I signed up for the 1 week lyra intensive and it not only improved the integrity of my movements, strength and confidence, it also immersed me in a group of the best humans I've ever had the privilege of meeting and learning with. Kerri and Dakota are completely inspiring with the amount of care, expertise and embodied insight they share based off of decades of movement art experience. Eli, Marcel, Stu and the rest of the Casa Chango staff are incredible humans that put so much love into what they do. Also, the food is amazing!!! I'm very grateful I was able to experience this retreat with everyone involved, I miss everyone already and highly recommend it to anyone considering a retreat experience. You will not regret it!!

Absolutely!…read more When I first signed up for the one month residency here, my goals were pretty much to tan and learn some circus skills lol; but I'm happy to say the community here just made everything "more" than what I was expecting. Circus classes: the classes were excelente! Master instructor(?) Kerri is amazing, to say the least. As an experienced aerialist and teacher, she knows her craft and breaks down skills in ways that are consumable by different types of learners. The visiting instructors (at the time I was here, Dwoira and Brandi) are also very kind and experienced aerial and flex instructors. Location: La Punta in Puerto Escondido is is such lovely place to live in. The current retreat location is only a few min walk from the beach. It's off the main street which is good for noise control a but similarly the main areas are only a few min walk away and includes stores, cafés, restaurants, etc. Casa Chango: I haven't lived in a community such as this before, and it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. I had my own cabana for some weeks before moving into a shared apartment (with private room) and both were very pleasant; I even had some cute gecko "roommates" sometimes. Meals took place in a shared kitchen and were always delicious and nutritious, and the staff are very friendly. Community: Omg the people here - Kerri and Stu, the staff, the students, etc. Considering we principally went from complete stranger status to living in the same community, things felt seamless and welcoming. On the flip side of that, there was never any pressure to participate in group activities, classes, or even meals; as an ambivert, my introvert side was very appreciative and grateful for this. Overall, highly recommend Sweet Retreats for all the reasons mentioned above and move, and I look forward to staying and learning from them again in the future.

One of my favorite things in this world is finding secret gems before they become popular, and then…read morehaving the opportunity to roll my eyes and deep sigh when months later people start raving about the place I already knew about. Casablanca Guest House is one of those places. As D and I relaxed in the pool, we mused about how we should probably try to book our next stay before they become too popular for us to get back. The property is gorgeous. It's one of the few hotels that somehow manages to look as good, if not better, than the photos online portray. The location is beautiful, and perfectly quiet except for the waves crashing against the shore. A short walk down a dirt path into town, it's the best combination of quiet and remote yet with the convenience of being near all of the restaurants. The rooms are lovely, and perfectly kept. Each one with an ocean view. The added bonus is of course that we could drink straight from the tap and had a full kitchen so we could save a bit on meals. And the pool... I can't imagine anything more relaxing than going for a walk and then cooling off in the gorgeous salt water pool, staring out at the ocean. Kelly and Sherry are incredible hosts. They truly made us feel welcome at their property and were beyond gracious. Absolutely worth the trip!

We have tried to think of everything to make your stay the best it can be including, clean drinking water out of the tap, hot water, salt water pool, excellent water pressure, over head fans, air conditioning, private bathroom, full equipped kitchen, very comfortable King size beds, day beds, a huge common area with lots of shade and an incredible pool with an incredible view. We also have the best Wifi in the area and all rooms have a hard wired access point for excellent coverage. It is all about the details and we try to take care of all the details for you. The hosts /teachers, Sam and his bro Gustino gave much more than a tip with warp and woof, introducing us to the language of the traditional designs of their People. This is not unusual, for all textiles speak a language to the cultures they serve, but hearing the background from Sam opened our eyes and heart to the region. Upon leaving, I felt almost literate in the land,it's history and its People. Benizaa designs spoke to us where ever we looked. We also saw that climate change is impacting all of the west coast. If any group is bound to make corrective and adaptive changes,it is these People. Dive not into a resort swimming pool, but into the beauty and wisdom of Oaxaca. Choose love.
