I needed some tomatoes for paste I was making and ran short on my own homegrowns. Headed over to Farmers Wife late on a Sunday. So grateful they were open at close to 4 pm when all of the other farmers markets were closed. Found some beautiful marzanos and romas. I also picked up berries, peaches, a delicious yellow honeydew. The best community farm stand in the area. The quality of the fruit is unparalleled. Between FW and the farmer's market on Sunday, I never have to (or want to) buy produce at the supermarket. It just isn't as good as the produce from the Farmers Wife. Keep in mind, they have recently suffered from a fire to one of their trailers/generators. I don't know why I haven't reviewed this place I been coming here a few years now, I absolutely love farmers wife. Their located at the corner of Winding way and Hackberry. I believe they're only open during the months of April through October. The produce is so fresh and most they grown themselves. The prices are excellent! The German woman in my opinion is the most helpful and make really good recommends dishes I should try with some of the seasonal veggies that I normally wouldn't try. If you bring your kids they give them a free bag of fruit while you shop. I highly recommend giving them a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. They also have samples of fruit, vegetables and sometimes nuts. They accept cash only! read more

Stopped by this cute outdoor produce market before Halloween to pick up some veggies and saw they had a good assortment of pumpkins for my kids to pick from... and lots of other garden grown goodies. You can tell they have pride in what they grow. When we were leaving, the lady recommended we eat the pumpkin we bought vs carving it. We did, and it was delicious in every dessert I made with it. I've bought produce here 10-15 times, it's convenient to my house. The ladies never can tell me what's organic/pesticide sprayed/not. I ask if they can find out and get their noses bent out of shape. It's bizarre. I think a produce stand should be able to tell customers these details nowadays. Or find out for the next time you shop. They act like I'm an imbecile for asking the question. Half the produce is put away 15 minutes before they close. Not a big deal, but it would be better if they just shortened their hours. They do have a great selection of stone fruit. And I've seen the oldest lady hugging customers when they come up like they're old friend. It's very endearing. I'm sure they have great relationships with the community, but you have to know your produce!! read more

Love this place! My mom used to take me here when I was a little girl and now that I am closer to this location I have been going back to get the farm fresh produce I love. I love coming here and picking up a bunch of fresh produce then going home and figuring out what to make with it all. Very friendly people. Lots of workers to help with the covid protocol. In a previous review someone said they aren't friendly. Perhaps when you enter a business, acknowledge them, hang up your phone. How can they be friendly if you're on the phone and don't acknowledge them. Just saying. I found some lovely avocados and lemons. Unfortunately I must have set them down somewhere and left them. I drive by the stand every day on my way home from work. It's a quick stop that's faster than going inside the grocery store. Their prices are comparable or even better than the grocery stores. I love their local produce, pistachio/almonds and fruits. It's a small stand but tons of fruits and veggies. Strawberries, cauliflower and pluots are among of our favorites and a must!! I love the Farmer's Wife market stand. They are open tax day through Halloween and I can't wait until they open up for this season. I usually go every 2 weeks to pick up the fresh and reasonably priced produce. The fruit is really sweet, especially the strawberries. They have a large variety of fruits and vegetables. My mom took me here as a kid and it has just gotten better over the years. The market has all of the staple vegetable and fruits, as well as herbs, nuts and jam. There is a huge difference between this produce and what you buy in the grocery store. read more

I have been shopping at Farmers Wife Fruitstand for probably 20 years now. They have the best fresh peaches in town. I practically live on them in the summer. The ladies and the occasional male helper, are friendly, helpful and answer any questions. Their social distancing policies and placement of shields, makes shopping as safe as can be in these times. What a cute little local farm stand. We just moved to the area and I was so excited when I drove past this place and couldn't wait to try it out. I stopped on the way home from work one day. I got some apricots, boysenberries, rainier cherries, and peaches. Everything was EXCELLENT. Prices were good as well. I hadn't had boysenberries in years! I saw that someone recently burned down their stand. That is horrible! I drove past yesterday and they are still doing business out of the back of the parking lot.
