The buildings are professionally cleaned every day by some of the kindest people who really care about the look and smell of the place. Delightful and refreshing managers that make you feel welcome. Very nice and affordable apartment that is minutes from downtown. But it's best to keep it very quiet here. Some of the residents are extremely protective/snoopy/will report all and everything they don't like as if you live in their backyard and forget it's an apartment complex. But it is quiet. Peaceful. Affordable.

As a young single woman, I always felt safe here (at least from people). So there is that. However, I was on a ground level apartment, and I had two windows that I could never lock myself. I did bring this up with management, but they sent two maintenance men to force it shut and lock it. I could never do this myself. After a few times, I stopped asking and put a board up to feel more security, but I still wanted fresh air from time to time. Outside of that, my one-star review is primarily for the following two-reasons: 1. Mold 2. Dust Mold: On three separate occasions, I had mold in my ceiling and they had to take a chunk out of the ceiling to patch it up. These were caused by pipes bursting or a washing machine leaking. Twice was in the bathroom, and once in the 2nd bedroom. Pipes appear to be bursting all over this building as you walk through the hallways, you can see some odd-colored patches on the ceiling and tacks holding up the wall paper. I came home from a vacation once and found my closet was moist and water dripping down the walls. On another occasion in the same bedroom closet, I noticed that the carpet was soaked again and I could hear water running behind the walls. They were very slow to fix the mold in bathroom, even though I called and messaged multiple times and was concerned for my health. The first time I experienced the issue, I was even corrected by the office that it wasn't mold, it was mildew (she said this without coming to look first). Regardless, it needed to be fixed. I saw a range of colors from pink to tan to black to green growing on my ceiling. During this period, my hairline began to recede. While I can't really know if the mold had anything to do with it, I wouldn't be surprised. While hair loss has never been a problem for women in my family, I went to the doctor to confirmed the hair loss. Fortunately, now that I've moved out, it appears to be filling back in. I was so worried it was just me and it would never come back! Also, I've never lived anywhere that was dustier in my life. Dust would accumulate after just one week like the item had been abandoned for two years- even a can of soup that I bought the week prior! For some of my clothing that I was not wearing often (like my nice suits), they were lined with dust on the shoulders. I had to rinse out my Tupperware each time I used it because it would have lines of dust. When I moved out, I washed all my clothing since they all had this gritting dusty feel to it. I do not think this is healthy, and air flow is very poor during the winter months. I'm not sure it's good to breath that in all the time. There is definitely more I could say, but I feel this is enough for a 1-star review. Safe from crime standpoint, but I'm not sure if it's safe for health there. After a full year, I left. They did issue me a rental credit of $100 for my troubles, which was laughably about as little as you could do. I had sent an e-mail that presented my understanding of the rent credit, but I never heard a response. I called to ask about this "rent credit" piece after I received the deposit. Her snappy response hurt after all I went through, and I was always so nice and understanding about it all when perhaps I should not have been. At least here, I can warn others.

The laundry rooms are on every level and also open 24 hours. I enjoy being able to park my car in the garage and walking to Medicine lake in the summer. During the winter months, they remove snow and tenant safety is important to the management here. I feel really safe living here and these are great apartments and a great place for families. I had a recent change in my job and need to relocate to be closer. I really debated sucking up the 1.5 hour commute because I am so happy here. What's to love: a garage space included in the rent, lots and lots and lots of storage, generally a very quiet place, the management is so responsive to requests, great outdoor pool and a super convenient location. I can get to downtown Minneapolis in 15 minutes, downtown St. Paul in 20 minutes, 694 in 2 minutes.... The property is owned by Mateer Properties. They own three or so other apartment complexes in the area. I highly recommend them and highly recommend this property. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to live here and hope the next tenants have as good of an experience as I have had.

I can walk to work in 30 mins or take the bus. This was one of the many reason I wanted to rent here. The buses run so frequently which is ideal for me getting back and forth to Minneapolis on the weekends. The property is so inviting. The landscape is always well done and the pool area is always well kept. The caretaker is very friendly and does a wonderful job keeping the property clean. The maintenance workers are efficient and does a wonderful job at keeping the apartment clean after any repairs. The office staff is very responsive when you call and have an open door policy so you can feel free to stop by during business hours. I love that the each building only go up to the 3rd floor and only have 6 apartments on each floor. I feel safe when I enter the building because I can see the entire floor at a glance. I love that they have a laundry floor in each floor and you can use the laundry on any of the 3 floors. There's also an open yard area with gas grills for all the residents to use. The property is right across the street from Target, Cub Food, HarMar Mall and many restaurants. This is a supper plus for me because I don't drive. They definitely went above and beyond their scope of work with genuine compassion for my Moms situation. The neighbors stomping all hours of the day and night into the early am hours is vibrating our apartment to the extent we have to sleep with ear plugs and have 4 fans running just to try and drown out the noise and vibrations. We are not the only ones either. We can't even have glass in our cabinets in the kitchen due to vibrations.. We also had a gas leak in our furnace that filled our whole apartment with natural gas. It took over a week to get sorted out and was leaking for our first two months. Be careful and read the whole 75 page lease. They can pretty much have any reason to enter your apartment. We have been entered 6 times for inspections and maintenance in our first 2 months. Also add roughly another $180 to your monthly bill for their common allocation, media package, pest control, sewer, trash, water and service fees. This does not include your gas and electricity or the extra $60 garage parking space. They want close to $8000 with two months notice to break the lease. I would think since these conditions are unacceptable and unethical they would be more understanding. This is more than just apartment living noise and disturbance.

The things I liked were the facilities, nice gym, outdoor pool, dog wash area, and an elegant common room area. The things that I did not like about the building was that the staff seemed to only care about themselves and not really the residents. I had a few issues which I felt like when I would go to the staff about the answers were rude and not reassuring. I had issues of my packages being torn open, taped back together, and missing items. You pay a $500 cleaning fee when moving in but then I am still charged for tiny stains that the building says they were able to get out of the carpet. Which I should not be charged extra for unless it was not removable. What was the point of paying a $500 cleaning fee in the first place. It puts your mind at ease but then after moving out you find out they will charge you for something that can be fixed. When I first moved in on move in day, they messed up the scheduling to reserve my loading zone time which left a bad taste in my mouth as soon as I moved in. I had signed my lease 6 months before move in and after a month of waiting I wanted to cancel, but they wouldn't let me unless I paid ridiculous fees. Which the building was not even open yet and my unit not even built yet, so there should have been an easier way since it was still many months ahead. I've lived at other Luxury apartments before and for what you pay at Loden I would say is 50% worth it. The amenities are the winner. But, having to deal with staff, and all the policies it is not that great. Also, having to worry about your mail is really stressful. All in all, I didn't want to move here, but was stuck into the lease. I made the most of my experience while there, but there were definitely issues along the way.

I call in am tell them they can key in while I am work and problem is fixed when I arrive home. The neighborhood is quiet and management does not put up with any noise or partying. The manager Anna is lovely and always helpful. I have never seen a bug in this place other than ants outside on patio which they spayed for same day. Not even many spiders. The hallway and air freshener is a bit of an issue... But it does NOT smell like urine.. It is a closed entrance hallway so now and then their are cooking smells. The common areas are cleaned thoroughly each week as I have seen them vacuum. I think 1 star review was an angry tenant. There are some issues due to age of building.. The rent is creeping up year to year but I have been a renter for 15 years and this is my favorite apartment.. Large for cost of rent and area is safe and like living in country with all the convenience of city. Would have given a 5 but would like to see some updates if rent is going to go up higher. Decks would look cooler painted for instance.
