I stayed at Casa Azul in the "Nido" apartment from Jan 8, 2018 until Feb 3, 2018 and fell in love. I lived in Zihuatanejo for several years in the late 80s, so am familiar with the town, even though it has changed and modernized quite a bit. It still has my heart though.
Casa Azul has three apartments and I stayed in the smallest one, which was a studio. It was perfect and I even had a friend stay as well and we were never in each other's way. The place is open air on the patio and then covered over the living area, but the entire place is basically open air. It has a double bed, bathroom with open shower and lots of hot water, efficient kitchen with a two-burner gas cooktop, fridge, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender and 5 gallon water bottle. There is a small hanging space for clothing, with a small safe below. There are large bookshelves and a small dresser. A hammock is there and very easy to hang for use.
There are many nature sounds along with the crashing waves at night. A view to the ocean from the terrace is ideal. The location is perfect and close to many great restaurants on the street below, and a walkable distance to town. La Ropa Beach is a longish walk, but there are many taxis available at the bottom of the street.
I highly recommend Casa Azul for your Zihuatanejo vacation in paradise. Carmen, the house manager, is a jewel and will be helpful with anything you need. read more
