I'd like to say I grew up with his kids actually lived with this family after being kicked out of the house. At a young age dealing with at home problems and a addiction problems. Carrol rugged MARINE look was comforting he would sit with me untill the sun would come up talking with me and helping a very troubled kid. He fed me and gave me a roof over my head, even took the time teach me a thing or two. Untill I let my addiction get the best of me. Years passed I found myself homeless on a bike passing by Carrols house thinking if he seen me like this he'd be so disappointed. For whatever reason with my pride broken I decided to knock. You know he was excited to see me was happy I was alive he talked to me made sure I was okay gave me money. I went about my way. Yeah his words sometimes wasn't what I wanted to hear at the moment but i can say this he always spoke the truth. So as I read these comments I would just like to say. Yes if you want a guy with a comb over and eyebrows plucked and a fancy suit that tells you what you want to hear.... You probably want someone other Corrol. Now you want someone who will tell you exactly how it is and will be a able to relate to because Corrol is a actual kind hearted human being??? Then this is your man!!!! I spent 300$ for a consult, and some printing of some bruises I had sustained. He did give me some good advice by telling me that he has never seen someone get in trouble for recording in a marital DV situation. Later, he was rude to me on the phone and told me not to call again unless I was ready to put down a 3k retainer. A close friend of mine retained him when her marriage was on the rocks. He was out dick hunting, and missed her court appearance. She got her whole retainer back. No one in my opinion is as bad as Kelsie Wheeler who shares the same office building as Carrol. I hear both of them care about the money more than winning your case. In my experience it's tough to get almost any lawyer to care much after they have your retainer. Lots of the layers , and judges wont even remember your name. read more

If you would like an attorny that takes a minimum of a week to get back to you via any means, carroll is for you. You can call twice a day and still not reach him. When he eventually gets back to you he'll cut you of mid sentence and end the call. He does not prepare your witnesses but instead will tell endless stories of his wife, race horse, and fire arms, all while on your dime. Will get into contract for a retaining fee, telling you it'll cover you through a certain period and then prior to that period will request additional money with no back up documentation, or itemized receipt to provide. He will forget your name (in court) multiple times, and will pick literal fights with the other party. He will ask the same EXACT question so many times that Judge will have to intervene, and tell him to stop, not just once or twice. Don't worry, you can give him declarations, evidence, or anything else for the matter and it won't make it past his desk! Not a single piece! Run. Run far away from this and hire literally anybody else. read more

NO STARS - this man should be disbarred! He put my kids in danger! I paid 2500 for him to sit on my case for 2 months and NOT file one document with the court! When you first meet him he talks as if he'll get things done, then week after week of getting nowhere! He told me NOT to listen to the police and to shut my mouth and be agreeable to my ex's demands. My ex lies in court and I had verifiable proof and yet, Mr. Peiffer did nothing! He turned his back on me in court and refused to tell the judge my side of things which made the judge rule against me. That in turn, led to my kids being placed in a dangerous household where they suffered mental, physical and emotional abuse. Take your money and run! He refused to admit he did anything wrong and even called me expletives when I went to pick up my case file. It's like being in the sticks of the twilight zone! Mr. Peiffer was my attorney for a family law matter. He took my money ($7,000), I never saw a bill and he never filed a single document with the court. He never returned phone calls, or emails. He was dismissive and rude on many occasions. He showed up to court multiple occasions with bed head and unprepared. He refused to call any witnesses or prepare for a trial. He just wanted to settle, and he didn't care if the settlement was good for his client. I have reached out him multiple times to get a billing statement and of course I never hear anything from him. read more

Worst experience of my life! Once you give him $ Don't expect a call back or email in a reasonable time. No matter how many messages you leave on the voicemail or with secretary. Sets appointments with you but when you show up the door is locked and noone is there and then won't answer your calls. Says he really wants to work with you and once you are fed up of over 3 months of not being able to speak to him you go to get your money and he makes up reasons why he can't do a check or all the work he did for you to give you barely any back. This attorney has absolutely no care for their client once the retainer fee is obtained. A crisis with two kids and a mother in dire need to get her abusive husband away was not priority for this attorney to ensure an emergency order was filed . A very lazy attempt was made and by doing so error after error was performed to a point of which the mother had to seek a shelter instead of being with family and the father got custody of the kids which they did NOT want being they feared him. I am still trying to fix the mess that this attorney made of my case... 1st of all, Carroll Peiffer lies (pretty regularly). He seemed like a nice guy, so I believed what he was telling me. BIG MISTAKE!!! After charging me his retainer fee for divorce, twice (totalling almost $7000), I found out he did not file ANYTHING (meaning court minutes) to become judgment except for the final divorce decree. I lost out on spousal support. He also changed the agreed (in mediation) custody arrangement. He rarely returned calls and responded, once in a while, after many emails sent to him. He did not fight for me. Child support could've been more (considering the ex got two promotions during the process of divorce...took almost 2 years). He didn't tell me about court dates, so I missed some of them. At one point, he even took on his daughter-in-law's clients and became too busy to focus on his own clients. When I was finally fed up, it took him 3 months to remove himself from my case. Until he did that, I could not proceed getting the mess fixed. (Thankfully, the family law facilitator has been great help.) If you're looking for an honest, hardworking lawyer, Carroll Peiffer is NOT the one. read more

If I could give no stars I would... when I called him for a consultation he fed me everything I wanted to hear... we needed to get my sister and her children out of a very toxic abuse relationship and the guys an alcoholic who drives all the time with the kids in the car ... he then told me he need a $5000k retaining fee And explained why he needed the $5k. Mind first thing first all we needed was a restraining order, and attorney when cares about his client s good have at least advised us that we can go do it our selves at the court house to save money... it took him 9 days before we fired him to file a emergency restraining order for my sister and her twins. He not only filed incorrectly all 3 times but took my sister physically going to his office picking up the restraining order paperwork to properly turn it in at the courthouse when she did he o my did it for her and disregard the children's safety completely. We did hire a new attorney and he has done more in 3 days then this attorney did the whole nine days! Out of the 5k he charged us 3k ... if you think you deserve to get paid for dropping the ball 3 times is absolutely ridiculous. We would try to get a hold of him and the front desk would yell at us telling me to stop calling because we needed documents from him to show the police . And still charged us for those phone calls ... we are in the process of trying to get a full refund because he literally did nothing ... he only cares about getting paid and did nothing to make sure my sisters kids were safe and all he had to say was it's not the end of the world... he just does not care ... save your money ... I read bad reviews about carrol, but after talking with him I decided to give him a shot. A friend of mine recommended him. Turns out the only reason he helped my friend was because the defending party gave up. Carrol is very unprofessional and does not communicate. He has a lot of errors in the court paperwork, has my son labeled as a female, All birth dates are wrong and spells the last name wrong. I notified him of the mistakes and he failed to fix it. It seemed like he was more of the opposing parties attorney then mine. I do not recommend him for anyone. He charged me $3500 and $500 court fees. I havent received any paperwork showing how he used it, and he said he used it all up after attending only One court date. I hired a separate attorney to take his place in court and replaced him. read more

I trusted him with my life and I'm glad I did! I've been afraid to stand up against my ex husband and his family for years over our kids . I no longer had to fight this on going battle and heartache alone ! Finally had someone help me and stand up for me and it was amazing. I watched Carroll Tear my ex up on the stand and it was like watching a work of art .no one has ever stood up against him and it finally happened and I was there to watch and I'm glad I was ! He called out all the bs and lies ' . And I got an even better custody agreement than I was excepting . Another thing I liked I didn't have to call him every day and ask a million questions he knows how to do his job so let him !!!!! Don't worry so much and let him work ! I know that's hard to do but he's had many of the same cases and situations and yes he understands what everyone is going through . Carroll Peiffer was contracted to accomplish a relatively simple eviction for a building we own. The lessor had sublet rooms in the building and those tenants were to also be evicted. He failed to post the proper notices for everyone in the building. As he had been notified of those tenants, he should have ensured the proper eviction procedures were followed. He represented us to evict everyone in the building and we won on that account. However, due to his negligence, the other tenants submitted a complaint. He refused to represent us in court unless we paid another $500, even though it was his mistake that allowed the other tenants to file. He was asking for more money even before this incident! The tenants won, due to Mr. Peiffer's mistakes, and were able to stay another month rent free. Carrol Peiffer simply went through the motions and didn't do any research to ensure our desired outcome. He never called to let us know how the eviction process was going and never returned our calls when we had questions. His professional ethics are questionable at best since he made no effort to correct or acknowledge his mistakes. He even had the audacity to demand more money to represent us with the complaint. I don't know what kind of a lawyer he may be concerning other matters, but don't use him for the types of situations I have already mentioned. His moral compass and professionalism were absent during our situation and he should have offered to refund at least part of the money we gave him. Even the Judge that presided over our case has ordered a review of Mr. Peiffer as he didn't show up for the second court date as he was required to do. Find someone else to help you as your expectations will probably not be met if you employ him to represent you. read more

BEWARE of this lawyer. Actually a lawyer is a joke! Carroll started work on my sisters case and within a week of NOTHING getting done, we had to hire another lawyer. My sister's case involved domestic abuse and two kids. This idiot was not concerned for their safety and kept blaming everyone else. This idiot couldn't even file a simple restringing order. The judge denied the order twice because the paper work was filed incorrectly. This idiot also is very unprofessional, manipulative and literally doesn't know how to deliver as a lawyer. His office is very unprofessional, the wife or girlfriend who is his front desk yells at customers when we tried calling. as soon as the 5k was paid, the lawyer isn't available by phone. The best part to this story, is he returned a portion of the 5K but sent a bill for 3K of work done! Literally nothing was accomplished with this guy. We had to get another lawyer to work on our case. Save your money. There are a lot of lawyers available that do great work. I read the reviews before hiring this guy and assumed the "he stole my money without any work" reviews were just irritated people who lost their case. No. I'm here to write a honest review. This attorney took my retainer, did very little work, and subsequently damaged my family law case. I never received a bill during 2 months of representation, despite constant asking. And was forced to terminate him as counsel due to this. When I finally received my bill it was severely over charged, inaccurately billed for, and non compliant with the business and professions code which defines how an attorney is suppose to bill according to the law. I disputed the bill with him personally and received a derogatory phone call. Then I filed for fee arbitration with the county BAR association. This attorney ignored the BARs attempts to contact him, canceled multiple arbitrations, and even failed to show. Finally, he attended after several months and the arbitrator found that money needed to be returned to me. Unfortunately, he did not comply, or even respond to my attempt to contact him after this, and I had to file a small claims case. Which he did not show up for. The judge made a judgement to collect money and am in the process of doing so now. I'm writing this hoping it will bring awareness to the reality and for someone who thought the same as me, that the other reviews were disgruntled losing clients, to realize that they are accurate and that the law was on my side here. Our experience with this attorney has been 5 stars. He provided us with options and information that even our insurance company didn't know about. His recovery fee is 20% less than the other attorneys we contacted and he's a real person not a plastic coated pseudo human like the others. When he rolled up on a Harley I knew he'd be interesting and he was. He didn't sugar coat anything it was straight up facts and he went above and beyond to help us with our issue. He never does what he says he will do! He keeps saying he will file my papers but never does. He is putting it out so far it will mess with my custody out come. His secretary Leaves him messages he never gets back to me, iv left over 6 messages in the past week. Also his secretary never knows anything, like when he will be back so i can talk to him. I'm just getting really fed up and I hope you don't waste your money on him like I did. He will sweet talk you in his office just to get you to write a check once the check is written and cashed you no longer matter. I am very disappointed in the way he was handling my wife and my case with auto accident its nearly been two yrs since the accident and nothings been done and at the last minute he sends us papers to fill out and we had no ideal how to fill them out and he was informed of that then we were called by our insurance shortly afterwards over the weekend saying we were dropped by him cause we were told there was a hearing that next day and we werent informed of that either and apparently he wasnt at all ready for it he informed me that i had to get those papers filled out and so my wife and i did the best we could and took it to him he had all of our documents and bills all accident reports and statements prior to all of this it was a hit and run accident buy a drunk driver we had insurance and uninsured motorist and that driver was caught he was not insured not a very difficult case at all plus us not having anything for the case it was hard for us to fill out those papers now i have no attorney to help us no civil suit was ever filed against driver and the attorney knew i wanted that done now i know the statue of limitations is at its end so now my wife and i are going to be screwed out of everything and be stuck with medical bills no time to find another attorney and no time to file civil case its been just about two yrs now and nothing has been done no reason for it all because it was all just put on a back burner til the last minute he had everything and allways did from the day he took our case i not only knew him as an attorney but as a friend and friends dont do that to each other it was a simple case that anyone could of won easy money in his pocket but he saw it as not much we could end up with so he just didnt do anything with it so now we just didnt lose out with the accident we will lose out of any case we could of had he could of been honest with us read more

Carroll is a man. He is very knowledgeable and capable. However he is very unorganized, waits to the last minute, and does not follow through. He only fights for the things he thinks he can win and doesn't even try to get you what you need. Then expects you to be grateful for the little he did do. Then when its all said and done he won't file the paperwork (findings and order after hearing) you need for the order. Then your ex has an open door to take advantage and it will cost you another $6000.00 to hire another attorney, after you fire him, to get the job done. It will save you money in the long run to hire a professional, that will do the job and do it right the first time. He makes up his bills because he is unorganized and does not keep track, and all the sudden you still haven't accomplished anything and you have a huge unitemized bill. The thing I went through with Carroll as my attorney should be against the law and there should be some accountability, however there is not. So chose wisely. I would recommend Kim Steffenson, the attorney I hired to accomplish every thing Carroll did not.
