I live in Germany with my wife and 3 lovely daughters, and work in England. I came to live at Carylls in May of this year, left in August, came back in September and left in December. I have been and gone, been and gone and will definitely come back in January 2014 when I am back to work in the area. I like the place, the staff and the facilities. Its a nice place, much better than a hotel. I am able to cook my meals every day; on my day off, I can get up when I like and go to the kitchen to prepare my breakfast when it suits me. During the summer months, I invited my friends to have a barbeque with me on the lawn almost every evening. Lovely spacious rooms, quite place and nice gardens. read more

The broadband is NOT fast, it is in fact the opposite - they claim it is "complimentary" for that very reason, as it's out in the country and not easily serviceable or fixed. And NOT all-inclusive. It is self-catering and you have to pay your own electricity meter in the apartment. I would NOT recommend this place for people on business for that reason alone - the wifi wouldn't even connect to my computer properly. Whilst we were grateful for a place to put our head down whilst between properties, and the lovely gardens that our children could run around in, I was told to please keep them quiet as other guests were sleeping. At 10am. On a Tuesday. Really?? So not exactly a family-friendly home from home. At £465 per week I expected more - perhaps a bath, instead of a tiny cubicle to wash two small children in. Michael was very pleasant to deal with, and is an asset to the place, perhaps their saving grace. One particular member of staff was incredibly rude - implying that I lied about washing the laundry, so charged me without discussing, when in fact we'd used our own linen. The email I sent back stating this is STILL being ignored. You'd think having paid 7 weeks at that rate I would be entitled to a bit more respect. That is my reason for only 2 stars. read more

Awful place - very old and very very tired. In particular the bed linen and towels are awful - they should be thrown away. Nothing matches. Much better places to stay at the same price. Carylls is over priced and certainly not worth the money. One good thing about it - the garden. Otherwise stay here at your peril. read more

Rooms are poor quality, terrible even. They are not refurbished. Waste of money stick with a chain hotel for the same price. You can actually fit in their bog's. read more

Beautiful building with lovely helpful staff who make you feel very welcome. It is obvious that some work has gone into the updating and upgrading of this building and it is very comfortable and clean. It is very secure and quiet and you have the lovely grounds to walk in to help clear your head at the end of a busy day. As these are self contained apartments or rooms, staff are not available 24/7, however, they are contactable via email or text and are quick to respond to any messages. Currently need somewhere to stay between properties and this is perfect. It is clean and well presented. I will be happy staying here for the foreseeable future. read more

We are on holiday from Wales and needed a place to stay for one week. We like staying in the country. Carylls is very near towns and motorway. The apartment has everything so we can do our own cooking as well as eating out. The garden is lovely and it very peaceful and quiet. read more

Four of us stayed at Carylls Country House between April and June 2014. We were in one of the recently created 2 bedroom apartments, overlooking the gardens. The bedding was a little dated but as we were staying for such a long time due to the build of our new house, we were able to bring our own bedding and some furniture that couldn't go in to storage. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Free wifi although slow at times. Plenty of off road parking. read more

Specialties
Fastlet.com / Carylls Country House is not a hotel, Bed & Breakfast or Guest House. We offer you weekly instant let apartments and en-suite rooms. Recognising that there is an ever increasing need for affordable immediate occupancy dwellings, we innovated the instant let "Move-In-Today" concept, offering fully furnished En-Suite rooms, one & two apartments within a Country House setting on a flexible letting basis without any restrictive contracts or tie-ins. We are the centre point for CEO's, individuals & contractors working far away from home, families in between houses in need of flexible instant let accommodation. Hotels are far too expensive and "temporary" to live-in for weeks on end. Living in one room in the sterile environment of a hotel is a must only, if you have no choice. We are located in Faygate, 3 miles from Crawley & Horsham and 6 from Gatwick. All bills are included in the weekly charge with free Wifi. Dogs are welcome too. No deposit needed. Move in today.

My husband and I stayed at Carylls Country House as we had sold our house, but were unable to move in to our new home for several weeks. The flexibility in terms of staying as long as you like and only having to give one week's notice made it an ideal choice. We were very relieved when we arrived into our one bedroom apartment to find it recently refurbished to a very nice standard. It is very clean and spacious with an extra storage room. The shower was not very hot to begin with so Michael sorted out a plumber who fixed it and now it is good and hot. There was also a problem with a light shining into the bedroom on the first night, but Dave fixed that straight away the next morning. Everyone is very helpful and accommodating. A major plus is having my small dog be able to stay with us. The grounds are very pretty, and the fields and woods across the road are perfect for longer walks. The broadband is very quick, we thought it was fibre optic! The location is rural and quiet, yet very near the M23 and A24. Horsham is the nearest town, with good services available. We would certainly recommend Carylls Country House, particularly for someone in a similar situation. The House is being completely renovated but there has been very little disturbance. I imagine it will improve even more in the near future. read more

Staying at Carylls Country House is truly a pleasure. The rooms are comfortable and all en-suite, with fridges and microwaves, which is very convenient. The house itself is stunning with lots of history and original features. The staff are fantastic and really help make your stay at Carylls a pleasant one. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and truly go out of their way to help. Michael the manager is super efficient, Neil and Dave along with the others are incredibly helpful and work so hard. Peter is a lovely chap and helps with the cleaning. One of Carylls most wonderful assets is the grounds in which it is kept. Beautiful, green, open land, of some acres, which is stunning to behold and kept to the most exacting standards. The groundsmen really come into their own here. The lawn is spacious and a joy to sit out or gaze upon, year round. Location wise, Carylls ticks all the boxes too. It is near two local villages and plenty of shops. It has a train station, and Gatwick is 20 minutes away. Carylls has been a home to me. Thanks to the great effort the staff put in, and the attention to detail, I have been very happy here. I don't hesitate to recommend Carylls as the perfect place to stay. A charming house, in beautiful grounds, with attentive staff and a lovely housecat, Ginger perfect! read more

I will definitely come back to Carylls Country House I needed temporary accommodation in the UK whilst I sort out my affairs. I found Carylls Country House short let accommodation on the internet and it ticked all the boxes, especially as I could not commit to an exact time or short or long term contracts with a landlord. Carylls easy short-let, week by week was just right for me. It is a beautiful place with 5 acres of landscape gardens always kept to a good standard. Dave who does onsite maintenance is always very helpful. Michael, Heather and Dave sorted out all my needs making my stay at Carylls very pleasant. Carylls is safe and secure; certainly better than being in a hotel room for 7 weeks. I definitely recommend Carylls Country House. We have had happy times there. We have left some of our personal possessions behind for safe keeping as we are definitely coming back in January. Jake U. Stayed in October read more

We stayed at Carylls for a weekend away. The journey was an easy one by train into London then a connection from Victoria to Faygate station. We were made welcome by Michael the Manager and Jan his wife. Our room was clean and well equipped, with ensuite and a kitchenette furnished with crockery, cutlery, sink, microwave and fridge. Towels and linen were provided, as was a welcome pack of tea, milk, &c. Furniture was suitable for long or short stay, including a TV and free broadband. The rooms had not long been refurbished. There were also equipped communal kitchens for more adventurous cooking, and a launderette. Our room overlooked the magnificent gardens. There was free car parking for those who needed it. There is a lot to see and visit round and about, and pubs and restaurants for those who do not wish to cook. We had a good time. P&DH read more

hahaha at least youve learned to make self reviews look more genuine! (google" brown book carylls"!)This place is a musty smelling dump, and ask the owner how long a week stay is, to him its 7 days (6 nights!) does that mean if i book one day i cant sleep there! plus points are the other staff there are really friendly, grounds are great, location is ok ish from horsham. downside is it stinks (quote from what is clearly a self review If iIwas to have any criticism it would be that the corridors smelled a bit of cleaning products but that was no big deal really), rooms are grotty, fridge in room was noisy, mouldy in shower etc, etc, etc. If you think you want to stay here then book elsewhere too, go and see the room BEFORE you pay anything, guarantee you will end up in the other accomodation you booked! read more

I spent one night at Carylls Guest House because I couldn't find a cheap bed and breakfast near Gatwick Airport. It turned out to be one of the best finds I have ever made on my travels! Great prices (even for a one-night stay) and immaculate rooms - what to speak of the friendly service (from both Peter and Michael). I don't know what the other reviewer was on about with the towels - I found the facilities (yes even the towels) to be first class. If iIwas to have any criticism it would be that the corridors smelled a bit of cleaning products - but that was no big deal really (at least I knew it was clean!) I plan to stay there every time I need to be handy to Gatwick - in fact I might even try and add a day to the beginning of my trip just to stay there! read more

I have been a regular stayer at Carylls since 2013 and I would not consider staying anywhere else. I live in Germany and my company sends me to work in Sussex several times a year. I enjoy staying at Carylls because it is very quiet and private. I have always had everything I needed for my stay in the room and did not need to worry about takeaways. I don´t hear my neighbours which is important when I have to work from home. There is 24 hour access to the internet and I can keep in touch with my family and friends in Germany. I enjoy living in the countryside although it doesn´t take me long to get to work at Weybridge. Michael and the staff are very helpful and always pleasant to deal with. When need something I get it immediately. Carylls is really my second home. read more

Jason Carter - Friday 16th September 2016 Myself and my family have been staying in Boleyn apartment 3, whilst waiting for our house to be exchanged after finding out about Fastlet.com / Carylls Country House on the internet. We have found all the facilities on offer 'great', especially having 24 hours broadband available, which has been excellent. We have dealt with Michael who has been very helpful. Having your own accommodation and your own kitchen to do your own cooking has been a big help and 'no up front deposit' has been most helpful in our situation. We would definitely recommend Carylls Country House to our friends. read more

An absolute pleasure to stay at such a beautiful house, the apartments were well equipped, clean and very well decorated. We have been having lots of work done to our home and needed somewhere to accommodate the whole family and pets. Carylls did this perfectly, they were understanding of our needs, only to pleased to help make our stay right for us. the staff where friendly and welcoming. beautiful walks beautiful location.. very reasonably priced compared to all the hotels we spoke to, but the best thing was that they were willing to cater for our needs. I would go back at a heartbeat. Highly recommended ... read more
