The home remained on the market for an extended period with very limited feedback provided to me. Aside from being told the house showed well and one buyer wanted a larger downstairs bedroom, I received little information regarding buyer or agent impressions. After consulting another real estate professional, I learned that several staging and presentation changes were recommended immediately that had previously been dismissed. I had suggested these changes for staging purposes and was told, "it's fine." This left me questioning whether my home had been positioned as effectively as possible from the beginning. I was also surprised to discover that the website printed on the business cards was not functioning properly. As a seller, I expect marketing materials and online resources to be fully operational. My biggest concern was that I did not feel informed throughout the process. Selling a home is one of the largest financial transactions most people will ever make, and I believe sellers deserve clear communication, realistic pricing guidance, timely responses, and proactive marketing. This was my experience, and I hope it helps other sellers ask detailed questions about communication expectations, marketing plans, and pricing strategy before signing a listing agreement. They did a lot of good work, packaging up the items and creating the listings. We thought all was well until we saw the listings prior to the sale going live. Instead of selling individual collectibles or antiques, they put many together in groups, which resulted in a much lower return. Also, on a number of items, we specifically specified a reserve, which they said they would honor. That was not done, and, depite notifying them of that, they said it was too late, and they went ahead and sold the items anyway at an absurdly, ridiculously low amount. We had planned to utilize them for several more auctions but were sufficiently dissatisfied that we decided not to use them again.
