I was feeling very miserable. I tried to contact my Hershey doctor but could not get in to be seen for 5 days. I got on line and reserved a spot to be seen at Bellefonte Careworks Urgent Care. The LPN at the desk was so pleasant and helpful, the nurse who took my vitals was very caring and the PA was fabulous! Turns out I had infection in both my eyes and infection in my ear. If I would have waited 5 days I can't image how miserable I would have been. Thank you Careworks Urgent Care for being there and providing this service. I would highly recommend Careworks Urgent Care. When you are sick you do not need the run around, you need caring compassionate healthcare! read more

I took my daughter for an x-ray of her ankle and was told it would take an hour after the x-ray to hear from them regarding the results. It took 8 days! And we called them multiple times during this 8 day period. UNACCEPTABLE!!! Also, we learned that she has a fracture, but were told she most likely didn't and to be sure to walk on it some so it wouldn't get stiff. Her PCP advised just the opposite, no weight on it, for a two-month period. Obviously, we are extremely disappointed and feel a one-star rating is appropriate. read more

I went in on a Saturday for lab work. The staff was to lazy to do it. They said they did not have anyone there to draw blood but they normally do on a Saturday. I overheard two employees talking and one said "I don't feel like drawing blood". DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE IF YOU ARE SICK !!!!! This walk in clinic is a joke. They can't even do a routine EKG on a patient. read more

Prompt and efficient service is the best description! Checked myself in on a computer screen, did the photo id, insurance info thing and was escorted right into an exam room. Sutured up and out the door in under 2 hours. Not bad for almost a dozen sutures after a close encounter with a mandolin. It was not an easy repair job either! The PA was awesome, took her time trying to approximate the edges on a jagged laceration. It was not easy finding a place to get care, either. Susquehanna Rural Free Clinic wouldn't even let me in the door and Mountain Top Medical in Snowshoe wanted nothing to do with it either. Driving around looking for care with a make shift pressure dressing dripping blood was no fun at all. Thought I would end up in State College, like 40 miles from my house, so I was very happy to have found this gem in the Pa Wilds! Really disappointed with my recent experience at this walk-in. I willingly waited for 20 minutes before the facility opened to ensure that I could get in and out and avoid a rough wait time given that I have been feeling incredibly under the weather. I was the second person to enter the facility only a few minutes after they opened, checked myself in on the computer, confirmed my insurance and was taken back almost immediately. The nurse took my vitals, did a test that she clarified only takes under 10 minutes to see results, and was told the PA would be in within 5 minutes to see me. I waited an absurd 35 minutes before the PA raced in, apologized for the delay and explained "a few unexpected things happened" and told me my test came back negative- much to my surprise given the symptoms I was having. The PA looked at the swollen and enflamed area for hardly 3 seconds before telling me I'd be put on a medicine to reduce the soreness and that my test would be sent into the lab for further evaluation. Never once did the PA offer an alternative cause to my problem, thoroughly take the time to examine what I said was bothering me, nor notice the extreme redness, and discoloring of the area that pained me. Our interaction lasted less than 5 minutes. When it was time to leave, over an hour later, the PA raced back to whatever was occurring before making the stop to my room, and I left rather irritated that I went out of my way to avoid the stress off a difficult visit which ended up being nearly useless. I will likely not be returning to this location, as this is the second time I've felt that my experience in the hands of a personal care provider was subpar. read more
