It started well but in the last year Carlson made 1 trade in 700K portfolio that i did not specifically send email to initiate. Upon the yearly review I asked my advisor why I had so much cash in the accounts not getting invested? the response was I see that is a lot of cash. So in reality NO ONE was managing the accounts. I have moved to a different managing company but I am feeling challenge to recover the management fees is what I will do. I feel the fiduciary protections can be challenged. read more

We recently moved to Carlson financial after working with Ameriprise, then Raymond James. Unlike the other institutions, Carlson listens to us and works to meet our objectives. It's a breath of fresh air compared to other financial managers! I received a phone call prior to my scheduled appointment. I was told they wanted to gather information prior to me coming to their office. I was asked my age; was I interested in anything else other than retirement planning; and if I had accumulated investment and retirement assets of $300,000 or more (excluding real estate). When I said I did not have that amount, I was told the fees would not warrant my coming in for the appointment so she cancelled my appointment. The conversation lasted two minutes. Their website indicates having accumulated investment and retirement assets of $250,000 or more (excluding real estate). So I'm not sure why I was asked $300,000. At any rate, it was obvious to me they screen for a certain type of client and in just two minutes, it was determined I did not fit that criterion. Little do they know about me. read more

Was great at taking my money but when I had more to put in, I called 3 times with no return call and the receptionist sent me a form to send in money and said she didn't know where to put my money but would just put it where the other money was. I pulled my money out immediately. read more

This guy is absolutely the most arrogant person you will ever meet. My husband and I went in for a consultation and he was rude and condescending from the very beginning before he even knew how much money we had. We explained that we had just under $400,000 to invest for retirement and had no idea or knowledge of what to do. He acted completely disinterested and said he would get back with us after he reviewed it and we never heard a thing. I guess you have to have at least a half a million to even be worthy of dealing with this guy. Needless to say, we were able to find another financial advisor who made the money in commissions and has been doing a great job. Do yourself a favor and don't waste time even for the free consultation with this jerk. read more
