I wanted to take the kids somewhere inside on spring break because it was freezing outside. For $12 or $15 depending on whether the kids are age 15, you can get a day pass. We got to play basketball, use the gym if over 11 yrs old, and go swimming in the pool/Waterpark. Cal and check times for open gym and pool times. You can leave and reenter with your receipt. I like the electronic codes for the lockers you don't pay extra for. The locker rooms were decent could be cleaner. The hall way from the locker room to the the pool was freezing. The pool was a little stained in places. I got to do some water aerobics in their class. The basketball courts were nice. There is also walking trails and an outdoor water park. In another area there is a park with covered area with lunch tables and a splash pad. Overall nice park and rec center

This was our first time coming and we only came because we were doing a photo session. Glad we did. It has lots to offer from scenic trails to a splash pad to a huge playground with lots of fun things for kids of all ages. Unfortunately it was too cold to do the splash pad but my son loved the playground and surprised us by doing lots of activities we didn't think he could just yet! Because it's so nice it does draw a crowd so be prepared. They have on-site bathrooms and covered shelter areas for parties or picnics. We live about 40 mins away so won't frequent often however I'm sure we'll be back!

Lovely setting and a wide variety of recreational opportunities... Very modern splash pad play area for the kids, lovely shelters overlooking the water, the complex also includes access to the community center and a nearby waterpark which is a bit small and quaint but looks very well kept and has a couple of slides and some kind of lazy river in it

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation is a top notch Parks and Rec group. They have got SO incredibly much to offer for all types of people and interests. The Monon Center in itself offers all kinds of classes for every age including work out classes, art classes, nature classes, dance classes and so much more. Their parks are all over Carmel and are each specialized in something different. Want creek stomping? Flowing Well Want a huge play area and splash pad? Westermeier Commons. Want a kid friendly climbing/ropes course? Inlow Park. Something with lots of grassy area to fly a kite, walking paths to push a stroller and a playground? West Park. Definitely check out the Waterpark at the Monon. They have a fun Splash Bash at the end of summer for kids 6 and under with low crowds. They also have an adults only night called the Monon Mixer that is a really great date night.

The kids loved the Flowrider surfing area.

Love, love, love, the aquatic center/pool area! I couldn't find much online in the way of pictures or anything for this place so I didn't know what to expect but this place is awesome! I think it was $10 for adults and $7 for kiddos. They have three slides, a lazy river, a flowrider, big pool, splash area, and baby pool. The grounds are super clean and over all just really nice. They have about 15 cabanas that you can rent for the day around $99. There are 3 concession areas where you can get soft serve ice cream, Hawaiian ice, burgers, nachos, drinks, chips and so on. This being my first time I didn't know you could bring outside coolers in but many people had them. Also, outside the pool area but in the same parking area there was a huge park for kids and a splash pad (just over a cool looking bridge) we drove by and people had fishing poles out too. All in all a super cool place. We are planning a day trip there for next month so we can do all the things.

Great facilities, but not much space to sit outdoors, very full. The snacks are also quite expensive.

The weather was going to be absolutely beautiful so we thought they would enjoy this. It is a weekday booking so I reserved a cabana online. The cost was $90 for 11 AM to 7 PM which is pretty pricey. I live in Phoenix, Arizona and full hotel resorts charge a simlar price. The price of the cabana does not include an entrance fee either, so you'd need to be a member for this pricing to make a whole lot of sense on a regular basis. I did look up the pricing online for the day pass entry and what was posted at the entrance gate was almost twice what was posted on line. We paid $57 entrance fee for our two grandchildren aged six and nine, grandpa is over 65 so he got a discount and I had to pay full adult price. That makes the cost of entry for a water park at almost $150. Anyway, with all of that aside, we did end up having a wonderful day and we were there about six hours. The kitty pool does not seem to be heated. It was very cold, but it is very shallow so I'm sure there is a reason behind that. We spent most of our time in the large activity pool that has a spot where my granddaughter could practice swimming, as well as a deep end where my older granddaughter could play. there is a water structure in here with a slide and buckets that dump on the kids. My older granddaughter enjoyed the variety of water slides. Neither of them were old enough to be able to handle the flow Rider. The lazy river ride was also nice. The lifeguards were extremely attentive and ensuring everyone was safe. And we were there from 10 AM to 4 PM and we only counted one 15 minute break where they emptied the activity pool. We did not partake in the concessions. We do appreciate the fact that Carmel allows you to bring in your own food. With the plethora of dietary issues, this was really appreciated. We did purchase snowcones, eventually as they were out out of ice by 2 PM, but they did end up getting refills. Our cabana had a wicker couch and four chairs, no cushions on anything. We had a working refrigerator and a power outlet as well as a Safe and two shelves we could store items. We did put two loungers in front of our cabana that we shared and used to dry our towels Staff was super friendly and helpful There are some shaded areas that are in the grass. If you do not rent a cabana, you may be able to nab a spot here. It appears you are able to also eat your own food in the grassy area or at the concession stand if you don't have a cabana. I did not see many shaded seats on the concrete around the pools. There were a couple of large structure umbrellas, but for the most part, you are in the sun. For a Monday, it wasn't busy in the morning but by afternoon time it was pretty packed. I did see a lot of vacant cabanas though so that would be an option. If you wanted to ensure you had a place to sit it's just pricey.

At he front of the park you will find three shelters with picnic tabes under them and grills just out side of them. The entrance to the park ends at the Monon Community Center and the Waterpark. The park's bread and butter by far is its trails. It has mile and miles of trails that are interconnected, some paved, some gravel and some dirt. Some through the woods and in the open. There is a storybook trail near the front of the park by the shelters. The trails are awesome with a capital A. They are well maintained and go for miles. You can walk, bike or run them if you so chooses and if you don't have a bike, don't worry. They have a kiosk that you can rent bikes. near the walkway leading to the water park. There is also a restroom there. You will find another restroom structure at the front of the park by the shelter area. The park itself has 3 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems including native prairies, wetlands, and woodlands. Its trails also connect to the Monon Greenway (it runs through the center of it, and has pretty much adopted it), which gives you more room to roam. Additionally, this park is connected to one of the most futuristic and best all around playgrounds that I have been to. If that was not enough. it has a community center and waterpark located on its grounds pretty much. RIght behind the playground area is a very peaceful lagoon and a boardwalk. It is very nice and I really enjoyed walking it. It has ducks and fish and I found it very tranquil. If you are planning on bike riding, walking, walking the dog and running (why would you want to do that :-)), this is the park for you, even if you have to drive a bit.
