Whites that we sampled Feb. 2024
Rebecca D.

We stopped in here for a quick wine tasting. Abby was our host and gave us some good information about the different wines. We came home with a rose, Wild Thing and a bottle of Coquille. Easy parking, inviting space and reasonable prices.

Her tasting room is adorable and her wines are delicious. There does not seem to be a varietal or blend she cannot perfect. For instance her WildThing Rose made the cover of Wine Spectator magazine. And you can't go wrong with a bottle of Wild Thing Zinfandel, it paid with everything and won't set you back, Safeway actually carries it and can be had for about $15 well spent dollars.

The enthusiasm of the staff is very authentic! Been here 2x for their events with Wine Roads. One for their winter wineland and a recent visit 2017, barrel tasting. As you walk in... You sense the welcome vibe! The first pours are the wines that they are pretty proud of and is very refreshing. She has cute names like Wild Things! The tasting room is fun. Wine barrels stacked high inside a warehouse decorated with white lights and live music too! When they have an event... It's very nice to have the live music. It's like going to a party! Had the opportunity to meet one of their young staff that has been a jack of all trade to her winery. He even has pictures of himself picky the grapes and also dealing with the fermentation process. He was very educational and enthusiastic about her wine. The best part of Carol's wine is the price and taste. All very reasonable... She is amazing. Her wines are amazing! They have won alot of awards, medals, recognition, and you will see this at the entrance of her tasting room. Love visiting this place. Always fun and welcoming. And the wine is really good!

Love their Zins so much, I joined my first Wine Club! South of typical wine country lies this powerhouse Zin maker in an unassuming office park. While the views are lacking, the wines and people are rocking. Carol, winemaking extraordinaire, can often be found interacting with customers. All employees are friendly and helpful. I had an issue with a wine club billing, and Carolyn fixed it immediately. They have frequent events for wine club members; I wish I lived closer! They are very accommodating and let me pick up an order after they were closed. Thank you! This is an authentic wine lovers experience. No pretentious people or settings. Just damn good wine!

Tasty wines. Reasonable prices. Industrial park location. Fun staff. Several other wineries in this warehouse location. You could spend several hours tasting at them all.

He was warm, knowledgeable, and made the entire tasting feel relaxed and engaging without ever being overwhelming. He explained each wine and the regions they came from in a way that was easy to understand but still really interesting--perfect whether you're a casual sipper or more into the details. The standout for us was the 2019 Zinfandel--bold, smooth, and just really memorable. Definitely the one we're still talking about. Beyond the wine itself, wandering through the sculpture gardens added something really special to the visit. It's such a peaceful, beautiful setting and made the whole experience feel more like an afternoon escape than just a tasting. Honestly, Kevin made it. We'd come back again just to have another tasting with him. You are full of Aloha. Mahalo!!!

I had way too much wine and took a million pictures because the scenery demanded it. The food was kind of underwhelming and not worth noting, but honestly, the wine and scenery more than made up for it. Also the staff were friendly, attentive and heavy on the pours making the whole night indulgent and fun. Overall 9/10. Good venue for a company gathering.

The ambiance is upscale, chic and inviting. Seating is ample - 4th St Cellars offers a two story seating area, bar area seating and beautiful outdoor patio seating as well. For our visit we sat next to the fire place and shared a bottle of Pinot Noir. The employees were both welcoming and accommodating. They offered us a cheese plate to share which was a nice touch, we enjoyed the light snacks with our Pinot. At first the wine bar was fairly empty but before we knew it there was a full house. They had live music which we really enjoyed - the music wasn't so loud it over powered our conversation. Overall I'd give 4th St Cellars a 9/10. My only reservation and slight critique was the odd experience we had when selecting our wine. We asked for tastings of the Pinot and Cabernet before selecting our bottle. We were bought one tasting of each for my friend and I to share - meaning we shared our glass. While we didn't mind sharing germs I found it a bit odd lol. Our thought was we weren't clear in how we wanted to try the wine. Either way it wasn't a make or break for us and we still enjoyed our visit. 4th street cellars is a great stop for date night or a girls night! We will be returning.

This tasting lounge is hidden in an industrial park, shared among other vintners. We were greeted with a great big smile and warm hug from Dennis. We mistakenly were waiting in the wrong place, so he guided us to the tasting lounge just on the other side of production. Cozy and quaint, with a comfy waiting area, short bar and long dining style table made up the tasting lounge with glass windows and doors that looked out into the production facility. We tasted Gerwürztraminer, Rosé and Pinot Noirs. All delicate and luxurious in their own way. I'm typically not a fan of Gerwürztraminer because they tend to lean on the sweet side. This was crisp, vibrant and delightful. All wines were lovely but the fav was the Forcini Vineyard Pinot Noir. It was showcased a smooth, silky and velvety mouthfeel that lingered after swallowing. Dennis gave us a tour of the barrel room and answered all our burning questions about aging, blending and cooperage. He even gave us some barrel samples, so cool! Enough acidity to keep it bright and juicy at the same time!! I rated this a 4.2 which is excellent! McCarter Cellars Rose of Pinot NoiIt's made using the saignée method, which involves collecting juice from pinot noir grapes and its great and has texture in the mouthfeel and I tasted wild strawberry and raspberry and some minerality, and its great! I rated it a 4.1 Then I tasted one of his Pinot Noirs which I think was the Forchini vineyard Excellent Pinot from Dennis McCarter of McCarter Cellars and its unique in Pinot flavors because I tasted some peach in this some forest floor, and cherry cola, and toast from the 50% new oak in it! And I smelled the rhubarb pie filling and reminded me of the spice in Mincemeat pie that my grandma used to make! And it's juicy but sophisticated was my first comment on it. That and it's floral! He's using both American Oak and Central European Oak to craft his wines! I rated it a 4.4 Then we went into the cellar where his barrels are and he got up into the barrels Wow this McCarter Cellars Pinot Noir 2023 is great! I'm tasting the classic flavors of cherry cola, wild strawberry and raspberry plus some Forest floor and rhubarb pie filling with spice and a nice toast on it.! This is great wine! And not quite as sophisticated as the one before this but still has that sophistication while still being juicy goodness! And spice box. I rated this one a 4.5! And then he went around to different barrels and drew some wine from different barrels to create the perfect Zinfandel and it was delicious and smooth and elegant and I am remiss about the flavors it revealed but I remember that I gave it a 4.5 also which is superb or exceptional!

This business does not care about it's customers and is so impossible to reach it's almost comical…read more I was a long-term customer of Fog Crest. In 2024 we received a shipment of wine where all the wine in the shipment was broken. In typical situations, wineries offer replacement of broken bottles, but Fog Crest was impossible to reach in spite of (literally) 50 phone calls and emails. Since I couldn't reach them, I canceled my subscription to their wine club. Flash forward a few months, they charge me another ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but never ship me any wine (in spite of the fact that I had already canceled online). Again, dozens of calls and emails, no answer and no response. Still trying. A few months after that, they charge me ANOTHER ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but don't ship that wine to me either. After probably 100 calls and emails, I finally talk to the wine club coordinator on the phone. She of course acknowledges my dozens of messages, and acknowledges my situation. She says she will replace the wine that was broken and figure out why they've been charging me for wine I haven't been receiving and make it right. But that she can't talk right now and she'd call me back with more information. That was a month ago. I've now called again dozens of times, and emailed. No response. Called and emailed the owner, no response. This is borderline criminal: $1,500 in charges for undelivered product, a non-existent customer service experience, and an online system so archaic that it doesn't process your cancelation and continues to charge you for product.

Zero Accountability and Terrible Customer Service - Avoid Fog Crest!…read more I'm absolutely appalled by my experience with Fog Crest Winery. We joined their wine club in 2023 and was charged $420 all of 2024/25 for wine that they NEVER shipped. When I called to inquire about where the wine was, I was met with complete silence--multiple calls and messages went unanswered. After finally getting a call back, the person said they only called me back because "she saw we had called a lot in one day." That was the first red flag. She promised to credit my account and look into another charge that had been applied. It's been SEVEN days since that conversation, and STILL no credit, no updates, and no resolution. I've followed up with multiple calls, messages, and emails... NOTHING. At this point, it's clear that they don't care about their customers. I highly recommend staying far away from Fog Crest if you value your time and money. Total waste of both
