It's been a little while now, but some time ago, mum's house got flooded. I'm not entirely sure what happened. The hot water service had some sort of issue with the way things were going, and decided to show mum who the boss was, so it spat the dummy, and at the same time, spat a whole heap of water through the house. The worst bit was the smell of wet, rotting carpet while we waited for the insurer to pay up so we could go and fix it. We went to Carpet Call at Nunawading. I was really impressed with the range of carpets and other floor coverings that they had there, and if they didn't have what we wanted, they could order it in. The staff were really friendly, and after shopping around at a few other places, we decided to go with the really quite good quote provided by Carpet Call. The guys who laid the carpet were really professional and friendly too. They even helped me move a few of the larger items that would have been a struggle on my own. If you want to be screwed around with, go to this place. 4 days before installation, the carpet we chose and paid a deposit on 3 weeks earlier was suddenly unavailable. None of the TEN other alternatives we chose were available. Then they tried to "upsell" us to a poorer quality carpet for more money. On top of that it took weeks for us to get our deposit back. so much drama! working with carpet call.... 1. the manager moves to different store n he forgets about ma order. there u go ma precious few days 2. manager comes up with 5 different prices in two minutes. 3. the quote increases even if the sq. metre is reduced 4. staffs does not know how much it costs for delivery 5. ordered on 3/12 today is 18/12 they still dont know when the warehouse will get the quads. i had to postpond the laying 1 week. there again ma days gone. called the office at sevenhills says they will call me when they have the quads. such a ...... and i am starting ma job on Thursday. 6.
