Mike was great. He went above and beyond my expectations. Easy to get ahold of, quick turnaround, and great result.

We didn't act right away, but kept the business card. A month or so later, we headed out to the nursery in Rutland. It was in the country & set back off the road, so at first we thought we might be in the wrong place. We found the parking lot & then bumped into Joe. We showed him pictures of our house and let him know what we wanted done. He gave us a tour of the nursery, and was at our home within a week to give us recommendations & a design plan. I know not a thing about plants, I often kill them just by looking at them. We had to put our trust in his knowledge & insight. The old trees & shrubs were pulled out using caution not to destroy our stone wall or foundation. The workers were polite, efficient, and respectful of our property. The new plantings went in at least 7 days earlier than promised. The result? Couldn't be happier. It's been about 2 months now, and I haven't killed the plants yet. Even still, I'm glad they come with a guarantee!

Joe provided free delivery at a time convenient to me. These have now been planted over a year and are doing great. Joe provides other services as well, but I go for the plants. The plants he offers are not cheap, but are high quality, and are grown locally in Rutland. I would prefer if Joe accepted credit cards, but I understand that it's additional overhead.

Rutland Nurseries Inc. your customer service with this potential customer, after my appt & eventual…read morequote, is appalling! 1. Matt stated I should have the quote in 1-2wks via email. I waited until the end of the 2nd week before I left 2-3 phone messages on the business line. Then since no one saw fit to return my calls, I submitted a review on either their FB page, website or Google (now low & behold it's nowhere to be seen)...so that's when Matt called me. He claimed he already had the quote ready when I called & wanted to know if I still wanted it. I told him yes & reconfirmed my email address, yet it still took him another week to send it...so that's 4wks from the appt date. 2. I replied with questions & to clarify what we discussed in person. As of today, 3wks later, there's still no response...that's 7.5wks from the appt date. According to Matt, some of the work could be separately. Why waste my time & yours? If you're picky with whose property you want to work on, you could've/should've google searched my property & then gave me whatever excuse not to come look at it. Especially, if my already developed 0.9acre lot (not doing work on all of that) quoted at $33,632.30 wasn't a big enough job! Or did you see a certain reason precluding your company from taking on this job? Either way, that's your loss not mine. As I told Matt, this is the other side of trying to help small businesses.

Rutland Nurseries puts on a nice display at the Flower Show in Boston. As far as I can tell…read moreputting on a show is all they do. We called them for an estimate. We were looking to extend an outdoor patio, and see what they could do with our back lawn which needs a serious overhaul. A young guy did come out to talk with us, he took some measurements and promised an estimate by the end of the week. So far, so good. Ten days passed with no response. My wife called and the lady that answered said she'd get that out to us. Another week has gone by without a word. I assume this isn't about basic competence, but rather the job didn't involve bringing in lots of heavy equipment followed by ten's of thousands of dollars in invoices. Rather than simply saying our job wasn't big enough (~8K was the estimate we received from another Nursery), they took the weasel way out and decided to simply ignore us. Their true character shines through here, so even if you do have a very large job I'd tread carefully. I wouldn't do business with a company like this.
