We wanted to stay in places with character, and it doesn't get much better than a 15th century monastery!
This is a location easily walkable to the historic center, but located just across the Arno in a more authentic florentine neighborhood. Literally right next door to the Bruneschelli chapel. There are lots of restaurants, supermarket and laundry in the surrounding blocks. Main tourist areas like museums are an easy 10 minute walk.
Rooms are clean, spacious and furnished with wonderful antique furniture. No AC but Ina place built for pre industrial Florence, the high ceilings and shading shutters keep it quite cool. Even during very hot weather, we got a little chilly at night with the fan on. Beds are all singles, but easily moved to create a matrimonial/ king sized for married couple.
Breakfast is served in a communal dining room, buffet style with loads of options. Wifi is reliable and desk is attended from 6 am to 1 am for secure entry. read more
