They charged me a $75 cancelation fee! I have canceled my insurance with other companies many times in the past and never has a company had the audacity to charge a cancelation fee. I have been a customer of TD Meloche Monnex for over 10 years (since I got my driver's license)…read more Since then, my entire immediate family has become their customer and has added our residence to the portfolio, While their prices are generally competitive, the recent claims experience I had (my first in over 10 years) was TERRIBLE!! It took the company over a month to evaluate my car, cause they were trying to find an evaluator that would not deem it a total loss. After failing to find someone who would act in their best interests, they finally agreed to call it a loss. Throughout the entire claims process, I was not treated with any form of customer service or politeness. I was treated like they were doing me a favour after having paid them money for more than a decade. Further, I was forced to make all phone calls between necessary parties myself. They would not help me. When I tried to express my dissatisfaction, I was called "difficult". I am only with this company becuase of the pricing they offer. They have no idea what customer service is and it does not seem that they care to improve upon it. This only goes to show that you pay for what you get and that price is not necessarily the only factor.

As soon they knew I was moving to BC where the government is the only one that sells car insurance, they pretty much close any doors for me and refused to continue having an insurance on my home in Quebec as I was not going to live there anymore, they also refused to give me a vacant permit until my house gets sold. They gave me just a couple of weeks to get insurance in BC for my 2 cars, but they took all the time in the world to simply send me a record or experience via email, that could show in BC that my file has ever been clean of accidents and tickets and save me a lot on car insurance. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!!!! I will never get any kind of RBC insurance in my life, they treated me like garbage after so many years of customer loyalty that I feel ashamed of myself for being so good to them.
