We have two different teachers who have different styles but they are fairly consistent in the curriculum (same grade level) and they pay attention to details. They are organized with weekly homework assignments provided at the beginning of the week along with weekly newsletters that spell out the expectations and activities for the week. The parent-teacher communication is great! I love that my kids have a full day of school (just under 6 hours) and have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of subjects and get physically active. The school uses Ki's lunch for it's lunch program so it makes it easy to have healthy, nutritious lunches on the days I don't feel like packing one. I saw a previous review that commented on income disparity. I think this is a factor at any private school that draws from a wide variety of communities and demographics. Yes, there are upper middle class folks and there are working class folks. The school offers financial assistance so that kids from many different income brackets can attend. As far as private schools go, this is probably somewhere in the middle in terms of cost. (I did extensive research for private schools in north county) But I can also say that the teachers are very sensitive to the disparity and try to be considerate of any additional costs for parents. Overall, we are very happy that we chose this school!

Teachers like Mrs Bicum, Mrs Cinors Mrs.Lever, Mrs. Theis, and Mrs. Mackey were caring, dedicated, and genuinely invested in helping him succeed. I will always be grateful for the kindness and effort they showed our family. Unfortunately, our experience changed dramatically in 4th grade. My son struggled with reading and had educational needs that required additional support. Instead of receiving the help and encouragement he needed, it felt like the school gave up on him. He went from being a student who earned B and C grades to receiving failing grades, and we saw very little effort to help him maintain the academic progress he had made over the years. During this time, our family was also wrongly accused by a teacher, which resulted in a report being made to CPS. We found this experience deeply upsetting. We were also concerned to learn that the same teacher allegedly shared private information about our family with other parents without our knowledge, which further damaged our trust in the school community. As parents, we were repeatedly made to feel that our son no longer belonged at the school because of his learning challenges and his need for an IEP. Rather than partnering with us to help him succeed, we felt pressured to find another school. The message we received was that Tri-City Christian was not willing or able to support a child who learned differently. If your child is a strong student who does not require academic accommodations and excels in sports, your experience may be very positive. However, if your child struggles with reading, is behind academically, has an IEP, or may need one in the future, I would strongly encourage you to carefully consider whether this school can provide the support your child deserves. What hurt the most was that this happened at a Christian school. By the end of our time there, I felt embarrassed and unwelcome on campus. Every child deserves patience, encouragement, and support--especially when they are struggling. Sadly, that was not our experience during our final years at Tri-City Christian.

You are not working side by side with the teacher so much as you are taking over for the teacher. They literally hand you a teacher's edition of a subject and expect you to without any training or education in it to be able to do exactly what the teachers are doing for the students. Actual teachers are trained all summer long and given so many tools after they gain their early education bachelors. The fact this school t the way they do so they can double up the amount of students each teacher can have is deplorable. Administration does not follow legal guidelines for special needs, accommodations and meetings. After multiple meetings, my daughter needed an evaluation further and was offered it. They never followed through and claimed later that they didn't know they were supposed to even do one. Wasted our entire year. Going to this school was absolutely pointless for my family and one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. I regret everything about finding this school. Unless you want to literally have a unpaid job brimming with expectations and lack of support do not bother.

And even though with C track a lot of the days they are home with me, they have on campus social events, clubs and field trips. The course ended up being more daunting than he anticipated, but Ms. Freeman was incredibly supportive throughout. She was consistently available, responsive, and willing to provide guidance when he needed it. Her support made a challenging summer course feel much more manageable, and we truly appreciated having her as his teacher. The directors Ms. Malloy & Ms. Rhonda both greet the kids every morning and afternoon by name. You can tell all of the teachers are genuinely excited to be there, they are all so friendly and engaging. Our son had Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Violetta. They are the sweetest and energetic duo with a ton of experience. They make the kids feel so special and loved. They are respectful and take the time to really get to know the kids. They make learning fun (my personal fav - they even taught them about dental health and why brushing teeth is so important, amazing!) it's play based learning and they do the cutest crafts too. They have a pumpkin patch event, Mother's Day/Father's Day parties, a Christmas + Easter performance, and even a jog-a-thon! Our son also has a food allergy, which they take very seriously and we greatly appreciate. We feel totally at ease when we drop him off. This is was our first experience choosing a preschool with our first child so we toured.. several.. schools!! After we toured Redeemer we knew hands down, it was the one. We couldn't be more pleased with our decision. We are now on his second year here - our son still gets so excited and truly looks forward to going to preschool every day. It was a hard transition for her starting preschool last year at 3 but with the teachers constant support and care she quickly started to feel safe and confident. Ms Malloy (the director) has been informative and a rock for us. Ms Rhonda runs the front office and is always so responsive and kind. They both greet each student and parent as we enter the school each day, it's a great warm way to start the day. This team is incredible. The campus is beautiful.
