I truly had the best experience here. I came in with a throw out back being at a 8/10 low back pain level, and left at a 1/10. Right from the start, the lady at the front desk was so warm, sweet and welcoming. With it being my first time getting acupuncture - that was exactly what I needed. I then proceeded to see Dr. Feng who was absolutely incredible. He made me feel so comfortable and listened to my problems/aches. Right away, he started advising me with tips/tricks on how I can feel better at home and ways I can improve. He then went into the treatment which was simply amazing. I cannot rate this place enough. I'm 22 and a college student, and yet I have been dealing with chronic migraines for the past eight years. I have done it all, removed food groups from my diet, Botox, acupuncture elsewhere, medications, MRI's/CTS with and without contrast, nothing ever helped. EVER. My private insurance was just piling on and on while I suffered. Meaning chronic meant I was getting migraines about everyday. Nausea, loss of vision, impairments, you name it. As a college student at Loyola, it def affected my grades and my time as a student/part time worker. However, ever since I have seen this wonderful doctor, I only get ONE migraine a month (when I get my period). Doesn't take insurance, but $50 for the pain to subsides, DONE. I have shared a lot in this review because he has given me a lot. He has stopped the pain which made me want to not live. I have more time to be a student and 22 year old. I'm on ZERO medications (except vitamins) and I am extremely lucky to have found him. All the money I spent on Northwestern medicine I could have spent it here. Dr. Feng is amazing! He's so caring, and demonstrates his care by listening to your concerns before each appointment, making sure you are ok while he puts in the needles, checking on you during your resting period (after the needles are in), asking about your family members that see him as well (who doesn't live here anymore), and ultimately, healing you. He also does cupping during the appointment, after he takes the needles out. I typically go in yearning to be healed, and walk out feeling I've made progress in my healing. I always feel so relaxed and relieved at the end of every appointment. I should really see him more often. After seeing a traditional Otolaryngologist (ENT) for persistent tinnitus and not getting any results, a guitar friend recommended Hua's. My guitar buddy has been going to Dr. Feng for years for Oriental medicine and acupuncture. Dr. Feng asks a lot of questions about your whole being, not just about the malady that brought you through the door. He'll address stress and diet at every appointment. He's great at asking if everything's okay (right?), and during each acupuncture session puts a warming lamp on my stomach and/or feet, and will check in after 10 minutes. He ends each visit with a cupping session, to treat stress and tension, and to promote circulation. What a relief it is! Hua's is affordable, but cash or check only, a minor inconvenience. And I wish the rooms were more soundproof, as it's sometimes difficult to completely relax when you can hear other people talking about their reasons for visiting, etc. Minor complaints for top notch attention and health care! read more

In my eyes, Dr. Feng is a miracle worker. I usually see him for stress, sleep issues, and muscle tightness and he gives me a full body treatment. My last appointment, I reinjured injured my neck and my back was in a full spasm, not to mention, it felt like a disk in my neck was getting compressed. I was in extreme pain and on muscle relaxers from my physician. Also, for the past year, I've been dealing with reoccurring panic attacks. At our appointment, I asked him to focus on my back/shoulder and he put about 15 needles in my back and did some cupping. It felt like I was a human dartboard and I could feel how tight my muscles were because of how the needles were going in. The acupuncture didn't hurt, and it felt so so relieving. Throughout the week, ALL of my muscles released, and my mental health issues evaporated. After a hard day of manual labor at my job, I felt my shoulders, and the muscles were soft. They're NEVER like that. Day to day I am stressed/terrified and now, I feel normal again. My appetite even came back. Another time, I inhaled a serious amount of campfire smoke on my vacation and came down with a wicked flu. I was worried about it progressing into something worse because I have asthma. Two visits, and some good health recommendations and my lungs were on the mend. I feel like the people who have that chronic cough that lasts for months could really benefit from his treatments. Most important, he's a really nice person who cares, and he knows what's up, just by looking at you. His price makes acupuncture accessible and it's easy to get an appointment. I've been seeing Dr. Feng since November 2019 and my treatment has had an extremely positive impact on my lower back problems. Woke up one morning with pain in my thumb, which I self diagnosed as trigger thumb. Getting old is the worst! I don't have enough good things to say about Dr. Feng! I was seeing another acupuncturist who was twice the price and I didn't see the results or healing quite as fast as I did with Dr. Feng! He is friendly, has a great bedside manner, kind, attentive and upbeat! He gives suggestions and listens as well without being militant or judgmental. He truly wants to help! Mei (I think I am spelling that correctly) who works at the front desk and helps is also super kind and helpful! I would recommend calling to inquire about getting an appointment! They are closed on Thursdays and Sundays but for all other days you can see about getting an appointment. It's $50 per appointment, cash or check - I definitely think because he only accepts cash or check, this is why the price isn't as high, and that's fine with me! I see Hua's Oriental Center/ Dr. Feng does not have an updated yelp review in a very long time and I feel it will only do justice to write him an updated review as I have been going to him for over 3 years now. (Off and on within the 3 years) Dr. Feng is AMAZING (God sent!) and personally the only way to go if you have any health issues. Note; I do come from a family of Western medical doctors and trust in them too however Dr. Feng has an art to the way he listens to you and heals you to your specific needs. My health problem is a little on the personal side so I will not share the details however Dr. Feug has always listened to my problem/ asked questions, broken it down to "normal people" level of explaining the problem, walked me through the steps on why I am having the problem, and then provides a natural method on how we will resolve it. To me, he is almost like a therapist with crazy mad acupuncture and cupping skills. I have called him during he's off hours or walked into he's practice crying my eyes out and he has been there to see me thought my issue. He truly cares about his patience's well-being. Final words go check him out (for everything from tight muscles, allergies, stress, skin disorder, reproductive problems to cramps and emotion); you won't be sorry. Don't pass him up because he does not have 100 reviews. You will walk out of the office with a high because you feel so relaxed and grounded. Last May, I went to Chinatown for acupuncture. I was experiencing stomach related issues and my brother in-law suggested I give Eastern Medicine a try. Within one day, my symptoms cleared! Sure, it could have been a coincidence. Though, it seemed to be beneficial and I was convinced to try it again; I wanted to try another place because the Chinatown treatment was painful in some areas. I found Hua's Oriental Center through a friend's recommendation. Thankfully, it wasn't painful like my first treatment. Dr. Feng gets an in depth patient history, talks through your problems and comes up with natural methods to solve health issues. One example, suggestion of cinnamon pills (1000mg) helped with my circulation -- feeling cold frequently in my hands and feet. My boss and I no longer fight over the thermostat. My personalized treatment includes about 15 - 20 needles for roughly 25-30 minutes with heat lamps. Lights out and a nap. Even with a bit of street noise from Addision coming through the walls, I am usually able to take a nice snooze. After this, I turn onto my stomach for "cupping" - an ancient technique using glass cups and fire. This technique is said to be 10x more effective than massage since it actually suctions your muscles to the surface, rather than pushing down on them. I continue to work with my primary and specialist doctors along with Dr. Feng. I visit him every other week for treatment. On my last scan w/ my specialists, again, my issues seemed to disappear. It was kind of unbelievable. Now, there was nothing terminal going on, but I have ultrasounds pointing to very specific problems from early 2012 which could have warranted minor surgery but my specialist suggested we monitor it. A year later, this same ultrasound was absolutely clear. Who knows if Dr. Feng was the cause of this surprise exam results. Even if not, my stress seems to float away when I'm getting treatment; and that's worth it to me. read more

I really like the service level, the location, the acupuncture, and the cupping. The only problem I have is the office isn't that pretty. XueHua does a really good job at explaining what he's doing, which is good for someone with a needle phobia like me. When he leaves the room he puts a remote for a chime (like a doorbell button) in my hand, to ring in case I need anything. I really like that. So far I've seen a big impact in my neck and shoulder tension (which is why I'm going) and I, of course, love that. The location is very convenient for me, and the price is just right. I went to Dr. Hua because a friend spoke very highly of his services. It's true he's great! He helped me with two of my issues after only 2-3 visits. I agree with another Yelper in that he has excellent bedside manners, and makes you feel very comfortable. His herbal pills are A LOT cheaper than the other herbalists' I've gone to and they actually work like a miracle. I am a skeptic when it comes to any sort of medicine but wow!
