Upon the orders made in court on 12/21/2017, Ms.Rees failed to file a findings and order after hearing within the C.R.C 5.125. In fact she did not send the FOAH to the other party until June of 2018. Until that time , I had sent multiple e-mails and phone calls to Ms. Rees office complaining that my sons mother was manipulating the orders and causing hardship upon myself and our son because our sons mother was claiming she did not have formalized orders. In addition, I had asked multiple times that I wanted a copy of the transcripts of the orders and wanted to review the draft PRIOR to submitting for approval. This did not happen and as a result, the FOAH was incorrectly stated within critical orders and our sons mother subsequently exploited said defects where I am embroiled in litigation 4 years after the said "Final Orders" were made in 2017. I attempted to discuss with Ms. Rees again during a court hearing in June of 2020 where she was there for another case. I explained the adversity her actions had caused and she agreed to correct said orders by preparing an amended order. I sent an e-mail confirming said conversation and that I would drop off the transcripts and list of corrections to be made in July of 2020. Since, she has not honored her word and in addition has not responded to any of my calls since. I am now in a state of emotional distress as this negligence is costing me unwarranted litigation with a new commissioner who after 8 years of enjoying equitable rights of our son is being severely stripped away for said exploitations of defective formalized orders. After reading these reviews, I am like damn I wish I would have known to avoid this below standard attorney.

Note that every attorney I contacted prior to calling her office couldn't take my case because their calendars were full. Christina's calendar was wide open. I believed I was lucky when in fact, this was a red flag. Christina will take anything to get a retainer in her hands whether she has time or not. This is the grift. If you loan her another attorney's work, she copies it for use but stamps her name on all of the paperwork. This is the poach - or plagiarizing in legalese. She did this with the work of HEIDI ROMEO & MICHAEL YOUNG. She claims to be an expert mediator. In my case there was no mediating anything. In office meetings she referenced her "plan" but would kowtow to my ex's firm offer without question. Her office smelled of oily malfeasance. The interactions were covered with slime. When your ex repeats to you verbatim private conversation you had with her, you know you're screwed. No ethics at all. She and her paralegal lose paperwork, delay proceedings, "misplace" information. The disorganization is appalling. Despite asking for it, I never received itemized monthly invoicing as is the standard with law firms. When I fired her she pulled her costs out of thin air & came up with numbers to account for the total use of the retainer I paid. Overall the experience sent bile rising to my throat. It was a waste of time & money. Aspects of it fell into the pool of kinky, especially her relationship with my ex. Don't feel lucky that this shyster can take your case. TURN AROUND AND RUN! Due to illness there have been delays in my pursuit of justice giving Christina what she deserves. But it's still in okay. As far as positive reviews, I'd take them with a block of salt. Out of desperation I fell for the initial consult where Christina tells you what you want to hear. My tip is that no matter how desperate you feel, you can do a better job representing yourself than this poor excuse of an attorney ever will.

Prior to the consult, I provided her office with pertinent documents. Ms. Ferrante provided the most incredible consultation and to my surprise, she actually reviewed my documents before our consultation. She exudes reassuring confidence and compassion. Trust me, if I am unsuccessful in my attempt to resolve my matter, I will absolutely be retaining Ms. Ferrante. She is an outstanding attorney.

As a result, I faced a back injury that would take me back and forth between several therapies, medication, and other appointments. Eventually the bills started piling up and I wasn't getting any support upon my workers compensation from the warehouse. I started feeling hopeless and that I should just leave the situation as is. That is until my friend referred me to James after telling her my experience. I hesitated a lot at first because I didn't want to get myself into a time consuming, difficult, and more financial stress but I ended up calling anyways, and I thank myself for doing so! I told James about my situation and he offered me a free consultation, as well as assured me that no attorney fee charges would be made if it doesn't work out, which I appreciated! When working with him he walked me through everything and made sure that whenever we talked I wouldn't leave without my questions/concerns being addressed. Nonetheless, James has made this case process a piece of cake thus far- which I couldn't have imagined happening, and has taken away my hesitations! Not to mention, he's brought me several steps closer towards getting my work compensation. I can't thank him enough and would definitely recommend him to anyone who's going through a similar struggle with their workplace! Even if it just takes that first call to be heard. Moreso, I'd come back in the future if needed!

When she hired the law firm, Haslam & Thorne this year and started working with Michelle as her primary attorney, and also with Brian, I finally saw a shift in her favor. The attorneys were extremely professional and aggressive in getting my sister what she and her kids deserve, in addition to arrearages from the past five years. They saw through all the gaslighting and lies from her ex-husband and cut straight to the chase, simplifying things into simple calculations based off financial documents and tax returns. They also caught his attorney using outdated calculations and forms meant to benefit their client, and updated the forms appropriately. They are in constant communication with my sister, respond quickly and are polite and supportive in their correspondence. After struggling for several years, my sister is finally hopeful that she will be able to provide for her children as they deserve. I can't express enough how wonderful it is to see her receive her just dues and become hopeful about life again.

So very sadly- our daughter in law and then our son passed away within 5 months of each other. My husband went and got the permanent guardianship. Everything went great. Fast forward to 2023. We had felt that our grandson would be in a better place with our daughter because she was having kids and we wanted the very best for our grandson. Or so we thought!!! My husband had guardianship still and our grandson would come and stay with us often because it was his original home. Our daughter and husband were starting to keep our boy from seeing us as often of which- he started breaking down sobbing because he wanted to see us more and yet still live there with them. Due to crazy things- we decided we were just going to adopt him and retained Brian again. Brian put his daughter Michelle on the case. Horrible move. These last few years of just trying to see our grandson more- our daughter and her husband took us to court and played as dirty as you could ever get. They had an amazing lawyer-Vanessa Gnekow- and of course our grandson tells us that our counsel- Michelle- is great friends with the opposing counsel- Vanessa. We had already sensed it because we were losing everything. Sadly- Michelle played it off as they're just acquaintances and didn't step away. We refused to go to trial and fight our son in law and daughter's lies because we were already feeling Michelle was on their side. Never hire a lawyer who you can tell she doesn't care nor will fight. Except we didn't hire her- she was pushed on us. Things in court agreed upon- Michelle let the opposing side take it away. All the money as guardian that we gave every month to our daughter to help with everything and the money we spent on all his medical and dental and everything else- Michelle didn't fight for us when they sued us for every penny we got as guardian. The mediation took place to come to a middle ground and we now are paying money we had already paid our son in law every month. Make sense right? Thanks to Michelle raking in thousands of dollars from us and helping her opposing lawyer - good friend- we only have short phone calls. Our grandson was involved in the court case because I found him included in the opposing peoples iPad on the messages where the court was talked about. He was 9 and then turned 10. Michelle kept going after me for things they accused me of. I definitely know she didn't like me and therefore had no desire to do exactly what was right for our grandson. Our poor grandson is the victim- he lost his beloved Oma and papa and his biological family due to non existent 'fighting' for our grandson and what HE wanted. Our grandson lives in fear while on FaceTime and they are always right there. He panics. We informed Michelle that our grandson was being slapped in the face with open hands and having shoes thrown at him- the court said no they can't do that anymore. That our grandson was being around a child his age who was doing bad things to him. Michelle responded with- that's another case. Well- this case was all about a child and whose home was safe. Thanks to Michelle- our grandson doesn't see us because our son in law who by the way has only been in our life since 2012- we know nothing about him- he has the guardianship of our beautiful boy put in our care by our deceased son and daughter in law. Always read reviews because they are what's so important. Save all your money for someone who will actually fight for you. We paid Michelle to lose everything.
