My husband and I were thrilled to see that a Chinese restaurant has opened in Wiesbaden serving authentic Chinese cuisine. Most restaurants in Germany and even the US deliver a modified version more catered towards western tastes and expectations. Carrie is wise to hold on to tradition and deliver dishes that bring unique and delightful flavors that can be appreciated by anyone.
She brought us Shanghai four happiness baked bran (#603) which is a cold dish of braised wheat gluten, mushrooms, and peanuts with a slight sweetness to it. Also, the Zhou Zhuang Edamame and Pickled Brassica (#604). These starters made a great first impression. My main dish was the Kung Pao Chicken. It was very good but not too spicy, I could have taken a bit more heat but it was not lacking in flavor.
We will be back again to try the famous Peking Duck that we hear is their special.
Carrie was also a delight to talk to, was helpful and informative. She would be a great source for suggestions if you don't know what to try. A very warm and welcoming restauranteur.
Update: We came back a couple days later for take away and the food was packaged and prepared just as nicely as it would have been dining in. So many things on the menu to try! Carrie was helpful on the phone with our order and made suggestions again. read more
