I ultimately had to file a small claims lawsuit. The court entered judgment in my favor, confirming that I was owed money. Unfortunately, collecting on that judgment has been an entirely separate battle that has required additional court appearances and significant time and expense. It has led to a dead end for me because of his assets (or lack thereof). The financial loss is frustrating, but what stands out most is the complete lack of accountability throughout this process. This means business employees contacting me after I asked they not. I'm not going to be snarky and point out that all the conversations between Jan and I were posted via screenshot, by me. Including Karen's unredacted email. I posted about my experience and added the facts so others may judge for themselves. I included unedited screen shots, Jan commented with edited copy/paste data. Use that to determine what you will. End edit. I am being contacted, again, after I requested they leave me alone. To Jan, Karen, and Custom Built Fence - I request that any further communication be through your lawyer (as stated in the letter). Deck Doc just finished power washing, sanding and staining my deck, and I am 100% satisfied with…read moretheir work. I scheduled the work around last November, as I wanted my deck to be refinished and looking good for the full 2025 season. The first days with decent weather in late April the deck was washed, and by early May the deck was finished. A crew of 2 worked a full day power washing and bleaching the deck and 2 sections of yard fencing. Every part of the deck was thoroughly cleaned, including areas not normally visible, and all areas of the deck that were surrounded by bushes. Within about a week, as soon as we had a few sunny days and warmer weather, a crew of three worked a full day sanding and staining the deck and fence. The deck floor was power sanded, and all other surfaces were hand sanded, before all sawdust was carefully blown away and stain was applied. Deck Doc did an outstanding job, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. Communications regarding scheduling were excellent, work was done competently and on the days and at the times promised. The area around the deck was left completely clean when work was completed. Thank you for making my deck look like new.

I scheduled an appointment and had a quick reply with a meeting shortly thereafter. SEAN was awesome. He came out to take a look, and my deck hadn't been kept up all that well. He took a look and gave me his analysis. He provided me with options along with his recommendation. A few days passed and I received the quote. I called Sean to review it and he was looking out for me and ways to still do things right but not break the bank. We agreed to get to work. The guys arrived and started the repairs. I needed more repaired than initially thought. I knew it wasn't in great shape so I had expected that. We completed phase 1 and they basically rebuilt my whole top deck. It turned out awesome. Most recently they came to sand and stain and that really turned out great. My deck previously had the paint/stain. Because the people that applied that did so on both sides it caused major issues.
