Patio Elegance at Real San Pedro…read more Real San Pedro in Tlaquepaque is more than a restaurant--it's an institution. The courtyard, cooled by Guadalajara's air and framed by open doors and windows, feels open yet welcoming. Inside, the walls are dotted with striking art, unique decorations, and large windows that pull every room back toward the heart of the patio. On Saturday afternoons, a live band plays gently in the background, giving the whole place a festive but unhurried rhythm. We started with sparkling water mixed with the traditional suero of salt and lemon--simple, refreshing, and perfectly suited to the warm afternoon. Guacamole came fresh, framed by crisp corn chips along the edges of the plate. The real star was the corn tortillas, served piping hot in an embroidered sack made just for the restaurant. Soft, fragrant, and full of flavor, they were so good we ordered a second round without hesitation. Service was attentive, though at moments it felt a little rushed. For mains, we ordered two classics. The Chile en Nogada arrived with a thick sauce made from evaporated milk, sugar, cream cheese, almonds, cinnamon, and even canned peach juice. The result was overwhelmingly sweet, drowning out the other elements like the meat and pomegranate. The Carne en su Jugo, described as meat with vegetables, came instead as a brothy, spicy soup. While not what we expected, it was hearty, comforting, and deeply flavorful. Real San Pedro draws many Mexican visitors, and it's clear why. With its mix of tradition, atmosphere, and lively energy, it's the kind of place that invites you to slow down, eat well, and soak it all in. #RealSanPedro #SaboresDeGuadalajara #Tlaquepaque

I walked in and the only thing I felt was their face looking and staring at me , I did not feel welcome, it was not just one person but the 6 ppl that were sitting in two tables. I could not believe that in Mexico I would ever feel unwelcome just bc of the color of my skin. With tears in my eyes I walk out bc the ppl there were very obvious and just with their nasty stares kick me out of a restaurant. Never in my life have I experienced this kind of situation.

A hidden gem, more like a hidden diamond!…read more The Food: This place serves entres and tapas. The food here is all made through the Hacienda (locally) and cooked up by the family who lives there. First, we got drinks, some beers and micheladas. They offer a small variety of bottled beers, unfortunately no draught beer. They also have a small selection of spirits. They also have aguas and other drinks like soda. The first round of appetizers was fruit. It was already cut and they serve it in plates. Then some tapas, like pork stuffed gorditas and shrimp quesadillas. Then hand made tortillas with spanish rice and pinto beans. The came the frog legs which are sauteed in a lot of garlic! They were pretty good... it does taste like chicken but the portion is tiny. For entree, I go a fried fish, other people got a steak, they were all pretty good. The Location: The reason people come here is because of the location! Its over look the valley and its freaking gorgeous. Beautiful place for a date or to take some family members for a nice Saturday lunch. Kids are welcome but it can be a hassle because this place isn't too big, you might find yourself feeling embarrassed. Getting to the location wasn't too easy, luckily someone already knew how to get here. Parking is OK, but an SUV is recommended since most of the drive if on cobble stone. The Service: Was really good! They treated us like family! They served us well and provided food in a timely manner.
