After reading the great reviews and my conversation with Ben and finally meeting him at the property. I decided to have them manage my property. Within 2 days of Icon Realty having the property in their listings, it was rented on day 2 (two). Ben, At Icon Realty has truly been professional and responsive thought the whole process. I believe that Icon Realty was involved in hacking my bank account. I leased an apartment in the heart of las olas/Fort Lauderdale from December 2016, from Atlantic loft llc. I agreed to pay a 2 month security deposit of $2400 as well as first, last and security (pretty standard) got my key, etcétera. After 2 different companies handling our property, ICON Realty came in January 2020 and revamped property by implementing a ***online payment service ***** aka , a way to get into your bank account. I questioned who this is and why I had to use this system to pay, not only to be replied with "It is our new system and you have to use it, you must pay rent this way or consult your attorney" As I went ahead and used it but decided to not renew my upcoming ending lease of 3/30/20. I emailed, texted and explain that I would not be renewing the lease because not only I don't trust the payment system, I had a very difficult time communicating with Benjamin (who by the way runs the whole thing). He ignored all my calls and the ones he replied, he did very rudely. I promptly moved out on schedule and handed him the keys along with my original lease agreement. He took the keys and said that He did not have a refund and I would need to wait 30 days to receive one on the mail. Now 30 days later. My bank account has been HACKED and bank investigated the multiple charges leading back to that January rent payment. I have been getting random withdrawals from different wiring entities totaling over 1k so far. Due to covid19, I can not yet file a claim in court. And the reason I am writing this is to WARN tenants and landlords about companies like this! I am attaching the refund check I just received. What a joke! See you in court.

    We bought a beautiful remodeled home in South Florida from Stellar Homes Group/Starwood Waypoint…read more They did a pretty nice job with most of the major finish work, but I've discovered more and more "lipstick finishes" that look nice, but are still cheap shortcuts that will cost you significantly shortly down the road: 1. Wall framing. I'm assuming by the wall finishes that they gutted this place and replaced all of the dry wall and non structural studs. The dry wall work and finish is nice, but they used cheap steel/aluminum studs and as few as the couple possibly get away with. None of the closests were shelved, which seemed nice at the time as we could customize to our liking. But, when installing shelving (which was not cheap or fast by the way) I found the stud spacing was not only inconsistent, but ridiculously wide. I had to install horizontal lathes in order to attach anything securely. I would shocked if the stud spacing meets code. 2.The exterior steel doors were cheaply painted over without a primer, and the paint is already flaking off from normal use. 3. The bathtub (from 1982) was not replaced, but instead painted with the same cheap and thin coat of paint as the doors. The paint is flaking off and looks terrible, and clogs the drain. It will have to be all removed and the tub either properly refinished or replaced. 4. Electrical. This is really a joke. The bathroom switches are not properly wired and have to be replaced. There are 4 light switches in the house that do not operate anything, not overhead lights, appliances or outlets. The AC unit has some electrical issue resulting in the breaker tripping very few days and the house becomes an oven. I'll be having an electrician out to fix that, and will have to wire electrical into the garage as well as there is only one outlet and the circuit seems to be overloaded. 5. The pool. Besides the main drain cover that they had to install as a result of our inspections, I had to replace the pool pump, have the return lines rerouted, rewire the pump timer, and replace the pool light. 6. Appliances all look nice and are new, but we later discovered that they are about the cheapest you can find. 7. Gutters. The neighbors indicated that there were gutters on the house before the remodel. And you can see where the hangers were installed. No gutters now, and using the front entrance or the sun room when it's raining is like going to the water park. I'll have to install new gutters. 8. The gate was new, but poorly installed and the hardware doesn't work. I have to take it all apart and re-do it so it will function. There are a handful of other minor irritating shortcomings, but you get the point. If anything it's a lesson for me in practicing a greater level of scrutiny during due diligence. But I hope that lesson can reach others ahead of time if you are considering a "beautiful" home by Stellar/Starwood Waypoint. We definitely feel that given all the cheap shortcuts, we were duped into significantly overpaying for the house. These lipstick upgrades are a cheap and intentionally deceptive gimmick to fatten a company's bottom line and it should be exposed.
