My wife and I hired Carol's to staff our wedding reception at Trigger Chicago. We worked with Molly to coordinate details and our captain was Jess who had a team of 5 excellent servers and bartenders. Molly's phone call appointments were so helpful as she guided us through everything we needed, including details we hadn't even considered that made our event as perfect as it was. She met us on site at 8am on a weekday to make sure all our ends were covered and even had a follow up call 2 weeks out to wrap up all loose ends. Molly was prompt in her replies, professional in her handlings, and so easy to work with. On the night of the event, our captain Jess did everything possible to make it perfect for us. Our bar ran out of tonic at one point and Jess went to a nearby Target to supply. She even bought extra flowers to decorate our dessert table, unprompted. Again, a detail my wife and I never considered that added a personal touch that our us and guests always remember. Her team took care of setting up all the tables, laying the linens and place settings, decorating, and even clean up at the end of the night. They were there later than us! Ok, so there was this big Holiday Party I was working on...and after I put all the pieces together I somewhat panicked thinking "um, ok...but who is going to help me serve/pick-up/handle the massive demands of 1500 people?" Because, there are these things you don't always think about...like, refilling ice. Or emptying trash, or picking up plates/cups/forks/napkins off the floor. Or moving heavy crap. It just doesn't work so well for me in heels and a cocktail dress. So I ordered three helpers from Carol's Event Staffing. SUPERB. First of all, the 3 guys were very good looking. And nice. And helpful. And efficient. And ON TIME. Sweet lord, on time. THANK YOU! Secondly, the customer service on the back end was exceptional. Everything was handled quite well, and I was never worried that things would fall through and I'd be schlepping trash out myself. (whew). I would highly recommend them for events large and small. I put in the request about 2 weeks ahead of time, and the needs were met very well. I'd be very comfortable booking a larger amount of staff, or just one or two to help with smaller parties. Our non profit contracted Carol's to staff our charity reception. Along with that we needed rental furniture as well as drapery to convert our event space into the proper place to host a party. Everything was fine until the day of the event. We arrived at the space to find boxes and carts scattered about. With no one onsite to assemble the rentals. We already had guests trickling in (way early). Several phone calls were made to Carol's, finally getting a hold of someone they offered no solutions. We had to get to work assembling tables and setting up bars, distributing the glassware etc. Dressed for the occasion, moving and assembling furniture like we didn't pay for the service. Eventually the bar staff we hired arrived. They quickly planted themselves on the couch and stared at their phones. You would think they would know how and what to do. Someone on our staff with catering experience had to direct their every move. And in terms of who to contact at their employer they offered no solutions. With this fiasco we did not think Carol's would have the audacity to charge us for products and services we did not receive. But a month later a credit card was charged in full. Greed is something else. Beware, should you need rentals from Carol's they use a third party rental company. They claim they spoke to me at the venue and I turned them away. Which is ridiculous, I would not turn away items we had paid for. I was not even on site yet. But should I have been contacted I would have had everything built outside and then when the venue was completely ours we would have moved everything right in. Never again read more

I hired Carol's for server's and bartenders for my July 2017 wedding. They were AWESOME. They did a beautiful job setting up the space, setting up the buffet and keeping it stocked, keeping the space tidy throughout the night, keeping my guests happy, and cleaning at the end of the night. I cannot say enough good things about them. Carol and her administrative staff are also wonderful to work with. We spoke over the phone several times about my event, and ended up having to add a server last minute due to last minute changes I made. I valued their thoughts and recommendations, and everything worked out perfectly. I was very impressed by the professionalism all around. One thing to note, is that I did not find out until after the event that the bartenders had put out a tip jar at the beginning of cocktail hour, before me or my husband arrived. My father in law noticed, tipped the bartenders, and asked them to put away the jar, which they did. This may be standard practice, but I, having never hired bartenders before, did not realize this. I am not upset with the bartenders, as when I was looking back in my e-mails I realized there was a note about tip jars that I should have picked up on, I just want to suggest to others to be aware, and consider tipping the bartenders in advance if you do not want a tip jar at your event. WOW! What an amazing service. This review is looonnngggg overdue as we hired Carol's Event Staffing back in July of 2016 for a major backyard party in the suburbs (Schaumburg). Our evening staff was comprised of Lisa G. and Nathan H. and they were FANTASTIC. My Mom doesn't use Yelp... but she made me promise I would get on here and leave a review (and I knew I had to as well). Lisa was a busy-body, just zipping around like a bee taking care of all the guests, cleaning faster than people could make a mess and keeping the house/ kitchen/ sunroom/ yard in order. I should start by saying that I worked for Carol for 2 years from 2001-2003. I actually parlayed that experience into a full time career that took me around the world and the country and eventually landed me where i am today-- so I am a little biased, but now the very kind of person that can give you the skinny on an event staffing firm since I've used them all over the country. In my former position I used just about every single event staffing firm in the city for HUGE events such as the Millennium Park opening. The people from Carols are by far the best trained, best looking (this matters), and easiest to work with. When it comes to big events- they provide anything you need. They have people capable of managing a large staff of workers...be they from the same agency or not. Lots of training is given to these people so they know what they are doing. Like all companies there are "tiers" of people. Carol doesn't just let anyone go to a private home...you have to be working for her for a long time and have a proven track record before this happens. I have recommended Carol's to plenty of friends and they have all come back with glowing reviews... Carol started this company from scratch (I believe the story is it started in the closet of her apartment or something) and maintains the integrity of the company herself. She is very hands on and has always retained a loyal pool of staffers. Several of which have been permanently hired by some of Chicago's top companies. I also want to add a note for people who want to work at Carol's-- Carol treats her staff better than anyone in the city according to my experience...but the ammount she puts into you is directly proportional to the effort you put into your work...so if you are lazy dont expect too many favors..but if you are a hard worker you can make a great living (or just make some extra $) and be part of a cool company. read more

This last time I called just two days in advance on their hotline and talked with Carol over a weekend who took my order and by Monday morning had found the amazing Josh and Takela to work my event on Tuesday evening (which was a SMASH!) We used Carol's Staffing for our wedding at Ovation. The staff was very attentive and professional. One of the women kept making sure I had food or a drink which was so sweet. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone hosting an event. If I have any piece of criticism, it's very small: the emailing system is not the best. It seems the staff don't have individual emails so you always have to email info@ which can get very confusing, and the main woman we were working with kept forgetting to CC me on emails with my husband which caused me to be unknowingly left out of the loop a couple times. Although the weather and traffic wasn't ideal and they didn't get here with the front time I had hoped, they were pros when they did get here. Everything was still ready for guests at 7pm.
