The communication was also great for us as the family memebers, they kept us up to date and had us come in for several sessions with our family member. I do not recommend this program to anyone. I was referred here by a friend. None of the counselors have knowledge of psychology, a lot of the staff and patients were rude, there was low level bullying going on, and I made sure my mother was not on my release form but found the director still spoke with her in her own way without my consent, then had the audacity to call me abusive. She didn't know or care to know my history with my mother, and was not on my side. I felt judged, misunderstood, and like I was in a way, forced to be there by my own parents when I needed medical treatment so desperately. I felt this place just took the money and agreed to helping me, only to be somewhat shady and odd once I got there. It was sad time for me. I felt mistreated. That is not how you treat anyone (especially a sick person). I felt some of the staff was mean, especially Kat, and just watched me 24/7. I felt uncomfortable most of the time. Upon my last week or so there, I got yelled at and mistreated by another client in one of the houses I lived at. She was mocking me and I told the operations manager about it. He came by the house and got everyone's story in the house besides mine. The next day, I was called in the office and admitted I engaged in reactive abuse, which is when we react to unfairness in ways we don't mean because I made a rude comment back to the girl. My therapist Brynn labeled this as "worse" even though the other client was low key violent prone, and I have proof of that, because she is aggressive and was making fists when talking to another girl in the group. They used my reaction (which if they were actually versed in psychology they would know WHY i reacted this way), to kick me out of the house (as if I started the beef with the other client, which I didn't). Without enough of a notice, I ended up being forced to go to a sober living (mind you, I do not even have an addiction problem), and ended up on the street. They did not care to check in with me, and I was at this program for 5 MONTHS. They should have been on my side, knowing that I was in an abusive relationship with my parents and were holding finances over my head (which is financial abuse). The night I was left on the street, I really thought I may die that night. Thank God I have the faith of a mustard seed, because I prayed harder than ever after 2 days of homelessness. I ended up finding a REAL therapist to talk to who moved me into her home that night (thank you Jesus).While I was living there, the owner of Casa called me and I shared my grievences with her. When I shared them, she strangely made rude comments about how shes sure I "have not and will not" find a better treatment center to live at, but I was living at one. One in which the women were supportive, the home owner was fair, we each had our chores to do and kept the house very clean. There wasn't drama that any of the girls could get away with. When you're vulnerable, at times, you need somoene to stick up for you. Especially at a rehabilitation center. I do not recommend this phony, "counseling" center that takes your money and doesn't know how to help sick people who are vulnerable!!!! By the grace of God, I ended up going to a better treatment center after this who ACTUALLY helped me get better. I'm very glad i'm alive, and no I do not recommend this place at all. read more

After 5 weeks in the php program I was starting to have trust in the program and open up about past traumas and issues other than what originally brought me to casa. I was discharged due to be accused of being in a relationship with someone of the opposite gender who I was friends with. The other party was given a warning and I was discharged with no warning for "fraternizing". Despite staff being told by both of us we are just friends my fate was decided without giving me a chance to prove otherwise. I feel very abandoned by my treatment team after this and sought treatment elsewhere. Unfortunately I do not Feel safe to open up again due to fear of being abandoned by yet another treatment program for my mental health. I wish this was handled differently and we weren't treated like we were in middle school. Don't become friends with people of the opposite sex otherwise you'll be accused of being in a relationship and discharged without warning. read more

First things first, Casa Recovery is not a place to help with your mental health! They swear they are well-versed in depression and other diagnoses, but everything there is extremely elementary and there classes consist of handouts from mostly outdated workbooks!!! Their main focus is drug and alcohol abuse, but there "team" is stretched so thin they can hardly keep up with patient names. If you call and ask direct questions they will be intentionally vague and tell you everything is "individualized and customized" to each patient, but it couldn't be further from the truth! It's billed as a 30/60/90 program, but once there You WILL BE told You need to stay longer; everyone is told that!!! Their program director(initials S.F.) is unbelievably unprofessional, condescending and literally verbally abusive to patients!!! She's egregiously inappropriate and takes no responsibility for their actions(or inaction for that matter). Covid protocols are atrocious and nothing short of negligent! "Minimize, deny, gaslight" should be their motto. I will say that a few of their therapists are great, but the atmosphere is toxic and they like to say "no program is perfect". There's so much more I can say, but in summary please feel free to contact me if you've experienced similar or before making the same horrible decision I made to go and waste $20k+... Casa is not a fancy place to go - it is a place to go if you are serious about recovering, following the process, and leaning in on self-reflection. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs help - they have a good set of treatment options they will customize for you. They also listen and take into account you and your needs. Just completed six weeks of 'treatment' at Casa Recovery, and would seriously caution anyone from enrolling in this program. If I could to sum up the things that are not working at Casa Recovery, it would boil down to: Consistency, Safety, Intentionality, Transparency and Accountability...and my personal concerns and experiences are shared by many other current and former clients. Management will not do what is necessary to ensure your safety and wellbeing! The therapists are the only reason I got what I needed to return home, and most are now gone or leaving. They make claims about treatment that they aren't equipped to provide, and I highly suspect that they solicit positive reviews to offset the ones that tell the full story of mismanagement and misconduct. I can't rave enough about the staff and therapy at Casa Recovery! I attended their PHP program for a month after completing 21 days at inpatient. I wasn't at all ready for "the real world" when I arrived at Casa, but after a week in their groups I began to regain my confidence and feel comfortable navigating life sober. All of the staff were attentive and made sure I received the support I needed. My counselor, Mike, and therapist, Sandi, were incredible and so insightful. They helped me decipher my anxiety and fundamental drives that drove me to my addictive behaviors. They gave me the tools to function in the world without constant fear of self-destruction. When I graduated their program I was more than prepared to return home and continue my growth and sobriety confidently. The houses I lived in while at Casa were beautiful, clean, and well run. I loved both my house managers. Thank you so much Casa for giving me my life back!! **I thought about giving 4 instead of 5 stars because of some initial issues with my first therapist who's no longer there. Also, we weren't provided with transportation to the Gym as frequently as I was told we would be, but I quickly got my own car and it wasn't a big deal. If you want the very best for you loved one...be very cautious of this place. First off, rehab is a very tender and emotional thing for anyone to have to go through, it is hard for all parties involved. I was shocked when the staff took our families money and then told us that they would be exiting our child and that we must pick him up or the police would need to be called, one week into the program. After expressing concerns of anger issues, prior to entry, we were assured that was not a problem, they were equipped to handles all situations. It is questionable that the first week of detox Be extremely CAUTIOUS of LISA, JESUS, and KRISHNA! You would expect that people helping those in the recovery community would be professionals, but it is highly possible another program without monetary concern is better at the job of recovery. read more

Casa Recovery is one of the best treatment centers in the OC area. The staff is caring, professional and relatable. They have years of experience in recovery and treatment. My counselor Mike was so awesome and encouraged me to do the work and stay for as long as it took. I was one of those who tried to leave on the first day and I am so grateful I stayed. I owe that to Mike. The groups are relevant and helped me tremendously with my coping skills and relationship issues. I had some sobriety time under my belt and relapsed in 2017. I was out for about 3 yrs until I just couldn't take it anymore. I needed to go back to treatment and Casa was the right choice. I honestly thought I was going to go for 30 days and get back into the AA program. I had no idea that my anxiety and depression was at the level that it was. Alcohol had been masking it for a while. Casa was able to give me the mental health care that I didn't know I needed. Ashlyn, my therapist was the absolute best. I never felt like she was judging me. Instead I felt a strong connection with her and trusted her enough to get out all the crap inside in order to begin the healing process. I highly recommend going to Casa. I left CR on Friday, June 24th. Let me preface this post by saying that all three therapists there are amazing! That is where the pros end and the cons begin. My family and I were misled in several different ways when making our decision of which recovery facility would be best suited for me. One of the most reckless incidents occurred when a staff member (who was filling in for our process group therapist/leader) made a defaming and hurtful comment to me about my husband. It was SO egregious that it set me back and caused more trauma for me. You should also know there were at least four witnesses to this event. The lies and coverup that ensued following that incident are scary and very disheartening. To think that the clinical director of CR would rather lie than stand up for what is right for the patient is one of many reasons that my family and I feel like we have to take action. if you are in need of any type of help, please look elsewhere. read more

Casa recovery is not as they paint it. The three therapists are great but I cannot say the same for the rest of the staff. I and others were told many times that disassociation is a choice and I should learn to snap out of it. If you have a reaction to any of the classes and need to step out you are told to either go back to the class or go to the hospital instead of receiving any kind of time to process what you're learning or get any support from the staff. When I expressed I struggled with an eating disorder I was sent to see their dietitian who spoke about her personal weight struggles, suggested we drink wine if we were to drink (keep in mind many patients struggle with alcoholism), and blamed all of controversial opinions on a book and struggled to explain what she meant at any point during class. I personally did not have the worst experience but witnessed many of my peers struggling and being treated poorly at the facility. Condescending tones and excuses are their favorite to use almost in place of treatment. The classes they offer are repetitive and most of the time not taught by a licensed therapist. Most classes are just reading off a printed article, sometimes the instructor didn't even know the material that they were supposed to teach. The website has not been updated in a while and some people listed on it do not work at the facility anymore and some services are no longer offered or not offered in they way described. Going in I was told it was a 30,60,90 day program which I was later told that was not true and you could stay more or less time. When issues arised and we're brought to attention of some staff it was met with the response of 'well you can always leave' or 'then why are you still in this program?' But they have a no refund policy and make you pay prior to getting there. Most of the time I felt like a burden to this facility and I know many of my peers feel similarly. If you truly want yourself or a loved one to improve this is not the place for you. read more

I spent 90+ days at Casa. When I arrived I was struggling with severe anxiety, depression, and (what I later learned) trauma. I was also self medicating with substances to help cope with my mental health. The first several weeks were difficult. Sharing my honest feelings, getting vulnerable, and taking suggestions were all very foreign to me. As I continued in the program things started to get better and better. I found the entire clinical staff to be professional, competent, and very well versed in treating all the things I was struggling with. They encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. They challenged and educated me on my distorted thinking patterns. I didn't necessarily like or agree with everything they said, but it was all things I needed to hear and work through. I felt supported and heard even during the "tough stuff". The family therapy was super helpful. It provided a safe space for us to heal as a family. I found Casa to be an "all hands on deck" approach. It wasn't easy but it was just what I needed. Thank you Casa for showing me a new way to live and how to navigate all things life throws at us. I am beyond thankful for Casa Recovery. The staff team are actual miracle workers. However, if you are not ready to drastically change & face reality, then you are not ready for this program.... you and only you, do the actual work. It's an entirely safe and compassionate atmosphere to make mistakes, and then learn coping mechanisms and thinking patterns that bring about healing...This program helped me to be completely aware of the unhealthy patterns that brought me into treatment in the first place, and then, it gave me my power back. I actually believe in myself again, with the presence of my higher power....I feel a peace and freedom in my mental health like I've never felt before. My daughter went to Casa Recovery after an inpatient stay in another state. We did a lot of research to pick the best fit for her and we were not disappointed. Even before her admission the staff was efficient and super easy to work with and that remained true for her 90 day stay. I received regular updates both from the administrative and clinical staff. The program is well run, caring and professional. My daughter received excellent care and the program really worked for her. CASA will always be a second home to me. That's how deep the connection went once I entered the doors. Never before have I been to a treatment center (of which I've been to MANY) where such a deep emphasis was put on client care and individual treatment plans. They get to know you, find out what your needs are, and develop a treatment plan that is just right for YOU. The honor the fact that treatment isn't a one-size-fits-all situation. I've never been to a place where I was given as much one-on-one care as I needed. The client population is small enough to where that is possible, which I appreciated a lot. CASA saved my life, and I find solace in the fact that they will always be my family and will always accept me back with open arms should I need help again. I have mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, the groups were interesting if repetitive after a while, and I appreciated that I was able to get the "in patient" rehab experience without actually being locked up in a facility. So you live in their housing (regular houses with roommates), and attend groups during the day. The location is beautiful and the housing is pretty nice. You are able to get a job and have a car after a few weeks. You can stay there as long as your insurance is willing to pay. Usually up to three or four months although there were people who I knew had been there for almost a year. However If you fall out of line or struggle AT ALL, you may be asked to leave the program without any notice. Like, pack your bags and leave THAT DAY as you will not be welcome in their housing or programs anymore. If you have a life of any kind, such as a job or any other responsibilities you have developed, kiss them goodbye. I saw a few people who were made to leave this way. I would say the biggest nono - don't relapse. Addicts sometimes do this. If you have a life, they WILL abruptly ask you to drop everything. You can't refuse or ask them to be flexible with you because they will threaten you with losing your housing and getting kicked out of the program. There is no flexibility for out of towners. I relapsed, went to detox and got right back on the horse to sobriety. They still called me up AT MY JOB one day and told me I would have to quit, right there, on the spot so I could attend group more often, or not be welcome back at CASA which would mean losing my housing. I had to quit because I was out of town and had no place else to go. I wasn't willing to be homeless thousands of miles away from my family. When I angrily demanded why they asked me to do something like that, I was told this was not their policy to ask me to start going to more groups after a relapse but the policy of my insurer. At the time I was attending groups three days per week, three hours per day and they wanted me to go five days per week, six hours per day after I relapsed. I called my insurer and asked if they had anything to do with the decision to make me quit my job and attend more groups and I was told this was solely up to CASA. Another thing is if you are not ready to discuss trauma issues, you may be pushed to do so before you are ready. This happened to me and at least one other person that I am aware of. Thirdly, they have this weird policy where they sometimes pair women with male counselors and males with women counselors. I was told it was because "women don't trust other women as much". Look, if you need to discuss things of a "sensitive" nature, there is nothing more awkward than discussing it with a man when you really don't want to. Bottom line, this place is fine. It's in a beautiful location, and the groups are interesting ...BUT they have a ZERO TOLERANCE for relapse. In fact if you fall out of line or struggle AT ALL, you may be asked to leave the program without any notice and your trauma issues may be handled indelicately. I frankely left feeling MORE traumatized and am struggling with trusting another program after this experience. If you can overlook those things then this place may work for you. Otherwise, find someplace else to go. Just call your insurer and ask for a list of similar programs or go to an IOP in your home state so you don't have to worry about losing your housing if you have a hiccup. read more

The decision to come to Casa Recovery was the best thing I could have done for myself and exactly what I needed to begin my recovery journey. I had looked into other programs, but the staff here was extremely professional and genuinely cared about all of their clients. They were welcoming, comforting, and truly wanted to help each person succeed. I enjoyed all the therapists' groups as well as case managers' sessions. Diana was my therapist, and I can't say enough amazing things about her. She is the best therapist I have ever had - and she helped with external factors, triggers, personal needs, boundaries, self esteem, etc. The comradery of the clients at Casa made me feel like I was a part of something and we were all going through these struggles together. Everyone was very accepting and non-judgmental. It was the best place to be completely honest and vulnerable, to trust the process, listen to others' experiences, learn more about myself, and grow. I came here initially hoping I might stop drinking as much as I was at the time, and what I got out of the program was so much more than getting sober. 10 months ago I walked through the casa doors with no purpose or will to live. I was completely broken, defeated by life and I really believed there was no way out. I was going to die staring at life through the bottom of a bottle. Turns out I was very wrong. Every staff member at casa played a part in my recovery and showing me that I was allowed to be taken care of and that I was worthy of love and compassion. They were able to help me uncover traumas and issues from my past, teaching me how to dig deep into the pain, be vulnerable, feel it, and let it go. They gave me all the tools I needed to lead a successful life full of purpose. On my day 60, I got word that the absolute most important person in my life was on life support back in Seattle. Something i NEVER imagined I could walk through sober. But I was able fly home and be there with my grandma when she took her last breath. Sober. I had mike and sandy constantly guiding me along the way on the phone, at all times of the day and night. Whenever I needed support. And when I got back to casa, I was embraced with love and support. I was in a safe place where I was allowed to be vulnerable and grieve in my own way with infinite support. Without writing a novel here, I'm just going to say that Casa recovery not only saved my life but helped me find my purpose, my why. They gave me and my family hope. Mike, Pat, Sandy, Kevin, Kristen, Krishna...every staff member all played a big part in my healing and my ability to grow and change and become unbroken. I'm a productive member of society now. I'm back to work, I have a car, I have a sponsor and I work the steps daily. I've been through death, back surgery, jail, house arrest, and more death. All in 10 months of sobriety. I owe that to the staff at casa. I couldn't have done it without them instilling their knowledge in me and giving me the tools. The staff is dedicated to each client and their individual needs. After a year and a half, Casa Recovery responded to my review! READERS, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY WHAT CASA RECOVER STATED IN THEIR RESPONSE! My daughter did not relapse during her recovery time. She has been clean since July, 2012. What I am getting from this response is that she was ejected from Casa because of a money issue! Removed from Casa and placed into sober living facility because Casa thought that the family could not afford treatment! That is clearly what the response says. Although untrue, but what does this say about your facility? All of the reviews are true. Casa Recovery is in it for the money and not the patient's recovery. If you have a loved one that is dealing with addiction, steer clear of Casa, they only want your money. Take the time to research and read other reviews. I am a 29 year old recovering heroin addict that had been using drugs for 16 years and I owe my life to this program. The people that wrote the bad reviews for CASA have never been through there program I have, I stayed with CASA for 4 months and I would encourage you to seriously consider there program for yourself or a family member because it is a truly special place. No one cares for there clients like CASA and after 6 treatment centers ranging from the Meadows in Arizona to Malibu horizon in C.A. trust me I know. Everyone there is in recovery so they understand what your going through, and the amount of counseling and therapy you receive is outstanding I've never had better and their not just there for you during the day the counselors are on call 24/7. And once you leave they are still there I still stay in contact with people from CASA. There program has so much to offer Therapy, one on one counseling, groups, 12 step meetings, massage, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, gym. Every weekend there's an activity like the movies, bowling, the beach have a BBQ ect They showed us we could have fun sober. I know a lot of people who have been to CASA and not one of them have anything but amazing things to say about the treatment center and everyone there. And there is one thing I know and that's that they are not doing this to get rich! The owner Krishna is a wonderful woman who helps many people that struggle with addiction this is not your typical treatment center it's like a family. They do a lot more than just get you off of drugs , Not only did they help me get sober but they helped me get back into school, work on getting my license back, look for a job, helped me with my trauma and helped rebuild the trust I had lost with my Husband and family. I spent my first sober thanksgiving with my CASA family and because of there program I was able to be sober for Christmas and New years and spend the holidays with my husband and our family. I am so grateful for the staff and services I received at Casa. Leading up to admission to and after discharging from the facility, I received consistent support. Deciding to receive treatment and choosing a facility is overwhelming and especially when you feel at your lowest low. The admission staff, specifically Sean, reduced my anxiety, made things easier to navigate, we're accommodating to my individual needs, followed up and ultimately made me feel certain Casa was the right choice for me. The program has structure, while allowing for a variety of therapy modalities and perspectives to be explored in groups, and the staff does an excellent job at maintaining the space and enforcing guidelines and necessary rules. My therapist Catherine worked very well with me, she provides the right amount of structure and guidance while maintaining client focused and allowing me to find my own path and answers. My Caseworker Eva supported me to take care of administrative tasks, communication and scheduling with loved ones, and my needs outside treatment that weren't necessarily covered in one on one therapy or groups. As I spent more time at Casa, I began to feel as if my brain was becoming more and more rewired, I learned that self compassion is something that exists and that I have it for myself, I learned what balance feels like, by the time I left I felt more capable than I ever have before. Casa helped me feel prepared as I left and even followed up after. If this is something you are thinking of doing, I encourage you to take the leap... it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. Okay if your are reading this then your life has likely fallen apart. You are trying to make a decision on where to go. Here is why you might consider Casa. They provided me with a comprehensive response to healing with a focus on my health from multiple perspectives. They gave me tools to cope in this world. I was able to heal my anxiety at Casa. We went after it and I can truthfully say that I no longer suffer from anxiety. Thank you Casa. Casa connected me with a psychologist of whom ran a battery of tests on me to provide me and Casa with an accurate assessment of how I met the world. The assessment was uncanny accurate and eerily specific. The report told me about my depression, anxiety and PTSD. The good doctor Chase also revealed my cognitive dysfunction as a result of my heart attacks and uncounted overdoses. The good people at Casa, looked at my assessment and tailored their entire team to respond to meet my needs. Here we went way past "don't do drugs, they are bad for you". The whole point was to give me an understanding of how I connected with the world and what steps I needed to become a better person. You don't have to be a drug user to benefit from what Casa has to offer. They are able to help most anyone and are very well equipped to do just that. Perhaps not with food disorders but certainly people struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, a solid range of mental illnesses or simply having difficulty connecting well with the world. Casa brought this detailed understanding of me to my therapist, Shelley, who came on strong and did not waste my time. She did not feel sorry for me or say useless feel good statements to me. She was fully matter of fact. We went straight to work and she worked hard with me. Our sessions were powerful and intense. She turned me onto EMDR. Such intense stuff. It connects the reptilian brain with the emotions and our cerebral cortex all together as one. You cannot think your way out of an emotional response or a deep set fight or flight response. This stuff is the real deal for me. She is the best therapist I have had the good fortune to meet and I have seen many therapists over the years. Thank you Casa. I was assigned a personal counsellor. Mike has a practical approach to living. His advise was no nonsense, and coming from an ex-con, he was solid and very capable. Casa has a massage therapist and an Acupuncturist on site for treatment to calm the body. They taught yoga, a breath-works class, meditation classes, art therapy and they taught a class on awareness of nutrition and working out. Thank you Bernie. The work that Kevin did with us during something called psycho drama was significant and profound. It was a deeply moving event when he facilitated a conversation with my son. It was as if he was there and I had a conversation with him. It was very powerful. Being a participant in this Theater was connecting and moving for me. Sacred stuff. The groups were engaging and while they repeated the themes, I got a ton out of the group sessions. It really is a situation where you get out what you put in. I was 110% committed to getting everything I could because I am not coming back. Treatment is no spa. It's hard work. And it takes time. Casa is very good about supporting any recovery group, be it Buddhist based or any of the traditional 12 step programs. Mike was very patient with me and eventually was able to show me what I was missing out when I refused to go to the 12 step programs. I am forever grateful for his insight and encouragement. Sandy is the boss and is the gatekeeper for Casa. She keeps the rules. While she has to be the hard ass, she was kind to me. One day when it was all too much for me, I broke down crying in her office and had a solid and deep cry with her. She received me so very well. Thank you Sandy. The psychiatrist who manages the care from way up high is an incredible man. He is kind, patient, knowledgeable and understanding. He came to see us several times and wow, everything he said to me left me amazed. He is truly a wizard. Casa has a number of houses and living arrangements. I stayed in one house for my three month duration. I had my own room and the house was quiet. Eli took great pride in caring for me. He was careful and thorough. A kind hearted man with a big heart of enthusiasm. The staff at Casa was amazing. There are a number of people working together to provide the service that they do. It's a remarkable place to go to for virtually any kind of mental illness. They don't judge you. They worked hard to provide specific and individual care for me. It paid off. I went to CASA recovery so hopefully my review will help people suffering from addiction who are looking to get help. I find that Yelp churns our the same rehab reviews over and over, like "This place saved my life, best place eva homie!" Or "Worst experience I ever had, avoid this place!" So let's dig in to the good, the bad and the ugly of CASA recovery. The good parts are that the staff at CASA truly do care about your recovery and want you to succeed. They set you up with a counselor and you'll see a therapist usually once or twice a week. Personally I find one-in-one time helpful in getting to the underlying issues that fuel addiction. CASA is open minded to different modalities of recovery, not just AA or NA 12 step based treatment. The group sessions are usually small. They provide acupuncture and massages while you're in PHP. The sober living houses were very nice and CASA provides transportation to and from the center. The bad parts are if Capo Canyon detox is full CASA will send you to a total shit hole in my opinion, one of Milestones Recovery detox facilities called The Mission House or Life Vessel treatment .DON'T GO THERE. I still can't believe that kind of detox is legal. They hire ex-addicts with absolutely no medical training. And the food was atrocious. A very shady operation. Some other negatives about CASA is they don't give rides to meetings but expect you to go to meetings, they never know when you'll be discharged and for me that was pretty important as far as the next step. They just leave it up to you to figure it out. And finally I have to mention Sandy M, the el heffe next to the boss, Krishna. I would like to believe she has everyone's best interest in mind but I did not experience that. She was condescending and had a "holier-than-thou" vibe that is not conducive to helping addicts and alcoholics. All of that being said,CASA is a good place for people in recovery who already have a car, a job, a house. I have to say thank you for the positive things I experienced there and I hope the said negative aspects of CASA have improved. One more thing, I had a fake Omega watch that was stolen by one of the house managers, lol, at least I'm above ground and sober. read more

I went to CASA in incredibly bad shape. Really, I showed up in ratty sweats and cried for about 14 hours straight. Ask the staff, it really was that long. But everyone there legit WANTS to help you. Its not the preachy shit you see on TV. My counselor was Kevin, and he was the hardass I needed to make me feel better, and he was always very compassionate and made me feel like a person again. Amy was my therapist who was the sweetest woman I have ever met. She was so caring and I grew a lot with her, notably that I started being able to have sessions without sobbing, which was a huge step for me in my depression. The sober living homes are all beautiful and my house manager Kat was an angel. When I left 57 days later I truly felt like a new person, not feeling like I had to lie or manipulate my life anymore. Just felt happy to be who I am. They even inspired me to stay in orange county as opposed to portland, am I am loving the weather!! And being close to the community that made me feel mattered again. read more

Casa recovery is an amazing place. The staff is wonderful, well trained, and every action taken is based on ethics and the benefit of the client. I went through Casa recovery originally for addiction treatment, and returned a year later to work on some mental health issues. I am grateful for these people more than I can express on here, they really helped me out in the worst of times. It's a structured yet lax environment, so it's not such a different shift once you're back out. They provide tailored treatment for your emotional, physical and spiritual needs if you choose to let them help you in these ways. We all take help differently, you choose how and when to start making progress - this is the perfect place to not only learn how to defeat addiction and cope with emotional problems but how to identify what is like a cancer in your lifestyle.. You'd be surprised! I spent 6 months with them. Best decision I've made, I'm a totally different person now because they taught me about the tools we have at our disposal and how to properly use them. If you're going to go through treatment here, I advise you to stay longer than just a month - that's not enough time! P.S. I don't know what's up with the negative reviews; they gave excellent service and treatment. These people have gone through it all, and they have enough heart to dedicate themselves to help other people going through a rough time. It sounds weird but LET THEM HELP YOU HELP YOURSELF. If you struggle with dissociation, do not consider CR for treatment. As someone with diagnosed Dissociative Identity Disorder, I was promised this facility could help me. The psychiatrist I saw here compared D.I.D. to alcoholism and suggested I work the twelve steps and get a sponsor to cure my dissociations. In addition, the clinical director told my family I have a "conscious addiction" to dissociating. Clearly she is not trauma informed and has no education regarding dissociation and should not be advising anyone on the subject. When I dissociated in front of her, she put her hands on me and was yelling at me to "stop shaking," as my nervous system was causing me to shake. You never put your hands on a trauma patient! Not only did the safety plan I had given them ask for no one to touch me, this should have been a no brainer. When this director grabbed my forearms and firmly held them together I was triggered and did not feel safe. A few days later, I was told I needed to leave, even though I had already paid to stay longer and transition from PHP to IOP. I was pushed out the door without a sturdy plan for moving forward. I am grateful for the experiences I had with the three therapists on board, Eric, Shanelle and Diana. They are all well versed in trauma. I believe Eric is an expert in his field. I wish I had more time with them. I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere though if you deal with dissociation on any level and BEWARE of the clinical director. read more

I went to Casa Recovery PHP and it was so bad I left after 5 days at a last minute flight to my hometown. They do not treat mental health very well there; my therapist and councilor did not know what to do for me; the nurse was rarely there to go over medications; we were constantly crammed in one small room for mostly everything; the "holistic services" were a mockery; and the director of the place herself told me essentially to suck it up (when I was having severe anxiety on that Friday I left) and get back to class or she will have to resort to "Plan B". I was afraid to find out what that meant. She also told me I don't need to see the doctor despite me requesting to see one, and there was not going to be a doctor there. When I was leaving and I needed to get my meds since they were locked up, I was told there "might" be someone to get them. No one did. But later that night when I was at the airport I was told the nurse (the one that was never available) was actually available, got my meds and sent them Fed Ex. But not overnight; maybe sometime Tuesday they'll arrive. So in the meantime I had to go to an urgent care to get some emergency prescriptions. Casa also complained how much it cost to ship them to me. The House Manager was also barely there. I was left alone a lot of the times in the house I was at and this was terrible for my anxiety. When I went to the House Manager for help when my anxiety got bad, she didn't know what to do; she refused to call the nurse because she didn't want to bother the nurse over my anxiety. And since she worked 2 jobs, she would leave me alone. It was when I was leaving and in an Uber to the airport that suddenly everyone in the world in Casa was suddenly available to talk to me and to work things out to get me to stay. While I was talking to the director over the phone about why I was leaving she abruptly hung up on me and never called me back. The classes are awful too. The "therapeutic and gentle" yoga was over 20 of us squished so compactly in the main room they used that there was no floor space left. The yoga instructor complained the mats "smelled like ass" and to clean them with a cleaning solution that she said she did not know what was in it. Once yoga got underway, it was so fast, loud, and too advanced only 4 people in the entire room were still doing it; everyone else was using the time for nap time. The "meditation" was run by a 25 year old guy that was freaking high the entire time. He blasted his indie rock music for 2 hours and told us to relax; he also went around the room asking us about our concept of God, which I did not appreciate. The mandatory Alumni meeting they had Wednesday night was horrible. It was someone that dropped out of Casa after 2 months there (she was there for addiction) so she could go get high. The entire hour speech she had was glorifying her drug and alcohol use, and not one part of it was talking about how Casa helped her...which it obviously did not since she dropped out to go on a drug binge in a tent. And it was f-bomb this and f-bomb that every sentence. But the people at Casa thought she was amazing and inspiring. When I brought up my concerns about the speaker to my councilor, she said that it should be inspiring enough that she's sober for 8 months now. The staff there are highly unprofessional too. Loud noises trigger me; everyone was so loud and blasting music when they could; they were all dropping f-bombs all over the place. We also were required to go to 4 evening meetings in one week at places outside of Casa; most were for addiction. When I went to an AA meeting, I was told I had to introduce myself as an alcoholic so I wouldn't get kicked out (I don't drink). No one helped me there; no one listened. As long as I showed up and went to classes and didn't bother them about anything else, things were fine. The main contact there, Sean, is their pitchman or salesman. He made the place sound incredible, profession, and organized. It was anything but. But he was excellent in selling it. read more

If you want the very best for you loved one...be very cautious of this place. First off, rehab is a very tender and emotional thing for anyone to have to go through, it is hard for all parties involved. I was shocked when the staff took our families money and then told us that they would be exiting our child and that we should not pick him up (which I agreed with), would be wasting our money if we sent him to a certain sober living facility that was not associated with CASA (do NOT agree with), and that I should expect that my child would not recover! Be extremely CAUTIOUS of LISA, JESUS, and KRISHNA! You would expect that people helping those in the recovery community would be professionals, but it is highly possible another program without monetary concern is better at the job of recovery. read more

I can't speak highly enough about our experience with Casa Recovery My son has recently graduated from their program and he's been given a chance to have his life back. When he decided to check him self into recovery his life had become absolutly unmanageable. The 6 months before Casa were some of the worst times I've ever experienced with my son. Anyone who is looking for a good program I'm sure is going through the same horible nightmare. When he finally decided to change his life I talked with the people at Casa. Instantly I knew he would be in the best of hands. The man who helped me shared his journey into , a now many years of a clean and sober, happy life. He years earlier went through this same program. He even drove nearly 2 hours to pick up my son to get him there. My son is very committed to his own wellness and his future. He's attending meetings every day and he's learned to wear his sobriety as a badge of honor. At 24 he has a chance at a future, but as he has said to me, he's not taking anything for granted. He learned great skills from Casa and he's committed. I am very thankful to have my son back!! read more
