The interior of the train was impressively clean--seriously, spotless--and well-ventilated, making the ride comfortable from start to finish. The conductors were friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience. The children particularly enjoyed the ride, making it a memorable family outing. I got to try out their smartcar and Mercedes GLA. I had trouble figuring out how to start the ignition on the smartcar, so I contacted their support line and was able to get help from a customer representative immediately. The daily rental can get a little expensive. The daily rental for the smartcar cost $69. I believe it's advertised as $59 on the Austin car2go site, but that price doesn't include taxes and fees. The daily rental for the GLA came out to $92. It's advertised as $79 on the site. Over all, car2go made my trip to Austin more enjoyable. I was able to drive out of the city to hike and zipline. However, I'm docking a star off because of their lack of transparency about prices.

Arrived in Austin within 3ish hours. The sucky thing is the seats are really small. You are cramped up. The charging stations at each seat is just a plug. No USB charging here. The free wifi sucks as well. The good thing is if the bus isn't full you can move to another seat. Our first bus driver was a chatty Kathy, but I had earpods in and watched nexflix on my phone. Our driver on the way home gave a Sunday sermon before we left Austin and it was awkward. All in all. Put your earbuds in and sit back, relax (if there's room) and let someone else take the stress out of your drive to and from Austin. The drive goes by so fast. PS - looking at the photos - we did not get a double decker bus to or from Austin.

You can check in with the people inside the center by showing your ticket. It is always better to arrive early than late because the buses usually leave on time. I like how there is a waiting area. There are also restrooms. (There are restrooms on the bus too and they're usually clean). Most of the time, there is no Wi-Fi on the Megabus even though they do say they have it. Sometimes the outlets don't work so you should fully charge what you need. It is a good way for an inexpensive longer ride. They can be as low as $1 if you get them early. You do have to ride with strangers though.

My daughter accidentally left her phone on one of the buses on August 22, 2026,my daughter reached out to the business several times, they acknowledged they had her phone, but afterwards she couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. Here we are August 25, 2026 and still could not get an answer. I called left a message, then called back finally Brandon answers. Right from the beginning he has a nasty attitude. I told him I really didn't want to have to get the police involved his response was," call the police, im not scared of them, they know me very well, its not my fault your daughter lost her phone." Isaid, " well Brandon what can we do to resolve this issue?" He said," I'll have to see if i can get someone to look for her phone, I'm not sure if its in lost and found or not, I'll call you back" Not once did I blame him for her mistake, but also if you know you have her property why make it difficult for her to get it back. I instructed my daughter to file a police report, the officer called Brandon and left a message, magically Brandon was able to get to the property, retrieve her phone and leave it with Dean at the uhaul office so my daughter could pick up her property. Definitely will be sure to never patronize this business ever!!
