Previous to living in Belmont shore I went to another chiropractor in my hometown of Corona. At that place they were all about volume. Get you in and out in under 10 minutes so they could see the next person. That is all that they cared about. Dr. Spiess has a different approach. He doesn't monitor his Yelp reviews or ask you to leave feedback. Truth is, he doesn't really care how the internet perceives things. He knows that by word of mouth, he will gain new patients. I got lucky and found him under my providers list for Chiropractic care. From the first appointment forward, I knew he cared. I had really good insurance which covered the 30 minute appointment. Even if you don't have insurance that will cover it, seeing him once a month for the cash amount is completely worth it. I walked out every time feeling way better, and cannot state how much I love this man for getting me straightened out.

Not a "pop and go" adjustment, like some do. You don't need to see him 3 times a week for 12 weeks like other chiropractors will tell you. His adjustments are very effective and seem to stay in place longer. If you have pain or health issues, go see him. I'm an Acupuncturist and I love Eastern Medicine, but Dr Spiess is the only Chiropractor I'll let adjust me. I have complete confidence in his work. Thanks Dr Spiess.

I wanted to make sure the crack was good before sending you there. THE CRACK. IS GOOD. (Not literal crack, obviously. That's a chiropractor "dad joke," and in case you're rolling your eyes at me, I don't care because my dad would have thought I'm brilliant!) On the off-chance you have read my previous review for a different chiropractor in Snyder, let me reassure you that I still think he's pretty awesome, but I moved to Hamburg a year ago and it was getting to be ridiculous driving that far for some good spinal manipulation of my subluxation. Dr. Hoy does some advertising on Facebook, which is where I first saw his ad, and if you can't trust Facebook, who can you trust? (Yelp would not load my sarcasm font.) However, I did some research and it turns out, he knows a thing or two about this chiropractic stuff. So, I booked my appointment, went in for my first visit and then my second and my third, and so on. (And I STILL haven't asked him if his childhood nickname was Chip. Honestly, his parents missed a golden opportunity to name him Chip Andrew Hoy. I mean, Chip A. Hoy! (My dad is laughing in heaven, I swear.) On to the meat of the review ... I couldn't BEEE (nod to Chandler Bing) any happier. My pain level was greatly reduced after my first visit with Dr. Hoy. I went in the first time with neck, back, and hip pain. The hip pain has not returned. The back pain has been minimal, but my neck, while better, still causes me some issues. It's honestly no surprise after seeing the x-ray. (Side note: He offers x-ray in his office, which is so convenient so he can see what's going on with your body without having to send you off elsewhere.) With this whole "my neck still hurts, Doc" thing going on, Dr Hoy recently changed things up with my neck adjustment. It was not responding well on one side, so he started to manipulate that side FIRST and holy cow, did that make a difference! My neck has felt so much better in between appointments! He has great intuition, fantastic communication, and an excellent staff. His hours are really great, too! Dr Hoy offers other services in his clinic, as well, and is great about sharing with you what they are without being pushy or too assertive, making you feel like you are being forced into add-ons. I love knowing all my options without being made to feel like it's an upsell every time I walk in. (Some of those additional services include acupuncture & cold laser therapy.) As of May 2024, I'm pretty sure he's still running ads on Facebook with some savings for first-time patients. If you're not on Facebook, just mention it when you book your appointment and I'm sure they'll give you the same deal.

I mean, why else could I not turn my head even a little? He didn't make fun of my irrational thoughts, and after my first visit, I could turn my head and actually check my blind spots while driving! A separate issue was plaguing my legs, so I had to see an orthopedic surgeon. I tested positive for chronic exertional compartment syndrome, but before signing up the invasive surgery, the ortho sent me to a physiatrist. The physiatrist sent me for an MRI of my lower back. His office called me a week later to tell me I had a deteriorated disc, and that I could have a pain shot if I needed one. I didn't. I told Dr. Stack what they said, and he asked if he could see the MRI. I brought him a copy, and he read it to me with me in his office. He explained the seriousness of my condition and suggested I see an orthopedic surgeon he knew of who was also a chiropractor. The point of all this is to say, the physiatrist himself did not call me. His office did not explain the issues with my back. Dr, Stack, however, took the time to read it to me and explain what was going on. He's done that more than once. He is genuinely concerned about his patients' overall health and well-being. Good luck finding any kind of doctor anywhere else who is so dedicated to his patients and his practice. I've also brought my mom and my daughter to see Dr. Stack, and I'd never hesitate to recommend him to anyone else either.

The most important quality that Dr. Stack has is his true care for patients. In previous offices, practitioners performed the same adjustments at every visit, which is what initially drove me to look for a new doctor. After several visits with a well known treatment center, I still felt horrible and was being charged hundreds of dollars for a 20-minute, repetitive, robotic adjustment. Dr. Stack, instead, assesses the needs of every patient to determine the right adjustments; each visit is based on what you've identified as a concern and what he finds during his assessments. Sometimes treatments can last 15 minutes or even up to 25 - but time is not the driver of his care as one usually experiences with doctors who take insurance. How you feel and how your body responds to the adjustments is what determines the time he takes with you and the frequency of your visits. He is also very good at listening to your concerns, answering questions, and making sure you understand what he's doing and why. Besides his deep knowledge of chiropractic care, he is also well-versed regarding overall health and can advise patients on vitamins, supplements and other more natural alternatives for just about any ailment. And if he doesn't know, he'll do the research. He is open and honest about healthcare in general, but also respects that patients have choices in their own care. Many times I've been recommended a procedure, test or pharmaceutical from one doctor and have spoken to him as a gut check. For example, I had to take a strong antibiotic for a kidney infection a few years ago, and he recommended pairing a specific probiotic so as not to upset my gastrointestinal balance. It worked and I'm still taking it! As recently as a week ago, I suffered a severe, 2-day, intensely painful migraine. After receiving an IV injection, I phoned him to see if he could squeeze me in. I barely finished my sentence before he nicely said, "Get here as soon as you can and we'll figure it out." I walked in without an appointment, was taken to one of the treatment rooms, given a pillow and ice pack and just waited for him to finish with his other patient. I've worked with a fair amount of doctors since living in WNY and Dr. Stack by far delivers some of the best and most sincere care in comparison to other doctors. He works hard to continue learning and expanding his knowledge in the field, is open to sharing his treatment plans, how to talk with your other specialists about integrated approaches to treatment, and overall making sure you are living well. He uses data and measurements to inform his treatment. He also will tell you almost exactly the amount of treatment time it will take, so you won't be a going weekly for 30 years. He also listens very carefully to what you are describing, no matter how poorly you're describing it, and manages to go right for the spot. He knows. I'm living with a neck issue now that before Dr. Zelasko ranged every day from stiffness to debilitating pain. I'll always have the issue, but since Dr. Zelasko, I'm pain free.
