We first tried calling vets in our own area but they either weren't taking new pets or were scheduling months in advance. So we drive farther to get to Lakeside, but we are satisfied with them. The appointments haven't been too far in the future and we have liked the people we have spoken to so far. They are observing pandemic protocols, which are fine with me. You wait outside and let them know you are there, and someone comes out to talk to you and get your critter. Then an assistant or even the doctor comes out to talk to you. We needed a prescription for insulin for our Sunny Jim, and it was easy to arrange through Chewy.com. I can edit this review at a later date if I need to add details about the quality and cost of care over a longer term, but we are satisfied now and don't expect to be disappointed later. At this point I wouldn't even switch to one of the local vets if they got less busy.

She was extremely professional, informative and was very thorough with her exam of Ashton. I left the exam with more knowledge and confidence that everything was going to be okay. After 4 days of an absolute nightmare situation, I cannot express how thankful and grateful I am for the entire staff here. I…read moretook in an abused, neglected dog and went broke paying for an emergency vet visit - so when she needed yet more veterinary attention not only couldn't I find any veterinarian within an hour of Bangor that was taking new clients and/or wasn't booking out MONTHS. Another emergency vet visit wasn't financially possible, I was devastated and desperate. When someone suggested a place in Cornville, ME I called Meadow Woods and they took the time, effort to find the soonest time they could see my dog. 2. The veterinarian that saw my dog had decades of experience. He made the experience the less frightening, etc as possible for my dog and came up with a treatment plan. 3. I was preparing myself for a large bill while checking out, then couldn't believe the amount I was charged for everything! I paid a fraction of what I'd have paid at any other vet clinic! Oh and they automatically filled the prescriptions the vet put my dog on, had them in labeled pill bottles and ready to go when I checked out! The visit fee, a rabies booster, a steroid injection, RX flea treatment, oral prednisone (steroid), oral antibiotics and a new pet charge...the total was just under $200!!!!!! My dog had been evaluated and treated by an emergency vet and a 'regular' vet, both did the same things which produced pretty limited results. At Meadow Woods the vet quickly stated that he was certain what was wrong and what my dog needed - and a matter of days later my dog wasn't in pain anymore, started healing and everything! Cornville is way out of the way for most Mainers. The drive there and back took us over 3 hours but it was DEFINITELY worth it. I'll be using Meadow Woods from now on.

Belittling an…read more80+ year old woman who has been a client/customer for nearly two decades because she wants her pet's prescription filled online to save money was told she was WRONG it is not the same medication and is not less money. It is a national brand medication so it absolutely is the same medication. The employee finally said I am NOT going to argue with you. Well, then don't is my advice in the first place! We ALL know it is less money online. Also, the vet tech was rudely informing my mother that she needed her annual vaccines and my mother said she knew but was not getting them "today" the tech lectured her that the rabies is state law. My mother told her - but I am not required by law to get it done here. I have found a vaccine clinic that does these for her for less than half that she goes to now. A lot of people are living on VERY fixed income and are doing the best they can so there is no need to be verbally abusive. She did not ask for a discount or anything free so no need to talk down to her. It seems the staff at every level other than the actual veterinarian are unacceptably rude. One time when my mother did express she was not happy with how she was being treated the employee said would you like me to get your records ready to picked up for transfer. Literally insinuating don't let the door hit you in the axx on the way out attitude to my mother. They need to be reminded how to treat CUSTOMERS and not be abusive and shame our elderly. This has been going on since they changed owners. I am actively trying to find another animal clinic for my mother. The biggest issue she has is she is older and doesn't get around like she used to. It is such a shame this place has cruel staff to elderly with a very nice veterinarian. It makes me wonder if the owner even has a clue. I do know the veterinarian does not own the place. Again, run don't walk if at all possible and from the look of many of the other reviews it appears to be a common experience.
