Both locations we've been to have been clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. There is a game room to keep the kids busy while we wait. They look forward to getting their bag of stickers, tattoos and freebies, along with a balloon animal after their checkup. They get handed a hand-held video game while they get their teeth cleaned. Even my 3yo had a tear-free first cleaning. They do everything possible to ensure kids have a positive, fun experience at the dentist and my kids are always excited to go back every 6 mo. Being able to schedule it and plug it into my phone with a reminder alert would be super helpful to keep me accountable. They accept Care Credit which helps to be able to make monthly payments on spendier procedures for those of us with no insurance.

This is the first practice ever where I have had to pay taxes for a fully covered preventative service. This is not a normal practice. I was met with a lot of rudeness when asked to have this explained to me. 2. During an appointment we were asked if we wanted fluoride. I asked if my children has already had their one covered for the year, and was told no. Then I was charged for the cost, because we had already had it at the last appointment. When I called to ask, I was told it was not the offices responsibility to know what I had been billed for. Even though they billed my insurance. I felt I was blamed for not doing a better job of checking their billing practices, instead of them questioning whether or not that is a shady practice. 3. The final straw was a shift to only scheduling 2 months in advance even though we should be regularly seen every 6 months. When I called to explain that this practice-serving service I was told if I didn't want to have to pull my children out of school for an appointment I was welcome to call each week to try to get a better time. Did you know that recently I get it feedback and questioning is not always welcomed.

I would not recommend this dental office based on my experience…read more I had 5 fillings done here in January, and I have had constant pain ever since. Shortly after the procedure I began experiencing severe sensitivity to hot, cold, and even room temperature food/drinks. The pain lingers and I now deal with random throbbing throughout the day. This is not normal and has not improved with time. When I went back to have this addressed, I asked to see a different dentist/team for a second set of eyes. They adjusted my bite and applied fluoride, but nothing changed. I was then told that if it still hurt after two months, it likely wouldn't get better. When I first asked for my X-rays, I was told they typically only send them to another dentist and was encouraged to come back in instead. Now that I've decided to seek a second opinion elsewhere, they sent my X-rays immediately with no attempt to resolve the issue further. The procedure itself was also a terrible experience. The numbing injection was extremely painful and sent a shock through my entire body that briefly left me feeling paralyzed. I have never had dental pain like this in my life, and it has significantly affected what and how I eat. At this point, I am seeking care elsewhere. If you value your health and comfort, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before committing to treatment here.

Dr. Gruenes made sure to take molds and scans so that if anything were to happen we would have an action plan. The staff is super friendly and extremely attentive. They aren't in my network for insurance but I don't care. The space is always clean, they offer all kinds of additional services, and the equipment they have is top notch. He looked at my x-rays and told me that he didn't feel I had any cavities, just a small pocket he could fill since I wouldn't be back for a year. No numbing agents even needed! I walked out of here spending less for the cleaning, x-rays, and filling/sealing of that pocket than I would have spent on just a cleaning in Austin without x-rays! I feel like he was very honest and thorough and I will definitely be coming back the next year when I am in town. Bye bye overpriced Austin dentists!
