Considering that I've worked in the area for over 10 years-I honestly had no idea the Carmichael Farmers Market existed. I only learned about it because a local cinnamon roll vendor sets up shop every Sunday at the farmers market,so what began as my search for an incredible cinnamon roll turned into me discovering the cutest little farmers market in Carmichael. This farmers market happens once a week on Sunday mornings from 9am-2pm. This market is located at Carmichael Park on Grant Avenue. Generally I'd say there are about 50 or so vendors each week at the market,though I have seen that number a little higher on random weekends. Free parking at this park is pretty plentiful as Carmichael Park has many parking spaces available. These vendors are pretty good-quite similar to the vendors that I've seen at the Midtown Farmers Market-fresh fruits and veggies,a few vendors making fresh foods,like the cinnamon rolls vendor that got me to this farmers market. They have a vendor who has massage chairs setup and offers massages to customers. Another vendor I love is an Asian Bakery,selling incredible milk bread and sells these great egg salad sandos on milk bread-solid stuff. The best vendor, though,as I mentioned earlier is the cinnamon roll vendor and it's fabulous.The lines for this vendor can be pretty long and they sell out every weekend-I fully recommend them. In closing,I f you ever find yourself in the Carmichael area on a Sunday morning and your a fan of farmers markets,do yourself a favor and stop on by the Carmichael Farmers Market-it's pretty good. read more

We were looking for a farmer's market that was open on Sundays as we were meeting up with a friend to work with her dog's neutrality in higher- stimulation environments, and Carmichael Farmer's Market came up during our search. I also liked that it was open later in the day compared to most other farmer's markets. Upon arrival, there was a good amount of people enjoying the breezy August day, and parking wasn't too difficult to find. We ended up parking along the perimeter of the park itself, since the farmer's market is located at Carmichael Park and the main lot was full. For a smaller farmer's market, there were still a good variety of vendors, and a handful of produce stands. Food and drink vendors were also present, and of course the matcha stand was popping. The matcha stand was called Luz & Leaf, and had a small but varied menu, including a seasonal mango matcha lemonade for the summer. I had to go for the London Fog Matcha Latte, since I love earl grey tea (and lavender syrup). This matcha latte was the perfect drink for walking about the farmer's market, and so smooth. The ice level was just right, and I'm so glad they had oat milk for me, as that has been my milk of choice these days for my coffee/matcha orders. There were only two girls manning the matcha stand, and they were working diligently to whisk matcha and get orders out in a timely manner. I absolutely did not mind waiting, and enjoyed watching the girls put together everyone's drinks. I also got a stamp card from them since I would definitely want to have more matcha from them again. The other vendor we ended up purchasing from was a sweet lady who sold green tea leaves, including Kan Cha, which is one of the rarest teas in the world. She works directly with small farms who grow the special tea leaves, and sells them at a really reasonable price point. I ended up getting a packet of the Kan Cha, and will be making some once it gets cold enough to make hot tea (she recommended to steep it in hot water for best flavor notes). As we were busy training with my friend's dog, we didn't quite experience as much of the framer's market as much as I wanted to, but I'm sure we will be back some other time. This farmer's market is super dog friendly, so it's a perfect environment for working on handler engagement and neutrality. The majority of the dogs seemed decently behaved, but I personally wouldn't bring my own dog to this farmer's market, especially since the majority of dog owners don't pay good enough attention to their dogs, and don't hold their dogs to a high standard of obedience like I do with my own dog. We had a few close calls where owners didn't care and literally allowed their dogs to stare at or wander close to my friend's dog, which is very rude. All in all, I'm glad to see this little farmer's market thrive, and would love to check out some of the other vendors next time we visit. read more

Been here more then a handful of times, each time gets better, weather permitting place is well spaced out next to a park, maybe 4-6 tables to sit if you get food from the chosen food trucks. The local vendors have ample choices of veggies, other vendors have soap, baked goods, a little bit of everything, juicy lady that is there serves some very refreshing drinks all fruit based iced cold. This afternoon, we came to check out the farmers market with my mother for the first time after I had ran out of fruit at home and it was great! They had an Indian food truck called India Jones, love the name it's similar to Indiana Jones and I wanted to try a mango lassi but they were sold out unfortunately. The cashier was very friendly tho and explained it's a yogurt based drink, sounds yummy! Their were a lot of vendors and fresh produce available for purchase, as well as other items such as jewelry, soaps, kettle corn, beef jerky, pastries, bbq etc! My mother got 3 baskets of strawberries and the cashier didn't take cards, but said she could come back the next week and pay him the $10 then. What a caring person who is not just about the money, but also cares about his customers and he also offered a strawberry sample to my daughter and she loved it! She was addicted and kept wanting more of the ones grandma got! I tried some too and they are very sweet and delicious! Another booth we both bought I believe nectarines and plums after trying out some delicious flavorful juicy fruit samples offered! They had a minimum purchase of $5.00 to use your card. For 2lbs of fresh produce, it's a great deal! We are looking forward to coming here next weekend with cash to try out more foods from the vendors and check out other booths! Awesome FM right next to my brother's house. Good amount of representation from local farms, bakery, specialty goods, and ready to eat food. A little bit of everything here. A few dollars more than other FM I've been to but not more than Whole Foods (aka Whole Paycheck). For low income folks they also accept EBT and not sure but may give added funds to what you use. Definitely worth checking out and supporting. read more

A rude lady is now in charge of the market. She acquired Carmichael from the previous group that ran the market. Boy has this market gone downhill! Very few venders. I was asking about a booth, and she acted like I was wasting her time. I would NEVER put a booth up here; I can't get over how unprofessional she is. I feel sorry for the venders, they have no idea the lady in charge is chasing away people and venders. I love the older couple with all the knowledge and their produce from their garden. Came here for the first time last Sunday. Because it was Easter there weren't as many vendors but there also weren't as many people which was great for me. Get here early for good parking in the shade, but leave the vendors alone before 9am so they can set up! I'm sitting here relaxing in my car with a cup of coffee patiently waiting for 9am to roll around. I just heard a couple of vendors complain that some customer was trying to do business with them and they weren't even open yet. Anyways, a great selection of vendors here along with live music and food trucks. Everything from fish to flowers to produce to pie. I highly recommend the pie lady. Bring a shopping bag-I dare you to leave empty handed! Most of the vendors are super friendly and know their products well. Support local farmers! read more

Today is the first day that this small farmer's market opened. Yay! I'm thrilled. Located in the corner shopping center with the donut shop, nail shop and community yoga center, it is a welcome addition to the neighborhood! I only recognized one vendor from the Rancho Cordova market, the rest were new. Like the way that some of the stalls are self-enclosed, kind of like walking into a small produce shop except the floor is grass. There are about 3 - 4 produce stands. TAK market also had a small stand highlighting middle eastern fare. There was also two bakery stands and a local olive oil stand. Since I already went to the farmers market in Rancho Cordova yesterday, I didn't get much this time. I bought: * Long beans - one long continuous bean, a huge "strand" of them set me back $1. Never tried them, but hey, I can be adventurous for a buck. * Pluots - LOVE pluots. I always misspell them and have a tendency to call them "plutos". The market is only open on Sundays from 9:00 and closes at either noon or 1:00. The sign said 1:00, but the vendor said noon, so I'm not sure. Hopefully this place will be a permanent fixture at this intersection. read more

I have came here once before, and was not impressed with the farmers market. Now it may had been I came at a bad time. But I decided to give it another try, and I must say it got a little better, and I mean a little. The produce was not looking good by any means, and that's okay since I get my fresh produce from the farmers wives. However, the only part of the farmers market at carmichael park I enjoyed was the great priced fresh baked bread and my favorite the pasta queen, kettle corn and the face painting for the kids, and for this reason I give it 3 stars barely. A small outdoor market in Carmichael Park. For such a small area and only moderate amount of parking, there is a decent amount of vendors offering a host of variety to look at and purchase! Produce? Yes, they have produce. Normally between three to four vendors and all carrying similar stock. When I went was late spring, they had cherries! I was fortunate to purchase a 5 pound bag of pie grade Rainier cherries. What does pie grade mean? Some of them may be sour, some of them may not be sweet and the remainder may be sweet. Fish? Yes, there's a vendor for fresh fish from lakes to the ocean. Meat? Uh Huh, that too! Fresh chicken, grass fed beef and sometimes you may find some exotic meats too! Eggs? You betcha! One vendor sells fresh eggs among other items. Cheese? Oh boy, one of my favorite booths! Arts & Crafts? From live music being played to booths selling a variety of crafts. Plants? Want to see how green your thumbs are? There was someone selling little baby plants. I found a Ghost Pepper plant in a small pot that needs TLC so it can eventually get me in the end! How much time will you spend here? That depends on you and how long you enjoy looking at things. The last time I went with my sister and dad, it felt like we were there about 45 minutes. --------------- Bottom Line Yes, I enjoy going to this farmer's market. It's a great little market for a variety of items including produce. You feel that you're keeping the monies within the community instead of the supermarket. We just moved into the area and went to the farmers market for the first time yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety at the park. On top of the fruit and veggie vendors, they had people selling organic meats, homemade soaps, flowers, potted plants, baked goods, jams, olive oil, etc. There was a variety of food trucks as well. We came here for the first time recently because our regular Farmers Market was closed Sundays and luckily for us this place was available until 2pm. The first best thing about this event is that it is huge, a lot bigger than Folsom and a lot more going on. The park it is located in is spacious and roomy. There were lots of places to park and enjoy. Plus there is a playground park within walking distance that my kids loved. One of the best food truck options here was the Good Jo Coffee. They offer all kinds of coffee and espresso options and they taste GREAT! My suggestion would be to get the: Golden Latte. It's amazing, very creamy and smooth, a must! The floral here is colorful and bright with the best quality. My favorite farm booth is put on by the amazing Vang family. Their produce is always fresh, lots of variety, and the best price. I suggest their Chinese broccoli bundles and their pre-made baggies of regular broccoli and cauliflower mix. $3.00 a bag only. This place is great and I can't wait to come back! Better than country club farmers market in the sense that the location is much more inviting. Bring your dogs and kids to stroll around vendor tents under the shade of trees and let them loose to play in the park. Lots of parking and lots of good local produce. There's often somebody playing live music too, so it's nice to relax to after grabbing a fresh made pizza or other tasty snack. read more

What a beautiful and enjoyable Farmer's Market! The park is well shaded with free parking and there are several vendor tents with wonderful goodies and beautiful produce. Everyone working was very nice and helpful with the exception of the woman who owns the sea glass business. She was rude and seemed offended that we didn't buy her jewelry. The prices were a bit higher than other farmer's markets but it was a very enjoyable morning and the offerings were high quality. The fruit stands had samples and the baked goods are top notch. I got some fresh caught salmon, local olive oil, sprouted grain tortillas and all natural dog treats in addition to a beautiful veggie and stone fruit haul. I can't wait to come back and try the Hummus. I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a great place to grab a coffee and walk around some amazing local goods. read more

The best local farmers market in the Sacramento area besides the market "under the bridge." There is an array of vendors, and never seems to be the same people each time. There's usually something delicious to buy for a picnic, and live music to listen to. Highly recommend a stop at the Crazy Gringo Salsa Wagon for some vegetarian tamales, chips and salsa. The park is beautiful (and has a dog park nearby!) and is worth hanging out! There is quite a variety of both fresh and processed items, so there's something for everyone. If I were to change anything, though, it would be some of the non-food vendors. The end of the market featuring non-food items feels like a yard sale, as there are a few stands of items that are resale, and not crafted. Luckily they are arranged all the way over on one side, so they are easy to skip. read more

Lovely weather this morning, so we headed out to Carmichael Parks farmers market. I love this farmers market location and amenities. Lots of shade, childrens playground, a dog park, and restroom facilities. The Albion strawberries were deep red, sweet and juicy. I never expect much quality with tomatoes this early in the season, but they were a beautiful color, and had that healthy tomato smell. Fresh brewed coffee, pastries, orange juice, kettle corn, oh, and the best sauerkraut vendor and a lady with jams and preserves. There were cherries and berries, a variety of cheese, local honey, lamb, chicken, sausage, pork chops. Multi colored carrots and cauliflower. A few early apricots and nectarines. And when your shoulder and neck muscles start to ache there is a massage chair with a licensed massage therapist. There are also a few arts and craft vendors. Check it out. It's a nice way to spend your Sunday morning. read more

This is a great little farmers market. Seems like everyone is always in a great mood and I always leave feeling happier and healthier.

This was my first time at this farmer's market. I'm trying to explore all the different ones Sacramento has to offer. Seemed a bit pricier than the one at country club, but it does offer a lot more farms that are certified organic or pesticide free. There's a lot of different food vendors for the crunchy people or the carb lover people (I am both but I tend to lean more towards being a carb lover)...and there's ice cream! I had the chocolate peanut butter and it was delicious. The location was easy to get to and parking was plentiful. I got there shortly after 9 and it looked like some of the stands were still setting up. I left after 10am and there were a lot more cars and coming in. So earlier is probably better if you like to shop without stepping on too many dogs and kids. read more

I love that I live right across the street from the Carmichael Park Farmers Market. It's so fresh, easy and convenient...There is always live music, the produce is pesticide free and tons of shade. I love the pasta queen and the gluten free bread and tortillas. There are always a ton of vendors, local grown honey, and biggest strawberries I have ever seen. I do all my veggie shopping for the week here and I love, love, love it! read more
