As I have worked here I have gained a lot of valuable skills as how to be a stronger educator and teacher in my future careers as a teacher that I will cherish and keep with me for my teaching Journey. I loved each child equally and individually and wish all children at this school the best of luck in transforming into Kindergarteners when they go to the public school level of Education. I had a really bad experience with The Goddard school Medfield, I am sure I might have liked it…read moreonce my kid had joined the school but it really didn't happen due to the poor communication from the school and how they handled the situation. I would not recommend The Goddard, Medfield. I paid a non-refundable (don't know if any daycare really does that but they do) monthly deposit to enroll my kid in the Goddard, Medfield and unfortunately, the pandemic hit. I understand the center is closed and the joining date is being moved but it has been more than 2 years now and I still haven't got a proper joining date for my kid. Every time I try to follow up on the joining date the only word they said was they were fully booked and gave a date after ~ 6 months, well if you call closer to that date they say that you were late in calling and we don't have any availability and gave me another date after ~5-6 months. The one comment I didn't like from the head of the school was you paid your deposit and it is your responsibility to follow up and find a date, if you are late in calling us it is your fault. I know the issue started with the pandemic but the real issue was the communication from the school on enrolling my kid, every time I call I get a new date of joining and I had to scramble to find another place for my kid which could be really tricky. I lost my non-refundable deposit but I finally, took the decision that I am not going to have my kid join this school because I am worried about what other issues they might have internally if their communication and leadership are like this and I am not risking that with my kid.

The Campbell School offers a great mix of play and learning, and the teachers invest time to get to know your child as an individual. I am grateful that the school has recently expanded hours and is open to ongoing input and feedback from parents on how to continuously improve the experience for students and parents.

I have two children enrolled at NCSC and I couldn't be happier. The facilities are amazing…read more Classrooms are large, bright, and well stocked and the kids also have access to a gym, auditorium, and a great playground out back. Coming from a city daycare that was housed in a storefront, we couldn't believe how much space our kids had to run around - rain or shine, they get plenty of activity every day. But more important than the space, what makes this place really great are the teachers and staff - they are truly exceptional. Many have been on staff for 10+ years, and they are all caring, dedicated educators. Everyone from the classroom teachers, to the front office staff, to the handyman knows our kids and says hello to them when we arrive. The teachers come up with the best ideas for projects, and give the kids a great foundation for kindergarten. They also have a great sense for how to help kids with individual issues they are working on. For example, we had a difficult transition last fall, big move, new home, new job and new daycare all at once. My then-3-year-old was overwhelmed and scared to go to her new classroom, which her teachers picked up on immediately. They started giving her "special jobs" like taking attendance and handing out snacks. I realized they were encouraging (but not forcing) her to socialize with the other kids, and as a result, she quickly made friends and adjusted to her new school. Within a week, she loved school and looked forward to going. Last but not least, I love the community service component of NCSC. There is an active parents' group that raises money for special events at the school, and NCSC also has a number of programs dedicated to helping low-income families, teen parents, and the elderly. It makes for a very inclusive atmosphere, infused with exactly the kind of values I hope to instill in my kids. I realize this is starting to sound more like a marketing pitch than an honest review, but I assure you, we are a real family who really love NCSC. We've been at 4 daycares before this one, and NCSC is leaps and bounds above the rest.

I have found the leadership to be very transparent and communicative with the families. Truly the teachers love the children so much and they feel incredibly at home. For individual…read moreeducational needs it was important for our child to be in a smaller class setting with consistent feedback between educators and parents where he would not be 'lost in the sea' of a very large 5th grade class. SMS offered exactly that. We also have another child who requires additional support through SPS but have successfully been able to navigate having our child attend SMS with services at the public school with the tremendous help and advocacy from SMS. There are teachers at SMS who are a shining light and will forever be a special memory in their primary school education.

Zero Stars: Not as advertised! The marketing department (yes, you read the correctly, they have…read moreone) provides a slick view of the school for outsiders. It hides the truth of a once-good school run into the ground by the new head of school. -- The School -- Poor implementation of Dr. Montessori's methods and values! Student enrollment is down because parents are finding safe places for their children away from this crumbling nightmare and it's awful new-ish head of school! No 3-hour uninterrupted work cycles as Dr. Montessori required for kids: students are constantly rushed to a variety of specialists / "essentialists" throughout the day. The school needs all these photo ops to keep up the façade that this is still a good school. -- School Leadership -- The head of school is a bully who closely monitors the social media accounts of staff members and former employees. She reports legitimate reviews to get them removed so you can't see her failures as a head of school. This is my second review of Riverbend School here on Yelp because of this. (Hi, BH! Glad to know you're reading my reviews!) She has also bullied a former staff member to delete a perfectly normal post on social media this past spring 2026 (that was not negative) simply because she doesn't like that person. Her cruelty and vindictiveness was especially evident in her termination of the long-term and beloved physical education teacher. She waited until the last day of school, at the end of the family luncheon and celebration, to let him go via a conversation in the parking lot. (She is also amazingly unprofessional.) The timing was carefully planned so that kids could not say goodbye and so that parents would not have any direct contact with the PE teacher. He had reported her mismanagement of school funds to the board and exposed her filtering of communication between staff and board members to only pass along positive feedback on her behavior. A recent example of this was her bizarre required staff feedback survey in June 2026 that asked staff if they agreed with the statement, "I feel safe voicing my opinions / concerns to the Head of School." We were required to provide our names (remember her vindictiveness) and she bundled the survey with book and t-shirt orders to boost staff response rates. In summary, the staff are exhausted by the head of school's terrible management and bullying. Many are staying because of their desire to work with the lovely kids and kind families still there. However, more and more families are seeing the truth about her and the direction of the school and finding better alternatives. They are finding true Montessori schools where staff, students, families, and board members are all treated with the care and respect Dr. Montessori envisioned.

Children's Happy Day School is possibly the best preschool in the Boston area. They offer a…read moreterrific curriculum, and the head of the school, Ms. Helen, provides hands on guidance and support to children, parents, teachers and families. Founded in 1987, CHDS has a tremendous history of educating young people. The building the program is housed in was built specifically for use as a preschool, and the classrooms are bright and sunny. Their prices are less than other West Roxbury preschools, and they are walking distance from Millenium Park.
