There are always lots of shoes on sale, especially between seasons Selling a range of casual sneaks, edgy leather boots and unusual and fun heels, Graham's has a great mix of stuff that will keep you from blending in. Think of this place as a little bit indie. They sell a few brands that I have always loved - Poetic License and Irregular Choice, which I haven't found anywhere else in Dublin. The prices aren't bad, and the sale prices are awesome. Lots of pairs are half off or even more! Definitely check this place out if you're not interested in the cookie cutter party girl look.

She looked at me, realised it was unlikely that I was in to get shoes for myself (we were in the kids dept) and looked for the child that must be somewhere in tow. ...there he was... faster than a speeding bullet, diving through my legs, past the fish tank (really big, impressive and colourful) and under the benches. She looks at the legs and feet poking out, measures the feet and gets a selection of runners for himself. The selection was big and well chosen.... All bright, boyish and garish as hell. I spotted the ones he would go for immediately - not the most expensive (but not cheap), but by far the brightest most garish runners I have ever seen - they even had lights, lots of lights. Within 2 mins he had them on He didn't take them off for 3 days. Great shop, great (and very tolerant) staff.

It makes for fast, man-friendly, I came, I saw, I asked for it in the right size, I bought, shopping.

I found myself here after a pair I liked in their Grafton Street store wasn't in stock in my size. This store didn't have my size either. But I did manage to find another pair of sensible shoes I liked and bought. The staff member was very nice and all, if a bit forced. And I do not like how all Clarks staff are trained to sell the protective products your new shoes just could not do with out. That really started to grate on me today.

My first introduction to Second Avenue was on a cold spring day a few years back; as we rounded a corner on a closed up shop I wondered if we'd gone too far. A moment later the shop front appeared, blocked in by rows of Land Rovers parked right in front of the shop window. Inside there was quiet as women fanned through beautiful silks and suits hung along the wall racks. She and all staff are trained podiatrists Firstly you complete a brief basic questionnaire and then Brenda thoroughly checked my feet, ankles & toes and measured my feet both in a sitting & standing position. Then I stood on a machine which measured pressure points on both feet via infrared technology & then there was a further piece of equipment which carefully produces a three dimensional computer image of the required arch supports. Once the order was placed I am told it will be 2 to 3 weeks for them to arrive in the store & they'll call me to collect them, as they are manufactured in their lab in the US. Overall a very efficient and friendly service.

Clarks traditionally make the kind of shoes I can't help but think of as school shoes. They usually…read morestick to leather in brown, black or navy and sometimes they seem to be the last bastion of flat shoes for women! Thankfully in recent years Clarks have come to embrace the fashion element of shoes while keeping their emphasis on comfort and quality. They've broadened their range to prettier shoes, so you can still get flat shoes here but now you have the option of having flowers on them. They also do heels as well, but they usually keep them to a sensible height so you're unlikely to get vertigo from any of these shoes. Many of my favourite wearable shoes (as opposed to the beautiful but unwearable ones that populate my wardrobe and never get to go outside) over the years have come from Clarks. Shoes bought here are more likely to last longer and be wearable, but that doesn't mean you have to ignore fashion!
