As a non-EU foreigner, we have to provide a few extra materials for registration. As the surgery is open until 18:30, we thought going at 17:00 to register would be okay, but were told to come back another day before 16:30 because that's when the admin team leave work. Something to be aware of for people in the same situation as us. The reception staff are consistent - same pair works there daily. I've been in enough now to know they will either be really friendly or stressed out. I was assigned to Dr. Patel. I really really like her. She actively listens to me when I talk to her and does not diminish my symptoms or wave me off. It's been easy to get an appointment in a timely manner and the surgery offers a wide variety of services, which means patients don't have to go through so many referrals. If you're in the Sutton Coldfield/Wylde Green/Boldmere area, I'd recommend this GP.

However sadly I cannot recommend this surgery at all. It started changing during COVID which was standard for all surgeries I believe. But I've had such problems trying to see a doctor. Indeed I haven't seen a GP now for nearly 5 years. I've used 111 when I was desperate and on occasion gone to A&E which I don't really want to as they are stretched enough. My last telephone appointment resulted is the doctor emailing a leaflet to me as the solution to a problem that is still not resolved. I also understand that 4 Doctors have transferred to the Manor practice from here. Heaven knows how elderly people get on. It appears that the GPs are inaccessible.

As a patient at this practice for over 20 years (man and boy etc) and having heard some of the…read morehorror stories of friends experiences with doctors, I can say that I am more than happy with the treatment and service I receive at James Preston. The building itself houses two practices, Manor and Vesey. A lady who did some work there once told me that the receptionists for both practices, even though they sit behind the same counter, are very separate to the point of not just having separate stationery but having separate Christmas parties. Strange tribal behaviour aside, the doctors of the Vesey practice have, by and large, always been helpful and approachable. I won't go into details of my medical history but there are times when I've been helped in far more constructive ways than being thrown on medication or told to 'pull myself together' or any of that nonsense. The practice nurses are all lovely too should you need a spot of ear-syringing or the odd stitch removing. A doctors surgery isn't the sort of place you want to have to visit too often but if you ever have to, the Vesey Practice is a safe pair of hands to be in.

This happened recently, and it caused me to faint. Later I was told that the receptionist said "Oh he's done this before - I'm on ho,d on the phone". NONE of the staff came to see if I was OK, and apparently I was left lying on the reception floor for several minutes UNATTENDED. I'm sorry, but at what point is it a sackable offence to OPENLY show contempt for patients in front of other patients? Eventually when I regained consciousness, I managed to take a seat, and was treated AS USUAL with care consideration and understanding by one of the doctors! Would they have ignored me if a woman had a panic attack? Sorry but in MY view, this is GROSS MISCONDUCT. I've seen some callous medical receptionists before, but this one was OPENLY HOSTILE. Hardly the face of the caring NHS!

Dr Jennings and Dr Paul are lovely and the receptionists are really rather nice as Doctors receptionists go! Its hard to get an appointment in advance but they save extras each day, so if you call before 9am you can usually get in that day. They also offer telephone consultation which is helpful if you are really ill or cant drive. Its got a decent car park so its easy to access. 10 / 10!

On arrival you are greeted by the lovely receptionists. I have met Donna and Fiona both of which made me feel at ease straight away and also Monty is adorable! You feel relaxed very quickly. Well... after visiting now for 4 treatment sessions I have a new respect and understanding for my body and how it works. I see Jeremy who is extremely skilled at pinpointing what I would term "pain epicentres" managing to understand my rambled attempts at explaining where I feel the pain is coming from, then he is able through palpation, to find the exact trigger point. After living with knee pain since childhood, to finally understand where the pain is actually coming from ( Jeremy explained a misformation of my hip) this was clarity for the first time in my life regarding this issue, of which doctors had previously misdiagnosed. Tantamount to this I've received treatment by way of deep massage and manipulation for TMJ disorder and ongoing neck pain, as well as, calf and ankle treatment down to my toes! Ask plenty of questions when you visit you get many answers as to how your individual anatomy works and advice on the effects of stress, emotions, sleep patterns and even how the way we breathe effects our daily life! Treatment and instruction on at home daily exercises and breathing techniques has improved my overall health tremendously, I have recommended many friends and family to Solihull Osteopathic Practice of which many have booked appointments for their complaints. I'm still 50/50 about brown looking after my whites…read more This dentist is right by front door and I didn't realise for about a year that it accepts NHS patients. From the outside, it looks very much like a private dentist, with very little to give away what it does (unless you count the teeth stickers on the window). There's certainly no big blue NHS sign to help guide you. I've only been to this dentist once and I was very impressed by the dentist himself. He was friendly, straightforward and seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. I also got the feeling that he wanted to sort my toothache out in the best way rather than the most expensive way (he told me that the £500 worth of work my previoius dentist had recommended I have would be ineffectual). What I found a little odd was that he was most insistent that I give my mobile number to the receptionist again after the appointment and make sure it was taken down correctly. I was then told I'd be rung with the results of an X-ray I had a few days later. No-one has ever rung. They also close for lunch, which is a nice and relaxed way of doing things. Perhaps I'll report back when (as I know will happen) I find myself in terrible pain and need to go back.
