They are extremely responsive, friendly, and proactive. We investigated a number of realtors before choosing Sarah Leonard team. We appreciated that Tori was energized, realistic, honest, and very detail oriented. She gave us the confidence that with the right amount of tender loving care that we could sell our place at the price we were hoping for. Also, even a week after we first talked to her, she still remembered our "one burned out light bulb" in the hallway and reminded us to replace it! This level of attention impressed us greatly. Regarding this previous poor review from Shawn B. in 2017 - from what you say, Marsha represented the OTHER party in the transaction, not you. You should have been seeking guidance from YOUR OWN AGENT. Our experience with Marsha was that she gave us several referrals for home inspectors, radon companies, etc., but she NEVER claimed to have negotiated a "good deal" on our behalf. Again, these recommendations should have come from YOUR AGENT. And, as she did with us, she probably gave you the name of a radon person that her clients had used before and reported that they thought they got a good price there. Any recommendations that I receive from someone, I contact that person myself. Who would expect the person giving the recommendation to be the one to contact and negotiate a price on your behalf, especially when you weren't their client? Even when I DO receive a recommendation for someone, it's my responsibility to check them out, compare prices, check their reviews and see what other people have said. The situation you experienced with the sellers turning off the gas prematurely was not Marsha's fault or responsibility (again, this is not in the wheelhouse of responsibility for a seller's agent, and she probably had no knowledge that they had done it), but it sure sounds like she took action and contacted Nicor for you to correct the issue before the pipes froze. Again, in my opinion, this is something that you or YOUR AGENT should have been taking care of. We have known Marsha both professionally and personally for many years. I am positive that she never would have been "blatantly dishonest or deceptive" or told anyone "not my problem" (although, technically, it wasn't, since you weren't HER clients) or "buyer beware". She has always been the utmost professional and responded quickly and appropriately if there were any potential issues with our transaction. We always have and always will recommend Marsha to all of our friends and family! P.S. - Shawn B., I notice that half of the reviews you've written are 1-star reviews. Something seems amiss there.

We interacted with Marsha at Fox Valley Real Estate as the buyers of a St. Charles property (she…read morewas representing the sellers). I'd advise not to take her at her word when it comes to quotes or other important details during the negotiation process. In good faith, we trusted her when she alleged to have reached out to a radon mitigation company to get us a good price - we've since discovered after close that she never contacted them. Likewise, Nicor never came out to inspect for and remedy a gas leak (found during inspection) as she alleged. Both these things factored into our closing credit negotiations. Additionally, when the sellers prematurely shut off the gas - leaving the interior of the house close to freezing and our closing date in jeopardy - Marsha (or the HVAC man called at the last minute) resorted to cutting off the lock Nicor had put on the meter (Nicor's assessment of the situation - not ours). We were grateful to not be dealing with frozen pipes, but this certainly isn't the professional way to go about doing things. When confronted with all of this post-close her only response was "done deal", "not my problem", "buyer beware", etc. While I understand the agent in this case is representing the seller and their best interest, this should not mean being blatantly dishonest or deceptive to the other parties involved. Our negotiations were over as little as $1000 - chump change when you consider the agent's cut of that. I would have expected greater integrity. If that's a quality you value in an agent, I'd suggest you look elsewhere when selling or looking for a home.
