Review for 1 of my children. My child went in for their regular cleaning. My child came out looking absolutely miserable. I knew something was wrong but they just kept saying I'm ok. I was told everything was fine just brush/floss better. When we leave and get in the car I get told that the cleaning was incredibly painful. And that my child even dropped some tears. Came home and gave them some motrin cause their mouth was hurting. Motrin wore off so I just gave some Tylenol so hopefully they can get some sleep. They are miserable! I've never heard of that from a cleaning with no other issues. My child told me that the hygienist was really rough and would slip and say my bad or sorry or something similar. I feel absolutely horrible for letting my child go back by themselves. They are older so I'm trying to let them do some things on their own before they are adults. But now my child is miserable and in pain and I get to feel like a horrible parent! And now they have unlocked a new fear of the dentist. :( I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because this is the first visit to go this way. But I was also in the room for the other cleanings. I genuinely enjoyed my visit to Carnes Crossroads Dental. I was early for my appointment and the RDH, Melanie, took me in right away and started cleaning my teeth. She was incredibly friendly, kind, gentle, and quick when she was working. She explained every step she took and provided a warm handoff to Dr. Cassandra Mitchell when she was done. They both are experts at what they do and are the kind of employees I will gladly continue to go back to and support. After 20+ years of using this practice, I am done. Twice I showed up for my scheduled and confirmed appointment to be told they didn't have it on their books and the second time that the hygienist had called out that morning (I had an afternoon appointment). But the final straw was my last appointment when they told me to be there 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, but left me standing outside with the doors locked. When they finally unlocked the door, it appeared they had LOST MY FILE. The receptionist was young and perhaps just inexperienced and ignorant but came across to me as rude. This practice has a high turnover and this undoubtedly contributes to their inefficient practices. read more

Dr Walker and his staff are professional when it comes to dental work. However, when it came to a financial issue that was completely different!! My husband went and spoke to Dr Walker about a procedure that we were over charged. Dr Walker and staff very apologetic and professional promising a refund. Amazing Dentist (Doug) but a terrible practice. They move appointments without talking to you as a patient. You pay 2k for sedation and they don't tell you before hand you're not allowed to eat so you're stuck. They then chased me around for 4 dollars owed when they knew I was coming in a month later to spend 2k again. They again moved appointments on me because of scheduling conflicts and again did not consult with me at all just selected a date. The dentist and his wife are amazing folks that made me feel really comfortable, but the practice they work for is one of the worst run business I've ever seen. I've put off dental work for awhile due to personal reasons and then COVID-19. Dr. Walker and his team have been the best dentist I've ever been to! Funny enough the recommendation came from my Mom who went with my Father as well (+1 for Mom's advice!) I opted for the sedation and I didn't feel a thing. The sedation from Christin was executed perfectly and Dr. Walker timed it right before the numbing, and that was the last thing I remember. They are always on time and the office is so clean. Monique at billing is so thorough and nice, Stephanie the hygienist is great, gentle, and explains everything so well. Lastly, Lynne another hygienist is another one who always eases my nerves and is so attentive - if I could give her a hug I would! Although I need some work that requires multiple visits they are accommodating and affordable. I had a list of questions and Dr. Walker and Lynne didn't make me feel rushed at all! I can't recommend them enough! I'm actually looking forward for my next appointments, to get my restorative work, and to get a totally new smile. read more

I have been using Carnes Crossroads Dental Arts for my primary dental care for over 5 years. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Walker and his staff. My hygienist Stacy is awesome and has always done an amazing job cleaning my teeth. I have had so much work done over the last 5 years - basic checkups and cleanings, a crown, whitening, and fillings. I am very happy with my dentist and this office. The team at Carnes Crossroads Dental literally saved my father's life. During a routine cleaning he kept falling asleep. The team at Carnes Crossroads Dental knew this was uncharacteristic of him and became concerned and began monitoring his blood pressure and saw some things that concerned them about his behavior and blood pressure data. They called us and explained. We took him to urgent care and later to the hospital due to strange EKG results. Turns out he had four blocked arteries and went on to have a (successful) quadruple bypass surgery. If not for the vigilance and care of the team at Carnes Crossroads Dental we may never have discovered his heart disease before it was too late. These are exceptional, wonderful people! Not to mention they do an exceptional job caring for your teeth and use the latest dental technology! I've never encountered a more genuinely caring medical office from top to bottom. I cannot recommend this dentist office enough. From the time you walk in the receptionist is warm and friendly. The office is clean and modern. I'm convinced my hygienist is the nice woman on earth and so is the dr. My whole family is now coming to carnes crossroads dental and we could not be happier. Hi, I've been to this clinic before and I was super impressed and excited about it because it was at the front of our neighborhood. Also, my ex-fiance has still been going there even after this experience that happened last week. We bought a house right in front of the neighborhood on the front pond about a year and a half ago. I really enjoyed my first experience and so did my ex fiancé. I start going to a new dentist and didn't like it so I scheduled an appointment and when the appointment came up, I showed up on time and at first the receptionist who is a sweetheart first said that I didn't have an appointment today. So I went in my emails and showed her that I did and I even had a confirmation email sent from the Carnes crossroad dental office a few days before and a text message confirming my appointment which I confirmed obviously. She apologized which is completely understandable and asked me to wait a few minutes, then this older woman comes out to me I'm guessing her higher up with an attitude right off the bat when I never even raised my voice because I was just wanting to get my scheduled cleaning. She comes and starts telling me as If she was talking down to me "I felt" by saying that I'm in the wrong and that I should have gotten a call from them as well as an email "last minute" Notifying me of the last-minute change because a dentist helper did not show up that day. I told her that I never received a call or an email and attempted to show her my missed call list from that morning which there weren't any because it was only noon and also my recent emails but she refused. I started off by asking her if she was just calling me a liar and she COMPLETELY flipped it around on me and asked ME if I said she was lying. So of course with her raising her voice "making a big scene" the other nurses come out of the back room as this women was making it seem like it was MY fault even when the Front receptionist even apologized to me as I first walked in and it took her to get her superior to come out and speak to me and I was totally taken off guard by how I was being talked to and treated right off the bat as soon as she walks from the back room. My scheduled appointment was for December 3 at noon and the woman was in her mid 40s with I believe short hair. I was actually pondering on whether I was going to do this or not the last couple days but it's just bothered me so much that I have just had to say something and I do want to speak to the main dentist or owner because I'm a member in this community and I don't even know if this woman lives in this neighborhood. I'm also going to write a letter to the HOA and speak to them about it. Other than that they do outstanding work and I would love to come backBut I would like this to be a dress and a formal apology at least from this woman or something disciplinary because I came in with no hostility and I Gaines nothing from it except a headache and I had to wait a few more days to a rather actually great dentist with wonderful nurses in West Ashley if anyone would like me to refer them.
