The best thing about Anderson is that you don't have to guess if you will get in. At least, not yet. They have not yet switched over to competitive admissions - as long as you meet the criteria, you are in. I had to take two pre-reqs, but considering I was a Psych major, that's hardly surprising. The faculty are generally really good. There are a few here and there who don't seem to care, but you can avoid them in most cases. They just lost one of their best to retirement (McKnight) which is unfortunate - he was a very tough but very fair and extremely effective teacher. I went into this degree thinking it was a nice backup for my law degree, which I am now working on.They have a dual degree program, which is nice, but it's rarely used so no one really knows how to make it work. The rules are stricter on the law side, so if you go that route, make sure you know everything about it before moving forward. The advisors were crucial to me in the beginning, but I haven't needed much from them once I got going. However, they are there and fairly easy to communicate with. As a nontraditional student, it's difficult for me to get to them in person during the day since I work. However, they are really good about getting back to you via email. I did have to find a way to get to them in person a time or two at the beginning, but that was it. In general, I feel I have learned quite a bit at Anderson, and should I choose to go into Accounting I will be well prepared. It's all public accounting, which was not what I had expected, but a good foundation for the profession. I give it a thumbs up!

My son is starting sixth grade at Jimmy Carter Middle School this year and I have only been inside the school during school registration, so cannot comment on how it is throughout the year just yet. The school is very modern and seems to be well taken care of. There are five buildings and forty portable classrooms. The staff so far has been very nice and very helpful and making my son's transition into Middle School great.

I took French when I was in college a few years back, so when I decided to sign up for French classes here, they told me about the "False Beginners" course. This is an intensive 1 week program to refresh all your basics of French, so it's perfect for those who have taken French before and don't want to start from Beginners I. They offer opportunities to practice your French outside the classroom as well, they meet up in coffee shops roughly once a month to practice your French language skills. I have taken two courses in this institution, and in general the professors are great, ones more dynamic and creative than others. The one thing I don't love about their teaching system is that the textbook they use for the courses is a 2001 edition, almost 20 years old! I know the basics of the language is the same, but the examples, vocabulary and illustrations could use an update!

They offer all levels of French, from beginner to advanced at very convenient times and often more than one class a week. The classes are small groups. So far for me they have not been larger than six people, but they can have up to ten students per class. My two French teachers have had very different teaching styles, but both have been very fun, motivating and successful. Every time French class is over, I feel that I don't want to stop. When I objected to the $250 fee and was walking away to take my business elsewhere, the drive instructor tried to goad me into a fight, saying "don't walk away, turn around," and "come at me, bro." They don't get it. Their lack of professionalism is why I am going to another place for my driver hours and none of my younger children or friends will be going here. Even if the guy wasn't 6'2" and 250 lb, I wouldn't fight him. These people are the epitome of unprofessional bullies.

They were always accommodating of scheduling issues, knowledgeable in how to navigate the mvd licensing system as a non-minor, and took the time to know us and our specific needs as individuals. And now, a few months out from when I took the class and got my license, I can say with absolute confidence that Coach Eddie and the staff at coach Al's driving school went above and beyond to set me up for success. Tough but fair and caring, they made sure we were ready to drive with confidence in ourselves and our abilities. Whenever I drive I think of the lessons and advice coach gave us and know that I'm a better driver for it. I can't recommend them more, especially if you're an adult learner.

He would repeatedly tell me to call back, dodge my calls, tell me he's going to call back in an hour (he did not), and when I called back to follow up (expecting him to be professional and call when he SAYS he's going to call), he basically bit my head off and used the flaky excuse that "I get busy". (It had been 9 hours since he said he'd call back in an hour.) I have yet to have any of the 5 remaining lessons I am owed, and honestly, I don't intend to. He has been nothing but rude, unprofessional, and flaky since our first 2 lessons. I don't know what happened to make him flip so suddenly, but I am extremely displeased and offended by his conduct. I would not recommend him to anyone looking to get their license in the next year, as your schedule clearly does not matter to him.
