However, my experience was entirely different. All positive. The staff that I came in contact with were all friendly, helpful and courteous. One of them (unfortunately I did not catch her name) actually called me to let me know that the clinic was not that busy so that I can expect an easy arrival. The assistant that took down mom's information was thorough and explained things clearly to us. Doctor Hwu came in with full knowledge of my mom's situation and offered reassuring advices, then ordered some tests. By the time we left the office, the authorization of the tests had already been issued. I am impressed with the efficiency and overall friendly atmosphere of this clinic. I read about the parking challenge for this clinic before and I can see why as there are only five parking spaces in the private lot behind the clinic and street parking on a residential neighborhood could always be a challenge. The office seems like a converted house, as it appears in the middle of a robust residential neighborhood. As such, street parking is difficult, and there are only 3 spots reserved in the back for patients. I have never been able to secure one of them during my visits. The entry is tightly regulated, which is the norm for COVID times. However, all the staff I have interacted have been professional and polite. Although there is a wait, whether in the waiting room or the exam room, it only reflects the busy nature of any successful medical practice. At least I didn't feel the wait was excessively long or unacceptable. The triage personnel and the PAs were also friendly and explained things well. Dr. Hwu is pretty senior, but he converses well in both Mandarin Chinese and English. He takes the time to review the pertinent findings and answered all my questions and concerns. I'm not sure what else I can reasonably ask of him, or any other physician. The office is very simply decorated but clean. The only time close to a conflict I encountered was leaving the same way I came in, as I didn't realize I was supposed to exit from the back door. I was already out the door when the lady informed me that I was supposed to go the back way. She let me leave. :) I believe Dr. Hwu and his office will provide the medical expertise one is seeking and should be satisfied with the experience there. Just be prepared for the parking.
