My Fiancé and I are having our wedding at Belmond's Casa de Sierra Nevada. This 5 star hotel has given us 5 star service and assistance along the way with the planning. Andrea and Gabriela have been so helpful - they are always prompt with their responses to our questions, they do their best to accommodate our needs, and they are professional and kind. We had our tasting a few months back are were very happy with the offerings. We had a tour of Casa Del Parque to see all of the updated rooms. They were beautiful! We can't wait to have our special day at Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada:)

After talking to our travel agent and others, we went with the former, and we're so glad we went with Belmond's Casa de Sierra Nevada.

There were minor issues that had to be taken care of during the stay. Service was always responsive, but sometimes you needed to ask more than once. (Hopefully the next people staying at 22 will have that battery replaced for the safe in the room) It was amazing to have a single point of contact. Through WhatsApp, Victor made everything easy. The property itself is gorgeous. I missed the tour of the property upon check in, so I am sure I ended up only seeing a fraction of it since most of my time was off property. Their Dia de los Muertos dinner in a large tented area in the back turned out to be an absolute must-do. The food was outstanding, and they kept you entertained for the entire evening. The walk to Centro was short enough to make everything feel close by, and eventually you got to know the streets enough to make the vertical challenge less of an issue. Dining, or at least having a drink, at Luna Rooftop is an absolute must. It gives you a view of the entire Centro of SMA which is something more encompassing than the painted wonders of the closer restaurants in town.

I went to lobby to ask if I could switch rooms. The game room would close at 11 p.m. That was too late. They were able to find a room for me. There were some loud kids in the connecting room next to my new one but luckily, they went to sleep by 11. The walls are thin. Next day I enjoyed some time by the swimming pool deck. I ordered a tamarindo margarita. It's the best I've tried. The pool is not heated. The included breakfast buffet was huge with lots of options. The bar next to the restaurant has karaoke on Tuesdays. I joined some locals who were singing Latin American songs. I'd stay here again.

There's also a pool table, and foosball. The rooms are very nice with tile floors, big flat screen TV, and patio. There are a handful of channels in English that show movies, and an MTV station playing videos from the 90's and early 2000's. The only two things was that the the bathroom sink was leaking, and it was so loud that we had to turn off the water supply just so we can sleep. Also the heater was loud when it was running. But other than those two things, it was an amazing time!

We stayed in room 9 (there are only 9 rooms) and it had a balcony with a peek-a-boo view of the church. I was told that the largest room is room 1 but it's right across the way from the front desk. Which may be noisy for some. We requested a crib during our reservation and a pack n play was already set up when we arrived. Customer service was very friendly and extremely helpful. Room 8 & 9 are up the stairs and across the bridge. Both king bed rooms. It's a quiet room and went didn't need the ear plugs they provided on each night stand. We heard the occasional church bells ringing but not loud enough to wake us. AC unit worked like a charm. TV had basic channels but wasn't used very much. The balcony overlooked a very cute garden. They have complimentary breakfast on the rooftop dining area. They had a nice spread: coffee, orange juice, toast, yogurt, two kinds of cereal, fresh cut fruit, and bananas. They also have a little menu you can order from for an additional cost. Chilaquiles con huevos served with a side of beans and toasted slices of a baguette. Yum! If you have a car, they have a complimentary valet. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Only con is the hot water. It runs out quick so no long hot showers.
