communicate your issues correctly. You have to call repeatedly to get a person. If you go to caremount, bring a healthcare advocate who can lead you thru all the loops required to contest a billing error. The administration is so convoluted and confusing, you need a guide. Do not be surprised if after all your time and trouble, you reach a dead end. This is what happens when a business gets way too big - and yes, remember this is a large profit-making business. If you enjoy this kind of challenge - well good luck and have a good time. If I could leave zero stars I would. I was very sick with Covid19 symptoms last spring. They set up the test for me. It came back negative. The nurse called me to tell me. I said if it's negative then what is wrong with me? The snippy nurse was very dismissive and said it's probably allergies. That was it, she hung up.. No follow up etc. I coughed for 3 1/2 months. I was so sick. It was brutal. I came to find out later that I should have been retested. I had every sign of the virus. It took months to come back from it. I will never go back to them. I was so sick and scared. This is not how people should be treated. I have a new dr now. They also need to update their phone system It is near impossible to reach a human. read more

I took a friend to urgent care today. When we arrived no one was at the waiting room desk. The entire room was empty. There was a card saying to sign in accros the hall in podiatrist office. After filling out paper work we were told we could go the waiting room in urgent care. There was now a man and a little girl waiting to be seen. They were taken in right away. Again the room was now empty. Ten minutes later they came back out. Still no one but my friend and I left in the waiting room. After a half hour of waiting in an empty room we desided it was a waist of our time sitting and waiting. We left but at the desk (now the receptionest was back) I told her we were not waiting any longer. She said they were busy in the back. Mind you the only two people that went in and then back out in ten minutes were the man and little girl. We left and went to Emergency one on Hurley Ave and were seen with in ten minutes. I would NEVER go there or recommend them to anyone. One star is being very kind to them. read more

While I've never had an issue with the OB/GYNs here (which is great!) the administration however is another story. Ever since Rhinebeck Women's Health was acquired by Mount Kisco Medical Group and now currently, CareMount Medical the administration has been not only been slow to respond, but in some cases there has been attitude. This has been the case both on the phone and in person...multiple times so it's hard for me to chalk it up to a single bad day. It seems as though their phone strategy is to screen all calls. Since the transition I have not once called and been in touch with an actual human being-it's always an answering machine. This is frustrating and unprofessional in my opinion. If it weren't for the wonderful doctors (which are the truly important part anyway) I would surely be looking for an alternative option. read more

Pediatrics in Kingston/ Lake Katrine has nursing staff who are without a shred of empathy or professionalism! Do not trust the care of your children to this office! They will mistreat and harm your children. When I called to complain, I was told that the nursing station acts up on days they are not being overseen by the head nurse and office manager! Even when scolded by the Dr. there was no change in their behavior. And when I spoke up to them at the nurses station, they stared at me, then loudly berated me when I walked away. We all want the best for our children, especially when they are ill. The staff at this office intentionally hurt my sick child because they were not able or willing to control themselves. My kids see dr Shnayder. We recently moved to ulster county from NYC. I absolutely love Dr Shnayder he is the BEST doctor I have brought any of my kids to and I have seen my share of amazing doctors living in Manhattan. Unfortunately in 2007 my first child passed away from SIDS less than 48 hours after receiving her 2 month vaccinations so any vaccination for my children has been difficult after that. I now have another daughter and I feared her 2 month appointment from the moment I found out I was pregnant. Dr Shnayder took the time to research an article I had found explaining everything to me and of course the importance of these shots. The nurses are also amazing and Tina I've always had a great experience at the office. Definitely recommend him. He has been helpful in my breastfeeding journey and is a intact friendly doctor. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE. I had nothing but issues with this company with my primary doctor and the gyno department. They confuse me and my mother constantly. I call to reup my prescription that I've taken for years and I get asked if "the doctor has prescribed this medicine for me before because it's not in my chart" then I get a call from my pharmacy that I have a prescription there and it's my medicine but it was changed. So I call to just talk to a nurse and see why it was changed and the guy who I talked to was completely rude and apparently there was no nurse for me to talk to, he told me an on call doctor could call me so I said ok. The on call doctor called me and said "this is an inappropriate phone call for Saturday" and I said "inappropriate? I just wanted so answers." And because I have Had SO many issues with this practice yes I got a little heated and said that it was bullshit. Also their gyno department is atrocious. They did not care for me like they should have. I lost 2 babies on their watch and they were so careless about it. The second time they way I was told was "oh yea it died". Unfortunately, I cannot even rate this location. But I wish I had read the reviews before I made the decision to schedule an appointment for my special needs son who is diagnosed with autism and is mentally challenged. I went to the Lake Katrine office for an eye doctor appointment for him. A nurse by the name of Sarah was doing the first initial eye assessment in which my son needed to place his head and chin on the machine in which she needed to take pictures of his eyes. My son again who is special needs has to be redirected in a sense of patience in order to follow instructions. Sarah was very aggressive in explaining what my son needs to do, so that she can get I guess a clear picture of his eye. She kept repeating the same thing to him "open your eyes, keep your chin on the holder and lean your hear forward" she stated this repeatedly in a very aggressive and impatient manner. I explained to her that he was autistic and mentally challenged so patience is needed. She shrugged me off and continued to be aggressive towards him. Long story short, Sarah continued to be aggressive I in turn became upset at the unprofessionalism, arrogant, racist demeanor that she portrayed during the whole time to the point that I became upset at the way she treated my son, and kept going on an on to the point I in turn told her to shut up already! (she successfully hit that nerve) She then stated that she was going to get someone else to assist us. As we waited, Doctor Pandolfo came in and stated "that due to the fact that we did not get along with her staff they would not be able to provide services to my son". Why am I not surprised!! They feel they are privileged and we are supposed to say yes mam, no mam and bow our heads to them. One thing I have to say from this experience I should have never let them get the best of me, I gave them too much power. read more

So I stopped going here 5 years ago and have since been seen elsewhere because I was over it... not being able to reach anyone on the phone or get a call back, appts being scheduled several months out, just frustrating things. Planned Parenthood offered what I needed and they were way more together - efficient, friendly, knowledgeable. When it came time for prenatal care, I (somewhat reluctantly) called CareMount and I can't even describe the attitude I got on the phone. The woman threatened not being able to get me in in time (within a month) and having me miss "important testing". I was so taken back; especially because I'm overly friendly and polite if anything. I scheduled an appt and then stewed for a while at how this process was kicking off, and ultimately called back and cancelled to go somewhere else. Ultimately, the practitioners seem to be very good but the hoops you have to jump through to receive care from them are not worth it in my opinion. read more

Seriously considering looking for another doctor as I cannot stand the level of customer service I am currently receiving at this facility. The doctor is actually kind and competent but the ancillary staff that run the office are absolutely horrendous. When calling to get prescription sent to another pharmacy, and a 90 day refill quantity my new insurance required, I ran into a two week nightmare involving multiple calls to the insurance company, the pharmacy and the doctors office. This could've been simply handled by the doctor calling up and authorizing the 90 day refill instead of having me jump through endless hoops to try to get this authorized on my own. When I explained to Kathleen, the secretary for my doctor, that I needed these refills filled and that I had left multiple messages *over two weeks* trying to handle this situation (additionally informing her that at this point I was pretty much out of my diabetic medication) she finally agreed to call the insurance company and take care of this issue. I work in healthcare and I know wrangling with insurance companies can be difficult but there's no reason why a patient should be made to get authorizations from an insurance company that the doctor is responsible for providing. This is not the first run and I have had trying to either get appointment set up, paperwork from the doctor that was needed, or a simple refill for a prescription. This shouldn't be a difficult process nor should it be as frustrating as it's been made to be. Dr. Pascretti needs to look into getting more office staff or more professional office staff. This is my final strike with this doctor, if I have another problem like this I will be looking elsewhere for a more professional clinic. read more

I set up an appointment 2 months in advance to get a second opinion on a hernia diagnosis I had gotten from another doctor. During my visit here i arrived at the check in about 3 minutes late and because i was late i was talked down to and had to wait while they took another couple in which is fine but i had all of my information filled out before they did. The nurse took me in and was rude and just in general not very nice. The doctor (Heller) comes in confused as to why i was there I explained to him why i was there he still didn't understand why i went there for another opinion.. Anyways the opinion i got was that I was fat and chubby (his terms not mine) and that it may be caused by extra strain on my abdomen. So I went from having 3 supposed hernias to none and i was insulted. Not a good experience by any means and all of these healthcare professionals are far from professional and have a severe lack of communication skills. read more

I just brought my son for their flu clinic and was told that they would not give him a flu shot because we were 2 minutes late. We were there at 4:57. I asked them what there hours are and they said 8:30 - 4:55. This is for children so what parent can get their child there within those hours?!?! So, basically, I have to take off of work to bring my son to get. One minute flu shot at a walk-in clinic. The woman who gives the flu shot was there and she asked another employee if she could give it. The other woman said, "No" because we were two minutes late. It wasn't as though they had a long line. There was no one else there! I then spent the next hour driving around trying to find a place that would give a flu shot to a child but every where I went, they could not give it to children. When I got home, I checked the CareMount Medical website and it said that flu shots are given from 8:30-5:00 so I actually was there on time. So, my son still does not have his flu shot. I will persist in getting him immunized because we have an immune-suppressed family member in our home but how many other people will just no get it putting their child and others around them at risk?!?! I am very disappointed with CareMount Medical over this issue! read more
