Having a straight-A student is nice.Having a star on the team is cool. But, man, having a respectful kid is such a FLEX. As parents we need to focus most on raising kids who are teachable, coachable, and respectful. I believe LP is not setting them up to do this. The focus is around money, status and being the top of the top, academically and financially. They are catering to the families who are feeding them money. Fundraisers that allow students who donate thousands of dollars extra privileges. Fields trips that are lavish that are not attainable for the average middle class family. The environment in the school is focusing on the wrong things.

Teachers are typically very quick to respond to emails as well which is appreciated. School runs VPK through 5th grade. Located within the Calusa Trace neighborhood. Like with any school we have our complaints about minor things such as better communication. There have been improvements since we started going here. I've served on the PTA and the Board for a few years and cherish those times. The school doesn't do candy or gift wrap fundraisers like many others in the area, they are more focused on fitness and hold a yearly fun run to raise money for the school. This is difficult given it's hard to ask for money when people aren't getting anything tangible. But the school tends to do quite well. The carline runs smooth and fast for drop off and pickup. The back parent parking lot is very crappy -- it's Hillsborough County owned so understand the school has no control but they should look at asking the county to pave it. It's dirt and not even. When it rains the parking lot gets flooded. Not good for people to be walking through. If you're looking for a good elementary school for your child I do recommend Schwarzkopf.

When we purchased our new home, we moved school districts. Of course we were a bit nervous but in no time at all we felt right at home. The faculty is out of this world. They genuinely care about their students. When we drop our boys off each morning, everyone is smiling and taking the time to safely get the kids out of the car. My son's 2nd grade teacher is so kind, patient and full of life. The Extended Day VPK program is amazing and very affordable. Just make sure you get on the waiting list ASAP - it fills up fast! My son in VPK has also been doing speech therapy at Schwarzkopf. I've been moved to tears at the progress he's made in 6 short months. Seriously, the faculty here is straight out of a fairytale. I also love that the school is tucked back in Calusa Trace. It's away from all the busy roads and feels very safe. This is a uniform school but nothing too strict. Collared shirts and khakis or jeans. If it's cold, they can wear any jacket and they often host non uniform days for $1. They also do other fun things to keep the kids happy and engaged like spirit days, dress up like a 100 year old for the 100th day of school, PJ day. We are so happy to be a part of the Schwarzkopf family. I firmly believe God spent a little extra time on this school and the amazing people that fill the walls within it.

After reading four…read moreother reviews, very similar to mine, it's clear that this school has issues, borderline discriminatory, when it comes to children with special needs. They lack communication, professionalism and are extremely insensitive. If there are issues with your child that the school struggles with they will not communicate them to you until THEY have made the decision about your child's future. My biggest frustration is that leadership refuses to have the hard talks necessary. Instead, they just sweep it under the rug until they decide to make it go away. While I understand some children might not be a good fit for this school, that is no excuse for their overall lack of professionalism and communication.

The food choices are excellent and our child is very happy here and eager to attend class each and every day. Everyone greets our child by name (even the teachers in other classes) and our child feels valued and well cared for at the school. Each day our child amazes us with new words, facts and knowledge. Though as we all know, these are…read moreour opinions so the only way to know better than what we state, is to look into it for yourself. This is a great school, the principle (Mrs. French) is AMAZING-knows most all of the students by name, even the 6th graders. My child is a good girl-her average yearly GPA is a 3.9. I think that being separated from boys is a great idea because the girls can focus on their studies rather than on the boys (don't act like you can't relate, or did you forget how it is to be a teen with raging hormones?). In my opinion, they need to create an all girls high school as well-but the county won't, nor those parents who think their 2 cents is needed (if you don't support single gender schools and have no intentions of enrolling your child in one-keep your opinion to yourself-this obviously doesn't apply to you and we don't need your voice heard in regards to this matter). At any rate, the area does kinda suck but having a magnet school in the area is just a tactic to bring/clean up the surrounding neighborhood, or so I assume. The school is old, obviously not the employees faults but not filthy. I believe the maintenance/cleaning crew has won an award for 2 yrs in a row now for their team/performance. The curriculum is challenging-but maybe that's because my daughter is in all advanced courses-yes, every last one (yes-I am a proud mother, but I am sure you get that by all I've said thus far). I have no complaints of the staff. The teachers communicate well, and the office staff are courteous. The HOST program is great and the HOST staff...well I couldn't ask for better. My daughter has been on the school's soccer team and also in band and I'll be adding Golf Academy to the list for this upcoming school year. Overall, this has been an excellent experience. I drive 20 mins. out of my way (taking Expressway of course, and tack on another 15 mins. to get to my job), but it is worth it to me. We fully intend on finishing out her middle school experience at Ferrell. My daughter loves the school and if she loves it, then I love it too. But a lot of the girls love the school and make good grades (of course not all)-so that should speak for something! Oh-and they do have school dances where the boys from the all boys prep school (Franklin I believe) come to attend. The girls also play their sports right before the all boys prep so there's a chance to mingle there for a few...and also in the summer HOST program, it is co-ed. So see? Not JUST all girls-they so get some boy interaction, it's just not on a daily which is fine by me! Besides, most girls in this age group would rather be around girls...this is the age range where they start to blossom. Oh, this is an Apple certified school, so each girl is assigned an iPad to carry throughout the day. Check it out-only you can decide what you believe is best for your daughter. I only see benefits for mine. This is an A rated school. It is new, I believe only 3 yrs old, but trust me, your child can reap more benefits by attending this school than a co-ed or traditional school. Go see for yourself :) Oh, and this review is not up for debate. I'm not interested in hearing the confrontational parent who wants to argue single gender schools, this is just my review on my daughters school, that we so love.

So my daughter will be coming here for middle school this year but so far my first impressions have…read morebeen soooo positive. Both with staff and parents. I decided to join the PTSA board as I like to be involved as much as I can in my daughter's school. I did visit the school this past week to prepare 1st day breakfast for the teachers and it's so clean and organized. When I visited the other day, the staff was so friendly --- stopped what they were doing to help us w/the cart and unlock the cafeteria for us. Upon leaving, staff actually told me thank you for all you do! The parents that have been there for years, only say positive things about the school. I think the only complaint that I've heard was the car pickup and drop-off line can be quite long since they share the same road as Steinbrenner and McKitrick Elementary. I've actually never been to this school and had no idea where the heck it was located until the other day! Clear signage up around the parking area which I also love. My daughter can't wait to start!! I'll be sure to come back and update my review after we are actually there and have some more experience.
