However, after having hip and back pain for 6 months, when a friend told me he's seen Dr Steve for years I thought I might take a chance. Dr Steve is a very kind man, I told him how nervous I was and he talked WITH me, not at me, explaining everything which was going to happen. I have to tell you even more honestly, when we got to the adjustment part, it was NOTHING like all those crazy things you hear about! As a matter of fact, I thought to myself- I don't really see how this is going to help, it doesn't seem like he's doing much? After a few moments he told me we were done for today and I could get up. When I stood up and took a few steps I was in disbelief at how different I felt! It was like I fit into my body better and everything I had been feeling the last 6 months was gone. He measured how my head was laying, using tools, & explained why what he does works & if I am a good candidate for his work. Let's also talk about how he uses a dry erase board & draws pictures of your spine & muscle, and lists out all the issues you are having, while giving you a lesson on what & how he does it. It's like a mini class, very cool touch! I had a lot of adhesions in my neck, that he got out. Really deep massage with direction and a great touch. He took treatment slow and asked me, if I would like more (yes!). He works and focuses on one area, and worked on my neck without making my body crack. The entire time he worked on me he seemed like he had a lot of work to do, and didn't want do too, too much. If you are afraid of having a massage that's too deep, he really takes his work in different levels to make sure you are a good candidate. I have to also add, the assistant Naomi was so professional. I believe my primary doctor recommended me to Dr. Cox, and if I'm remembering correctly Dr. Cox is the one who referred me to a great lawyer, which worked out really well. I only saw Dr. Dan (Cox) during the first initial appointment back in 2012 and have been seeing various other doctors since then. You can request who you'd like to see, I'm just not that kind of person, and quite honestly, I've had a great experience with each and every single doctor here. I've made the mistake in not continuing my treatment when I'm feeling "good," and now after seeing Dr. Franco and Dr. Tom there recently I'm understanding more and more the importance of my neck and back "maintenance". In my situation, this is something I'll have to live with forever, but as long as I keep up with my appointments (down to once a month currently) I won't really be in much pain. When I stopped going for 6+ months, I would be in severe pain and would have to go 2-3 times a week at first just to get on the right track again. They will recommend that you get X-rays done (of course depending on your situation) before doing anything, which I love. The ladies at the front desk are usually the most pleasant and friendly people I've ever seen at a doctors office. Not only do you not usually have to wait long at all (10 min max for me, but I usually walk right back when I get there) but if you need a last minute appointment they can usually get you in the day of! I keep telling myself I'm going to try a chiropractor a block from my house since Clarence / Williamsville is so far for me, and hard to fit in my schedule, but they are really that great and I just can't fathom going anywhere else!

Previous to living in Belmont shore I went to another chiropractor in my hometown of Corona. At that place they were all about volume. Get you in and out in under 10 minutes so they could see the next person. That is all that they cared about. Dr. Spiess has a different approach. He doesn't monitor his Yelp reviews or ask you to leave feedback. Truth is, he doesn't really care how the internet perceives things. He knows that by word of mouth, he will gain new patients. I got lucky and found him under my providers list for Chiropractic care. From the first appointment forward, I knew he cared. I had really good insurance which covered the 30 minute appointment. Even if you don't have insurance that will cover it, seeing him once a month for the cash amount is completely worth it. I walked out every time feeling way better, and cannot state how much I love this man for getting me straightened out.

Not a "pop and go" adjustment, like some do. You don't need to see him 3 times a week for 12 weeks like other chiropractors will tell you. His adjustments are very effective and seem to stay in place longer. If you have pain or health issues, go see him.
