Long story short, I had never tried acupuncture before and came into my first appointment with a multitude of complaints. I had been especially struggling with eczema and anxiety. Dr. Rivera made me feel at-ease with the process of acupuncture and recommended a course of treatment. After weekly treatments for a little over 2 months, there is a night and day difference. My eczema has healed to the point where I no-longer need to use steroid creams. My anxiety levels have lowered so much that I no-longer need to have regular therapy sessions. Settled on Dr. Leigh as the location is convenient and consultation was free and thorough. Dr. Leigh is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Office manager Shaun is very pleasant and great at managing your bookings. Office is located off Armitage. I usually bike. Parking can be tricky because Armitage is going though construction. So give yourself time if driving a car. Some free parking located nearby but usually full. Office is clean and feels sanitized. Masks are required in general areas. Can remove mask during treatment. Note that near L (western/Milwaukee stop) so can be good for transportation but also can hear in treatment room if that is a concern. It doesn't bother me, I was still able to fall asleep during my treatment. That was a good nap, heating light is a blessing. I have had four sessions so far. Attending 1x a week (cost is $85 a session) I can tell the difference the acupuncture is making in my anxiety and tightness in my ligaments. I have had a few physical releases and that was reassuring to feel that things are moving. Also the cupping that Dr. Leigh did on my back was phenomenal. Unknown if acupuncture is helping with fertility. However, Dr. Leigh knows my cycle better than I do and she is been a good support while going through fertility treatments. Dr. Li was prompted in returning my initial phone call to discuss my symptoms and I was able to set up an appointment next day. Upon examining my skin, it was determined I have allergies to certain food I eat. My work-related stress level was also a main contributor to the severity of my problems. With no other alternatives, I decided to try acupuncture and drink Chinese herbal tea for the first time. I took the opportunity of my weekly acupuncture sessions to relax and clear my mind. Drinking the herbal tea daily, on the other hand, was not a pleasant experience even though it helped my issues tremendously. By adding honey as Dr. Li suggested made it bearable. In addition to giving up seafood and spicy foods, I also started using baby shampoo/lotion since most adult beauty products contain harmful chemicals. Five months after my treatment, I am happy to say the symptoms have cleared and I am better at managing my stress level. Dr. Li has an amicable bedside manner. I love the fact that he is patient and willing to listen. Never once did I feel rushed. After the treatments I received, I understand why people from out of state to seek his help. I referred two of my friends to Dr. Li. They are still under his care. I must mention Dr. Li does not working with any insurance company since none will accept his claims.
