This is maybe my 15th(?) stay at Casa Sirena, and it is always the recharge that my battery needs. Covid testing is very handy around the corner from the hotel. We are all vaccinated, but we never felt that people were being anything but extremely careful all around the island. Love you, Steve, and hope to see you again soon...with or without the boys!

Each evening (except Sundays) ends with a rooftop happy hour hosted by the ever charming owner, Steve. Always fun to meet the other guests while enjoying a margarita and that evenings entertainment (usually a talented local musician, but Fridays are a super cool magician- really!) The rooms are cute and comfortable, with personal espresso machines and a cold beer in the fridge. Can't say enough great things about Casa Sirena- stay once and you'll never go anywhere else!

We did NOT encounter rude/inattentive servers, but quite the opposite! We were greated by a hostess who showed us around to some available seats for us to choose from and we were quickly served 2 ICE COLD beers...literally ice cold with ice floating in necks! Didn't get to try any mixed DRINKS as we were meeting our party at another restaurant but the menu looked amazing with a good selection of cocktails. I definitely recommend a stop in to this gem of a bar! It is adults only so no kids. Nice setup, cold beer, and clean unique bathroom

Our room was clean and bathroom too. I could totally come back and stay in Puerto Morelos in the future. It's more of a sleepy beach town in comparison to the more developed cities nearby. It is a beautifully manicured place with some rooms, some cabins... and a delicious, like 3 course breakfast. First some kind of bread or toast item, then fruit and yogurt, then like chciken fajitas and beans with flour tortillas that seemed homemade, or maybe a delicious fresh tostada. The breakfasts change and they even asked if we were able to eat different foods - really the family is so beautiful and considerate and calm. honestly it is perfect. We had a delightful cabin with two double beds, a tv, a/c a kitchen, dining table, bathroom and furniture. It was great. It had a rustic aspect, and a rustic thing happened lol. Even though i would not exactly call an apartment with electricity and cable rustic... it is in a certain way. I just can't bring myself to say what lol. I would describe the hotel as "one lot back" from the beach. the location is excellent and in a way... it is on the beach because of te extense of the beach, but there is another building between the sea and the Amar Inn so it is not oceanfront... though some rooms probably have sea view depending on how they are situated. But there is a little road to the beach. Perfect. Puerto morelos is a quiet relaxing town. We are too old for playa del carmen. We love to just chill here. There are some great relaxing restaurants on the sea.... once you are hungry after eating an insanely huge brekfast. Thanks Amar Inn - Do your thing! We will never forget you!

The town is safe, friendly, and full of things to do. Paul and Beate's bed and breakfast is like home away from home with people who really care about you. They know a lot about where to go and what to do. Their cooking is amazing. I for one am a very picky eater and not Vegan. My wife is Vegan and Casa Axis Muni's cuisine is wooooooooowwww!!! Reminds me of being a child and eating with my grandpa in the morning. Always a yummy papaya, fresh local fruit, fresh juices, and today we even had a treat with roasted baby banana topped with hemp hearts and roasted nuts. We will miss you guys !!! Beate may all your family be great upon your visit to Germany and you are here with us too and we are with you in your heart. Bless all your loved ones. Thank you all for everything ! Villas Colibri
Aside from the hummingbird mural painted on the outer stucco walls, this place is fairly…read moreunassuming. But when you walk through the (passcode protected) entryway, it's like that scene from 'Wizard of Oz' when everything turns to color. If I'm not mistaken, there are eight units tucked away in this little tropical paradise. Some are three bedroom while others are four. (Our unit had three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.) In each unit: full kitchen, dining room and living area with couches and chairs. Not to mention, the master bedroom features a small outside balcony with table and chairs. Want to lounge outside your front door? You can hook up a hammock, or sit in one of the chairs and watch the two cats on the property, or the occasional hummingbird. Or just read to your heart's content. A light breakfast is provided each morning -- pastries, coffee and juices -- in an outdoor cafe setting. Villas Colibri also features a moderately sized pool, for folks who don't want to trek elsewhere to get wet. Thankfully, this place is smoke-free. Villas Colibri isn't exactly off the beaten path -- it sits near a fire station and amongst several retail stores and eateries -- it is a five-minute drive to the main shoreline avenue, where thousands of cruise-goers hang out for hours on end taking free tequila shots and looking for Mexican tchotchke to take back home. In other words, if you want a really good taco that's made for locals, there are three joints within a two-minute walk. There is also a convenience store around the corner for your beer, soda and snack desires. Not only are these businesses patronized by residents, they are actually priced for residents. That leads me to the only real negative about this place. While you are secluded, there is the occasional noise of traffic that bleeds through the walls and palm cover. During our week there, the fire station next door also received a few emergency calls. Not a big deal. Villas Colibri is smack dab in the middle of town, after all. Finally, I cannot say enough about the crew working here. Everyone is polite and eager to help in any way possible, including snagging us a few cabs and making reservations for a chocolate-making class.

That's someone I will take on my team anytime. During our stay, we had several glitches, and Fidel provided a professional outlet for us to express ourselves while maintaining brand standards. He has a difficult job and does it very well. BANQUETS REVIEW My friends hosted a Private pool party at Presidente InterContinental Cancun in August went on without a hitch. The pool area, cabanas, and buffet stations were immaculate . Despite the rain, we had a fabulous time. One star deduction for not being prepared for my food allergies which the catering/ banquet staff was aware of for more than three weeks. Thankfully, the staffed hurried to find two items that I could eat. They covered for the below par communication and made it work for me to have a chicken breast and two slices of steak which were both cooked properly and were flavorful. Most importantly, the wedding couple was not impacted. They had a wonderful time.

After getting off of the ferry the hotel is only about 4-5 blocks down the same road the ferry is on, on the right side of the street. Just walk straight toward the Caribbean/GOM side. I arrived a bit before noon, was met by Angel, checked in and in my room quickly. Easy process. Felt like I was walking thru a rainforest on the way to the room. Grounds are lush with all types of trees and plants. Stayed on the 2nd floor in Room #17. Two double beds, a/c with remote, tile floors, and plenty of hot water with great pressure in the shower (not always available in some hotels). Walls and woodwork in the room are unique, in a good way. See photos of the ceiling, great detail and workmanship. Room is well maintained. WiFi was generally OK during my stay, but there were periods when there was no signal at all. That too was no problem as I didn't come here to work. The staff was very accommodating. While booking my husband didn't change the date from what auto-filled, so he made the reservation for the wrong date. We contacted hotels.com since he made the reservation though them and they were not helpful at all. They basically said they could reserve the correct night if we paid full price again for it, because that was the hotel policy. I was ready to write a horrible review, because this meant that they had rooms available and we realized the mistake minutes after the reservation was made. I decided to verify this policy with the hotel first, so I sent them an e-mail. Turns out this was not their policy, they made the change at no charge.
