I started looking online, found one that I wanted to look at and contacted the realtor that was attached to the listing. This happened to be Tim Elder. Tim first showed me some condos, which were quickly ruled out when I found out I couldn't rent them to non-family members AND they included an HOA fee of $300. For what you ask? I still don't really understand...it seemed like it was for nothing more than building insurance, since the place didn't have a pool or anything like that. So I looked at a few more houses until I found a remodel that fit my budget and met my needs. Now I'm not expecting a realtor to go above and beyond like the ones on HGTV...but this guy did nothing except show me where to sign. He really didn't act like he cared about me getting my money's worth, or negotiating appropriately, and I feel like I could've gotten a lesser selling price if I had pushed harder. When the house was in contract, the VA (I did a VA loan), had certain stipulations which the seller balked at. Sorry dude, this isn't coming from me, it's coming from the VA. Tim, instead of negotiating with the sellers' realtor like a professional would, had me call the sellers realtor, who in turn had me call the seller directly. Me, being naive, entered into a phone conversation with the seller where he berated me on what "I" was asking of him, what the house cost to remodel, etc. etc. Wish I could remember this guy's name as well...he is a professional flipper in San Angelo and he was a real piece of work. I had agreed to move into the house during escrow and pay some rent that factored into the house price. Immediately I noticed a plumbing problem and called Tim. He said he would call the seller...never happened. Two years later I replaced water and sewer lines that were literally falling apart. He also had his buddy do my house inspection. I don't even understand how it passed the water pressure...until I fixed the lines, you couldn't take a shower and run the dishwasher, the sink, or the washing machine at the same time. Luckily that's all fixed now and whenever I decide to rent/sell my house no one else will have to contend with that fiasco. After I closed on the house, a few weeks went by and the seller showed up at my door! Talk about creepy. He wanted to know how everything was going. I told him about the plumbing problem, but since the closing it was too late. I'm glad I bought my house and I plan on turning it into a rental property once I (hopefully) leave San Angelo. However, I will not be using Tim Elder's services whatsoever when that time comes. My boyfriend used Janice Petty at ERA recently and she was FABULOUS.

I am a single, first time buyer with a small budget yet she treats me like a million- dollar client and does not make me feel bad about having such a tiny budget. She has worked nights, weekends, and even holidays to show me homes outside of normal business hours after I got off work and always answers her phone, texts and emails: always with pep in her voice and a genuine smile on her face! She even goes as far to speak with my lender! Janet has never pushed me into a home i dont want, has given sound, legitimate advice, and has always been VERY patient with me. After paying them the rent on the 31st the day before its due for our first full month in apartment by the 4th we had a letter stating we had had several complaints on loud noises between 2 and 3 am and people over at all times and then another letter stating we had 30 days to vacate. When addressed that this was completely false and why they didn't notify us when the very first supose complaint came in he stated well I'm telling you now only 40 days of living in apartment i said this is crap he said whatever I don't have to renew ur lease and reminding him that's unprofessional and to speak to me like that shows what type of people they are. My family and I have been living here for over a year now and we just resigned our lease a few…read moremonths ago when they were changing property management companies. I'm not sure why they got rid of the old management but the new management seems to be incompetent and are of no help. Last summer our window nets got destroyed from the storms and I put in a work order to get them replaced so we could open our windows (we live near the lake so the amount of bugs and spiders crawling around is gross) and they never came out. I asked at least 3 times and they told me they had to order new ones. That must have been a lie because they still never came. I gave up on that idea. Then a few weeks ago we had a major storm and a neighbors large trampoline was thrown into our backyard and it damaged some of the wood siding on the roof area. It took almost a week to get in contact with the owner of the trampoline and he still didn't remove it after we had asked him too. So we went to the management office and they said it was between us and the owners of the trampoline. I thought that was a little absurd since we rent and don't own the property so I thought they'd have to get involved. Then I let them know about the damage and against the management office said that the owner would have to claim it with his insurance and they once again cannot get involved. How do I make sure if he claimed it or not if I don't even own the property he damaged? I wanted them to reassure me that this would not cause any problems when it's time for us to move out and their exact words were "no I do not THINK it would cause a problem". So much for reassurance! And my latest complaint is the broken AC. The AC broke on Friday and I called it in that morning and the girl said she would put in a work order. Knowing them, I didn't expect them to come out until the next week even though it's been in the high 90s. Today is Sunday and with three fans blowing, it's still excruciatingly hot and we can't open our windows because they never replaced the nets -_- oh and I'm writing this review while I sit in my air conditioned car outside of my house. The space and backyard is nice but it's not worth the money. I can't wait to get out of here! Oh and the new online bill pay is confusing and the management couldn't even help me set it up because they were just as confused! It might be better now but I'm just going to stick with giving them checks.

I noticed he advertised many for sale homes and decided to call and ask if they had any rentals. Rodney was extremely rude and short with me, even though I was completely polite. When he realized that I was looking for a rental, not to buy, he hung up on me! How rude!! Their website has a link for rentals, which is the only reason I called in the first place. I did notice that about a month after this phone call, his listings for RENTALS started popping up all over CL. I'd just be cautious, it's pretty clear who is only out for the almighty dollar here.
